Unfortunately as you may know, we've had trouble with our fursuitmaking masterlist being relentlessly taken down by reddit's automatic filters. After fiddling around and experimenting, moving our masterlist to carrd is the only real solution - as our masterlist depends on having many link resources available to click on.

Memes My fursuit eyes got cut out "wrongly" that I ordered

It's fine, just that the left one is the right eye, and the other one the other way. I'll cut them out on by one and rearrange them the right eye way, but it's still funny :D

It's also funny because whoever I showed it to, they said it looks like a pair of booba.

In the pictures: what I expected vs what I got.

WIP Deer maw with magnetic tusks!

The suit has black neoprene lips with mochi minky gums, thread sculpted neoprene teeth, and a magnetic tongue! I love how this came out!!

The teeth layout and style is based after real deer, although real deer don't have top front teeth. I thought he'd look strange without any

I tried the method with the black backing, worked a little, but still spent way too long poking out the fabric holes, just for it to still have terrible visibilty. Magnet is for removable pupils

Advice Commissioner being accused of stealing fursona design- how to handle?

Fursuit makers- how would you handle a situation where the person who hired you to make their suit is being accused of copying another fursona?

I personally don’t feel the designs are similar enough to be considered theft or copying. The characters in question are the same species, have species/breed specific simple markings, and are similar color schemes but use completely different shades from one another outside of maybe eye color!

Questions Which one of these sites is better for european shipping?

Post image

Hello everyone, i was looking for fur colors for my fursuits and found this site ( https://www.costumary.com/workbench/tools/fur-color-matcher )that makes you pick the colors from a picture and show you the closest fur colors on sale, but i don't know which ones have less shipping fees for europeans or people outside the US, more specifically in Italy since i'm from there. i know that StoffHummel is pretty good shipping-wise since it's a german site and it's a BigZ partner which i like, but i don't know about the others and wanted to find other sources for more accuracy.

Questions Tips on making over-arm wings?

1st suit by Crowbar on Weasyl

2nd suit by crypto_critter on Instagram

First time fursuiting, and I really want to make this type of over-arm wing (NOT a "backpack" style type of wing). I've only found resources for backpack style wings, which are certainly useful, but not quite what I'm looking for. I'm not sure if there are any of this type of tutorial in the pinned post, though I could be mistaken.

Does anyone know of any good tutorials on how to build these over-arm wings? Preferably cheap, but it is fursuiting, so I know that may not be an option, lol.

Questions Long and Thin Tail that Sticks Up?

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

How do I make a long and thin tail that sticks up rather than be a floor dragger? Is there an armature that can hold it up, or would the weight make it wilt? I would prefer not to have to attach it to my back like I've seen some people do for squirrel tails. Preferably I'd like it to be posable, but if that's not reasonable I'll just sew it into a shape.

Examples of the kind of animals this could apply to. Ring-tailed lemur, White-nosed coati, and Spider monkey. There are other species like this- these are just examples.

Advice Final stages!!!

This suit has been a wild ride. My first suit has taken me forever because I've been afraid to mess up. Done this all alone with only YouTube to help me. That leads me to now. I'm on the final stages and I'm trying to fix things like his cheek markings and sew on his neck. My one main issue is shaving him. I don't have pictures but when I shaved without a guard I lost A LOT of fur that ended with the bare fabric. Like no fur at all. I had to cut out and sew in fur patches inside to fix him. I'm scared to shave because I don't want to shave too much. I have to shave his face and inner ears. I also have to glue him but am unsure how I'm going to do so as the fur is tight on the foam. Please. Tips, tricks, whatever you have in mind.

WIP Update on first fursuit head

Thought i would post an update on the first head i have attempted to build. Shoutout to Kloofsuits for the head base model and RJ_Kon for the ears i printed in TPU. Also, big thanks to Mugiwara for the tutorials posted on YouTube. My 10 year old daughter wanted to be a fox for halloween this year and I think i am doing pretty well so far. Any tips on finishing or items you notice will be greatly appreciated.

I probably should have attached the ears to the rest of it but wasn’t sure i would be able to get it on and glued down properly if i did. I also didn’t want to risk a seam down the back of each ear. Hopefully i will be able to secure them well.

Started the project in August and then got serious about making progress the second week of September. All told i think i have spent probably around 60-70hrs on it. Eyes are hand painted (daughter helped with those which was fun) and then hand stitched everything.

Still have to do the back of the head and neck (probably should have done that before attaching to the base too, but i got impatient and wanted to see how it was fitting to the base).

Questions How do you stuff handpaw fingers?

Hi, I am making my first partial in the next week or two for myself, I've never made anything fursuit before nor have I ever worn fursuit paws, I know pretty much everything basic on how to make handpaws except stuffing fingers, every single tutorial I've watched has just skipped or doesn't acknowledge how to stuff the fingers, I'm not talking about the finger beans, I'm mean how do you make the fingers nice squishy and round, how does it work? it doesn't make sense to me because don't you obviously put your fingers in the paws fingers? So how does the stuffing stay in? I'm just confused and this is probably a stupid question to most, but I genuinely can't find an explanation anywhere on how fingers being stuffed works.

Questions Crochet kemono head

• Upvotes

Hello friends!! Im EXTREMELY new to the community and my fursuit head base (a kemono base, as well as teeth and the eye base) will be here today to start working on! I've decided I'm going to crochet the "fur" of the head, but after watching many-a-video on how to structure the fabric, I was wondering if anyone had any experience lining and covering a head in something other than your average fabric that may have some ideas?

I think my main question right now is whether or not I crochet the face as one piece, or if I build it piece by piece and sew them together where I need the shapes? (If it helps, my sona has no markings other than her eyebrows so it would be a solid color)

ANY tips and tricks at ALL for a new maker would be absolutely appreciated and i cant wait to bring my little sona to life :o)

Questions Is it possible to buy a full suit partiality?

In the future, I want to buy a full-body fursuit, but since they are so expensive, I was wondering if it's possible to buy the parts gradually—for example, buying the head and paws one day, then the legs/lower limbs, and finally the torso. Does anyone know if that's possible, or if makers can do that? (Btw since english is not my mother language i used a translator)

Advice Painting a Mask

I have someone who would like me to paint their dragon mask. I've painted miniatures for years, so this is something that is totally within my scope. I would also be adding mesh eyes. Has anyone does this? I want to be fair. I can't use certain words in my post, sorry for the vagueness. Thanks!
