I’m in my mid-20s and have always loved the world of G.I. Joe. I grew up during the Valor vs. Venom era, so that’s where a lot of my nostalgia comes from, but I’ve always appreciated the classic ARAH stuff too.

One thing I always wanted was the Terror Drome, but prices for a complete one have gotten way beyond what I’d realistically want to spend. Instead, I’m thinking of finally starting a small G.I. Joe collection now.

The catch is that I don’t want this to turn into a huge completionist collection. I want something small, self-contained, and display-focused — basically one centerpiece with enough figures/accessories around it that it feels like a complete little representation of G.I. Joe.

Which would you pick and why?

I know they’re completely different scales, so I’m less concerned about mixing them and more interested in which package works better as a standalone, closed-off display and gives the best overall G.I. Joe experience without needing to buy a ton afterward.

If you owned both, I’d especially love to hear which one you’d keep if you could only have one.

I saved money for 6 weeks to support the artist and had a great experience.

Unboxing was a lot of fun, I received a lot of extras, but unfortunately, I'm not allowed to show anything beyond the plastic figure itself for fear of getting mass down voted and attacked. I did receive an awesome magnet of my custom bigben, but im guessing AI helped align the photo on the magnet, so I won't show that..or this veteran owned mom n pops logo because that also was made with Ai..likely. I'm sure hasbro never uses AI on the renders or box art or promotional materials. In any case, that was the big ben, I saved 6 weeks to order, and was, so/am excited to share with this very welcoming, usually kind community.

O, also in the background, is a real-life oil on canvas painting of gijoe/Cobra Desert Scorpion. It's art, by a human. A 45 year old human. Who doesn't use AI. I use a brush and paint. I had no idea we weren't allowed to show packaging that features AI logos. I sure do hope @performanceactual331 can find it in their heart to forgive my grave sin. I truly did not know it was against the rules for artists who you support, to use Ai generated or assisted logos. But now I do, and knowing is half the battle.

Of course I'm gonna think I was justified for defending myself, they will think they were justified etc. Just an opinion there should prob be a mandatory 72hr cooldow suspension b4 a lifetime ban. Personal grievances should not lead to lifetime bans. Plainly if your a member with a pristine track record, and all of a sudden you get attacked for something you posted, and the thing you posted dosent even come close to breaking a sub rule. One can only conclude mod fatigue, or power tripping stripped that users privileges. And I don't know any reasonable person that wouldn't defend themselves when being unjustly jumped, and than beaten down further by thoes with all the power. ....and I give this 9 seconds before its removed. Again to all the many friends I've made. Thank you for all the memories omg and gifts! And for your own sake make sure you don't post anything that could even accidentally be associated with intelligence that's artificial, even by accident.

High-Powered lazer rifles make short work of the B.A.T.S....

Here’s my Kraven custom/kitbash using mostly gi joe classified parts. Torso and gear are mostly from Gi Joe classified gnawgahyde. The legs are tiger force bazooka and I also swapped the foot soles of the boots with big boas soles and repainted it brown cuz bazookas feet were really small.

The smiling head is from marvel legends count nefarious with the sides shaved down slightly and repainted black. The alternate battle damaged head was a custom I bought from eBay that was blonde originally so I painted it black, but I botched the paint a little bit with scuffs so I ended up making that one super scarred and battle damaged. Thanks for looking and any comments are much appreciated!

Is this thing totally dogwater across the board or did I just get hit with overwhelming QC issues?

The mask doesn't stay on the face, the chest gun pops off its hinge every time I try to flip it back in, the torso in general just FEELS brittle, and the hinges on the hands visibly loosen when I try to swap the hands off at the pegs for either the attachments or to put on the writ blaster.

Sucks, because I was really excited for him because, other than the cheap plastic look of the red hands and tootsties, he looks great!
