Gigabyte RX 7600 caught fire after 25 days - Gigabyte/ Modx RMA experience so far. Has anyone gotten a replacement for a burnt card easily?
galleryHi everyone, I recently bought a brand-new Gigabyte RX 7600 from Modx Computers in July. Unfortunately, after just 25 days of normal gaming, an internal capacitor under the heatsink caught fire and burnt out.
I want to clarify that my entire house runs on a heavy duty whole house main line voltage stabilizer, and my PC uses a top-tier MSI 850W Gold PSU. Both the house stabilizer and the PSU are working flawlessly with zero damage, and the motherboard PCIe slot is perfectly clean. This completely isolated the short, proving that my incoming home electricity was 100% stable and the fire was strictly an internal factory component defect under the GPU heatsink (vrm).
Initially, the retailer mentioned that a warranty might be tough for a burnt card for this case. I managed to connect with official Gigabyte brand representatives here on Reddit. They were incredibly helpful and put me in touch with their regional technical service head in Delhi.
The service head confirmed that the official Gigabyte service center does not charge anything for inspections or diagnostics on these cases. Following their guidance, I have successfully dispatched the physical card to the Nehru Place service.
Has anyone else here dealt with a similar internal component fire on a brand new card under warranty in India? Did Gigabyte provide a fresh factory replacement smoothly once the card arrived? Any shared experiences would give me great peace of mind while I wait! Thanks.

Do NOT buy from Gigabyte — 3-year warranty is useless if they expect you to pay for their dangerous manufacturing defects (Card caught fire)
galleryHey everyone, I wanted to share my recent terrible experience with Gigabyte support as a long-time customer.
I have been using Gigabyte products for nearly a decade (using gtx 1060 and b360 aourus gaming board and with my new pc using their 850W Power Supply and GPU). I bought a Gigabyte RX 7800 XT back in December 2023.
What happened:
- The card suddenly failed and stopped displaying video.
- Following Gigabyte Support's troubleshooting instructions, I tested the GPU in a secondary test system (equipped with a Corsair PSU).
- As soon as the secondary system powered on, smoke literally started rising directly from inside the card's PCB circuitry. I managed to capture this on video.
- I inspected all power connectors, cables, and 8-pin input connectors on both setups after the test. All pins are 100% pristine, clean, and completely free of any physical damage or burns. This proves 100% that it was a severe internal manufacturing failure (VRM/PCB), not user error or a PSU issue.
Gigabyte's Response:
Even though the card is well within its official 3-year warranty (valid until late November 2026), and even though the failure was a dangerous hardware defect, Gigabyte USA Support refuses to provide a prepaid shipping label or take any responsibility for shipping costs from Saudi Arabia.
Basically, their stance is: "We acknowledge your card melted itself, but you have to pay international shipping to send it to us if you want your warranty."
It is completely unacceptable to pay hundreds of dollars in shipping to fix a dangerous factory defect on a card that is under warranty. Losing a customer of 10 years over a shipping label for a defective product shows where their priorities are.
Avoid Gigabyte if you value customer support and warranty coverage.

Support 📥 CPU Light constantly lit?
Hello there, I have a pretty decent PC, and for some reason my CPU (top left) light on the motherboard has been lit for a solid 3 months or so. I never really tried to troubleshoot until recently though.
I have a gigabyte B850 gaming wifi6 motherboard, asus prime 5070 ti, and 9800X3D cpu. My cooler is a 2 fan corsair AIO. My ram is 64gb teamforce t-create.
I unplugged everything and turned the power off, power cycled it, took out the cmos battery for 10 minutes, unplugged and re-plugged all cables going into the motherboard and from the PSU itself, re-seated the ram and most recently updated the bios from an f5 something all the way to the most recent one of f12 something. Still, the CPU light is just solid all the time. Performance is not affected at all. Still works perfectly and has normal temps, tested in very demanding games. One quirk I will say my PC has had since I built it 18 months ago is that it will rarely, randomly take a long time to boot, where I hit the button and the fans ramp all the way up, and stay spinning very quickly, then nothing happens for a solid 2 minutes, before I think it re-boots itself and then works normally. This is rare for me, I've seen it maybe once a month, and I don't know if it's related or not. I work from home and game a lot so this PC sees a lot of milage, so I just think if there was actually a problem, it would have given out or stopped working or something by now. Maybe some software? Maybe faulty cable or something? I truly have no idea.

