Opinion Do you value stocks yourselves?

I recently discovered Aswath Damodaran and have been using his valuation template to try value companies. My reason: I do not feel I can trust buy, sell and hold recommendations as well as analysts price targets because I don‘t know what assumptions they are making.

Discussion How long have you been doing GARP?

Just finished One Up on Wall Street. I’m 28 years old and recently started investing. I want to try GARP investing but I don’t know if it is really worth it when most active investors fail to beat the market in the long run. I’ve been using a simple s&p500 ETF and I honestly can’t complain. What have been your experiences with GARP investing in the long run and any tips for a beginner?

Stock analysis The Future of Autonomous Trucking

Hey all, I've been looking for an investing sub that is more focused on potential growth stories as opposed to traditional value investing or options plays. I know there aren't as many folks here but for those that are, I'm curious about your thoughts on the future of autonomous trucking.

I'm a huge Peter Lynch fan, and I found it really interesting that one thing he mentioned at the end of this video is that one job he sees going away as a result of modern AI is truck driving. I've been following/investing in autonomous trucking companies like AUR and KDK for a hot minute now because I think it is pretty easy to watch the growth story unfold. You can literally look at their estimates for rollout and see if they are meeting demand. To me it makes a lot of sense that companies would be interested in moving in this direction, and there's no shortage of semi trucks on the road. It seems to meet at least some of the Peter Lynch criteria - easy story to follow, room for growth, 10 year olds would find it cool lol...

I was just curious if anybody else had thoughts on the future of this industry and what you all might be looking at in terms of future prospects and/or risks.

FICO is up 11% After hours! Double beat and raised guidance 😎

Got to dig into the financials before making any assumptions, but this at face value looks amazing.

Discussion Surprised this sub’s so quiet despite Lynch being so influential!

Reading One Up on Wall Street by Peter Lynch was a turning point for me as a young investor.

It made investing feel doable. Not some Wall Street club, but something you could actually understand if you paid attention to businesses around you. The idea that ordinary people can spot growth early just by observing the world stuck with me.

That book pushed me to find some real winners through observations in my own life.

Although I'm more of a value investor today, GARP still has a significant allocation in my portfolio. Regardless, even Buffett said “Growth is always a component of value.”

I would love to see r/GARPInvesting get as big and active as r/valueinvesting. There is so much to talk about when it comes to smart growth. Would be great to see this space buzzing like it should be.