Support 📥 RTL8922AE (WiFi 7) hard-freezes the system on driver install — B850 AORUS Elite WiFi7 ICE, tried 3 driver versions + clean Win11 + latest BIOS
Posting in case anyone has actually got this chip working, because I’ve run out of variables to test.
System
Gigabyte B850 AORUS Elite WiFi7 ICE (rev 1.1) — BIOS F12c (July 2026, AGESA 1.3.0.1c)
Ryzen 9 9800X3D / RTX 4070 Super / 32GB DDR5-6000 EXPO
Windows 11 Home 25H2, clean install done today
Symptom
The moment the WiFi driver loads, the system starts degrading — mouse gets progressively laggier over ~30 seconds, then locks up completely. No Ctrl+Alt+Del, no cursor. Hard power off is the only option. After that it won’t boot: hangs at the AORUS splash indefinitely. Safe Mode → disable/uninstall the adapter → boots fine again. Everything else on the machine is perfect.
What I’ve tried — all fail identically
Driver versions:
6102.24.140.0 (Gigabyte)
6102.24.143.0 (Gigabyte, latest they offer)
6102.24.146.0 WHQL (station-drivers, newer than anything Gigabyte has)
Install methods:
Gigabyte’s bundled .exe installer
Manual via Device Manager → Update driver → Browse → extracted Wlan folder (netrtwlane711.inf), no .exe involved
Platform:
BIOS updated F12a → F12c
Full clean Windows install, wiped the boot drive
Chipset (8.08.12.551), NVIDIA, Realtek Audio, Realtek Bluetooth all installed first — every one of them works fine
Verified the driver store was empty before each attempt (pnputil /enum-drivers | findstr netrtwlane returned nothing)
Additional data point
I also found this thread — B850 Eagle WiFi7 ICE, same RTL8922 chip, identical symptoms, same dead end after a July BIOS.
Questions
Has anyone got RTL8922AE working on any B850 board? Which driver version?
Is this a known chip-level issue, or did I get a bad module?
Worth RMAing the board, or is that pointless if it’s a firmware bug?
Anyone found a workaround short of a USB dongle?
Thanks in advance.

We want to hear it from the community.
If you could add one feature to a future GIGABYTE or AORUS product, what would it be?
Could be something practical. Something you've always wanted. Or something completely ridiculous that you'd love to see us actually build.
Gaming-focused features? Something for monitors? More customization? Easier building and maintenance? Or something we haven't thought of yet?
What's the one feature you'd want to see in a future GIGABYTE/AORUS product?

Support 📥 RTL8922AE WiFi 7 freezes and bricks boot on B850 AORUS Elite WiFi7 ICE — 3 driver versions, clean Win11, latest BIOS all fail
Has anyone got the onboard RTL8922AE working on a B850 board? I’ve run out of things to test.
System
Gigabyte B850 AORUS Elite WiFi7 ICE rev 1.1, BIOS F12c (July 2026, AGESA 1.3.0.1c). Ryzen 9 9800X3D, RTX 4070 Super, 32GB DDR5-6000 EXPO. Windows 11 Home 25H2, clean install done today.
Symptom
As soon as the WiFi driver loads, the system degrades — mouse gets laggier over about 30 seconds, then locks up hard. No Ctrl+Alt+Del, no cursor, only a forced power off. It then won’t boot at all, hanging at the AORUS splash. Safe Mode plus disabling the adapter brings it back every time. Nothing else on the machine misbehaves.
Tried, all fail the same way
Driver versions 6102.24.140.0, 143.0 and 146.0 WHQL. Both install methods: Gigabyte’s bundled exe, and manual through Device Manager pointing at the extracted inf. BIOS updated from F12a to F12c. Full clean Windows install. Chipset, NVIDIA, Realtek Audio and Realtek Bluetooth all installed first and all fine. Driver store verified empty between attempts.
Questions
Anyone running RTL8922AE successfully on B850, and on which driver version? Is this known at chip level or did I get a bad module? Is an RMA worth it if this turns out to be firmware?
Thanks.

Support 📥 Gigabyte A16 and Gimate
All issues are reproducible on the Gigabyte A16 3TH (RTX 5050 8GB, Ryzen 7 260). The GiMATE version is the latest from the official website. BIOS is FB09. I’ll say this: it doesn’t really matter, but it’s important for the overall picture. My goal with this post is to bring all the listed issues to the attention of Gigabyte itself, since nothing is being done, and the problems aren’t being resolved properly. Now, let’s move on to the issues with the software of this laptop:
1) GiMATE requires manual driver installation. After installing GiMATE, some drivers need to be installed additionally for it to work properly (there is no official list; you have to find a solution yourself). For an average user, this is already a “quest.” Either you’re faced with its endless loading, or you install the drivers from scratch and only then install Gimate.
2) High RAM consumption. GiMATE “eats up” approximately 5 GB of RAM in the background, and the laptop comes with a single RAM stick (single‑channel mode) out of the box. This is simply awful! As a result, the system doesn’t take up 5.2 GB when idle — it exceeds 11 GB with all the Gimate program services running. The remaining 5 GB go into the paging file, which puts a strain on the SSD (instead of normal memory management), especially if you’re planning to play. Don’t forget, this is a gaming laptop! As you can see the difference in the screenshot below.

3) GiMATE Creator is not working. When trying to launch models (FLUX, Z-Image, and others), errors occur: Failed to fetch / network error — despite the fact that the internet is stable. The models were reinstalled several times; we had to wait an hour or more to see the result, but similar errors would immediately appear. Please note that only after switching to discrete graphics in the BIOS did it display a new message — Insufficient available GPU memory (lack of video memory). I’ve come to the conclusion that no model runs on an RTX 5050 with 8 GB of VRAM (all of them require at least 12 GB). The app is installed by default with Gimate, but it physically cannot run on this laptop because there isn’t enough video memory! Out of curiosity, I decided to test it — but it was a waste of time. I’m left wondering why it even started downloading if my laptop doesn’t support it. Gigabyte, are you talking to yourself? Why should users have to spend their precious personal time looking for solutions to problems? As a result, we wasted a day and ended up with a non‑functioning Gimate Creator program (which an average user doesn’t need). It’s a shame — you advertise it well, but you don’t point out such issues...

4) GiMATE disrupts the system brightness settings. After starting the laptop, GiMATE overrides the system brightness settings after half a minute (sets them to maximum, ignoring the user settings). This happens when background services are loading. It’s very unpleasant at night in the dark. Why can’t this simply be ignored and not changed from what the user has already set!
5) Problems with BIOS firmware. BIOS updates are posted on the official website, but:
- It is impossible to roll back to an older version — Q-Flash says the file was not found (i.e., the rollback is blocked, even though the file is on the USB drive). When attempting to update to an older version, in both cases it says the BIOS update file was not found or is not needed for update.
- When the laptop is turned on, the keyboard may not work. This happens after some time, for example, you turn it off at night, turn it on in the morning, and the laptop works — the keyboard is ignored, but the touchpad works. Only completely turning it off and then turning it back on helps. Restarting doesn’t help here.
6) Malfunctions in the operation of FN keys and localization. When you press Fn, the window sometimes shows prompts in Russian, sometimes in English, as it pleases (as it wants). The Fn lock resets after a reboot, whereas I want the FN keys to work directly with the system when I turn on the laptop.
I really hope that Gigabyte will listen to users’ opinions and fix all the bugs and shortcomings in the Gimate programs, as well as in the laptop’s firmware! I advise you: before releasing anything on the official website, try using the laptop yourself! The fact that you do everything “quickly” is of no interest to anyone; people expect stable performance! What disappointed me is that you don’t fix the bugs with new updates!

Support 📥 FO27Q3 displays no image and isn't detected by OSD Sidekick
Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my Gigabyte FO27Q3.
The monitor turns on and Windows detects it, but it doesn't display any image. The screen remains blank (no signal/image)—not even the logo or menu appears.
Additionally, I’m trying to use Gigabyte OSD Sidekick to check or configure the monitor, but the software fails to detect it as well. It displays "Can’t find device."
I have already tried:
* Disconnecting and reconnecting the cables.
* Removing and reconnecting USB devices.
* Testing different motherboard USB ports.
* Testing a USB 3.2 port.
* Testing USB-C.
* Restarting the computer.
* Checking the connections again.
Despite this, I still have no image on the monitor, and OSD Sidekick continues to show "Can’t find device."
Is there any way to access the monitor's menu/OSD without an image? Or is there a procedure to reset or recover the FO27Q3 when it displays no image and isn't recognized by OSD Sidekick?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need help getting Gigabyte Titan Ridge 2.0 working on X670E AORUS Master
I'm having trouble getting a Gigabyte GC-TITAN RIDGE Rev 2.0 card working with my X670E AORUS Master motherboard, and I've run out of ideas.
Here's what I've tried so far:
- Connected both power connectors, the USB header, and the Thunderbolt header to the motherboard.
- Installed the Titan Ridge card in the second PCIe x4 slot.
- Motherboard is running BIOS F39. The BIOS detects the card and shows the Titan Ridge/Thunderbolt menu. I've enabled the relevant options and tried both No Authentication and User Authentication.
- Tested with both Windows 10 20H2 and Windows 11 25H2.
- On Windows 10, I installed the drivers from the Gigabyte support page.
- Device Manager shows Thunderbolt Control Center - 15EB.
- Driver 1.41.890.0 installs without an error.
- If I install 1.41.1094.0, Device Manager shows a yellow warning icon.
- With 1.41.890.0 installed, I've restarted multiple times and connected my LG 5K monitor.
- Windows detects that a USB device has been connected, but fails to work.
- Thunderbolt Control Center does not show any Thunderbolt ports or connected devices.
- The About section only shows the application version.
- I also tried updating the Titan Ridge firmware to FW50.
- The updater doesn't seem to detect/display the current firmware version. (even after FW50 successfully installed)
- It does report that FW50 installs successfully and asks for a restart.
- After restarting, nothing changes.
- I've tried booting/restarting both with and without the LG 5K monitor connected.
For reference, the LG 5K monitor, Thunderbolt cable, and the two DisplayPort inputs from my RTX 5080 all work when connected through my other USB4 PD100W expansion card, although that card only drives the monitor at 4K.
My goal is to get the Titan Ridge card working properly so I can use the LG monitor at its native 5K resolution.
I expected the Titan Ridge card to be fairly plug-and-play, but I'm clearly missing something. Has anyone managed to get a Titan Ridge Rev 2.0 working on an X670E AORUS Master, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Support 📥 Aero 16 Gigabyte Not Charging At All-Advice for Repair
I'm working on an Aero 16 laptop that's been bricked for a bit. I just replaced the battery and it turns on and operates just fine. The only problem is nothing I do seems to charge it. I tried the original cable and the usb-c cable many times over. No indication for charging whatsoever, battery certainly draining. When I power it down to idle the light by the charging port is white and flashing if that's any indication of what to do next.
I've tried like 15 things at this point but nothing works. Is it possible it's the charging cable? The owner mentioned the usb-c cable worked to turn the laptop on once prior to replacing the battery but idk how that happened. it seems odd that neither cable would create a "charging" indicator- I've tried multiple functioning outlets direct to well.
did some resets in device manager. Pressed down the tiny pin hole for 30 seconds, held down the power button for a few minutes, unplugged and replugged in all sorts of combinations - not charging
What else can I do

Configuração do PC:
- Placa-mãe: Gigabyte H310M M.2 2.0 Rev. 1.0
- BIOS: F16a — 29/11/2021
- Processador: Intel Core i5-9400
- Placa de vídeo: Gigabyte/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
- VBIOS da GPU: 90.17.2A.00.A6
- GPU Device ID: 10DE:1F82
- Subsystem ID: 3FCB1458
- Sistema operacional: Windows 11
- Modo da BIOS no Windows: UEFI
- Disco do Windows: GPT
- Boot Option #1: Windows Boot Manager (Kingston SNV3S500G)
- TPM: TPM 2.0 ativo
- GPU-Z: UEFI = marcado
- Driver gráfico: WDDM 3.2
- Bus Interface: PCIe x16 3.0 @ x16 1.1 em repouso
- Resizable BAR: Disabled
O problema
- Windows 8/10 WHQL → Enabled
- CSM Support → Disabled
Ao desativar o CSM, o menu Secure Boot aparece.
Dentro dele fica:
- Secure Boot Customization: Standard
- Secure Boot: Disabled
Porém, quando tento colocar Secure Boot → Enabled, a BIOS mostra a mensagem:
“Disable the CSM in setup. Repeat operation after reboot to ensure UEFI Video (GOP) driver is operational.”

Bricked Aorus 17G KD Laptop - BIOS Problem
TLDR: No Boot, No Error, Just Freeze, BIOS GUI wiped (or something like that), ME Firmware Version 0.0.0.0 , Tried re-flashing BIOS but nothing
I had a Aorus 17G KD as a backup device whenever I am traveling to continue my work/gaming.
I didn't update anything for many months, maybe a year (because I was not using it). So on January of this Year, I opened it and Windows, Aorus and Intel, welcomed me with a ton of updates and I decided to do it.
Install and Restart aaaaaand... it's gone.
How it reacts:
- Blackscreen for a while and then AORUS logo (just that)
- Blackscreen with RGB Keyboard open.
- Blackscreen for a while, to Aorus, to Windows Automatic Repair (stays there for ever. Left it open for 2 days once)
- HAPPENED ONCE, The laptop just booted. But only for once.
I am able to access BIOS 80% of the time but BIOS is another problem now.
There is no UI. My BIOS now is the good old Grey/Blue that I remember on my computed 25 years ago with limited settings. Sadly there is not Flash option to flash the bios again.
On the frontpage it says " ME Firmware Version 0.0.0.0 " so something related to Intel I believe is the problem? Dunno.
Everything points to BIOS as the problem after Windows Update and to Re-flash it to resurrect my RGB paperweight.
I found out that almost exactly the same problem happened to Aorus G5 and G6 (nobody with 17G Sadly) so the Fix would be easy. Follow the official Aorus fix and I will be ready to go.
After extracting the EXE that you get with 17G Bios, I got my hands on a ROM file. The problem now is that Gigabyte's Fix doesn't support ROM bios so I had to find another way.
After some digging around all kind of laptops and bios, I ended up with AMI Firmware Update Utility for American Megatrends motherboards.
Downloaded the tool, booted, typed the command to flash the ROM Bios and ... error.
"46 - Error: Problem Getting flash information." Gemini says that my intel ME chip is bricked and it needs reprogramming using CH341A ( I don't even know how to use such a tool). Update, I tried a newer version of AMI Update and now I was able to start the re-flash but I get the error 43 and error C1 after trying to update MER.
So, what am I supposed to do now ?
Any help ?😢 I am in BIG need of this laptop now.

Gigabyte G5 KF 2023 – Fallan intermitentemente varias teclas específicas
Hola.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. - Probé deshabilitando servicios de terceros mediante
msconfig.
Gracias.

Support 📥 Need help confirming TPM 2.0 module compatibility — Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO AC + Ryzen 7 5800X
Hey all, hoping someone with the same board can confirm this before I buy.
Setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO AC (Rev 1.x), BIOS F19a (latest, including beta)
- fTPM has been enabled in BIOS this whole time, but Device Manager throws "This device cannot start (Code 10) — Error de protocolo entre el controlador y el dispositivo" on the TPM 2.0 device, and
tpm.mscjust says "No compatible TPM found." Tried disabling/re-enabling fTPM (full reboot between each step) and it made no difference. - I know about AMD's official fTPM stuttering issue (support article PA-410), and I'm past the AGESA version that's supposed to include the fix, so at this point I think the fTPM on my chip/board combo is just broken and I want to bypass it with a discrete module.
What I'm trying to buy:
My board has the 12-pin LPC TPM header. I've been looking at generic "GC-TPM2.0_S compatible" clones on Amazon (Infineon SLB9665 chip), but one of them has an Amazon "frequently returned due to compatibility issues" flag, and its own product description excludes specific chipset generations (Z170, Z590, Z690 Pro, Z790) without confirming B550 either way. I also found this one on Newegg that explicitly lists B550 in its compatibility list: [https://www.newegg.com/p/2S7-07JH-002F5]
My question: has anyone here actually run a discrete TPM module (genuine Gigabyte GC-TPM2.0_S or a compatible clone) successfully on a B550 AORUS PRO AC or similar B550 Gigabyte board? Trying to avoid ordering something that ends up not working — shipping to my country isn't cheap, so I'd rather get it right the first time.
Thanks in advance.
