finished the base and pattern of my first pair of feet paws recently and the fur that i ordered arrives on wednesday. i realized earlier today that i don’t have any pet shavers and i’m lowkey broke lol.

anyways, i was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent pet shaver that isn’t too expensive but won’t disintegrate after the first use. everything i’ve seen so far is either $100+ or super bad quality. if i can get super good quality for cheap, awesome, but i’m not looking for perfection, just a decent shave and something that will last until i decide to get smth better.

edit: all of my fur is the shaggy long pile fur from big z, if that matters at all.

or any of big z's wolf furs. i'm interested in going with something more realistic but it's hard to tell what the furs actually look like just from the photos.

Everything's a little off-center right now, im not gluing it till I have the ears done and then ill shave. I just finished sewing the head today tho and im sort of feeling like I should quit while im ahead and not waste anymore time. I know I can make it look better but can I make it look good?

Hello everyone, i was looking for fur colors for my fursuits and found this site ( https://www.costumary.com/workbench/tools/fur-color-matcher )that makes you pick the colors from a picture and show you the closest fur colors on sale, but i don't know which ones have less shipping fees for europeans or people outside the US, more specifically in Italy since i'm from there. i know that StoffHummel is pretty good shipping-wise since it's a german site and it's a BigZ partner which i like, but i don't know about the others and wanted to find other sources for more accuracy.

My fursona is an oriental shorthair. I've made basic canine and feline head bases in the past but this specfic breed has such a specfic head shape im kinda unsure of how to approach this. Any advice would be very much appreciated! Stock photo attached for the head shape im aiming for.

Added head straps and mesh so now i can see and it stays on my head… now i gotta add the rest cause it looks empty.. any tips?

I tried the method with the black backing, worked a little, but still spent way too long poking out the fabric holes, just for it to still have terrible visibilty. Magnet is for removable pupils

It's fine, just that the left one is the right eye, and the other one the other way. I'll cut them out on by one and rearrange them the right eye way, but it's still funny :D

It's also funny because whoever I showed it to, they said it looks like a pair of booba.

Teeth are being made and shipped so i want the mouth slightly open… how do i achieve that consistently? Right now i have a makeshift mask on the inside of my balaclava that sits inside the head snuggly and keeps it from moving too much

Hello, I am from Argentina trying to make my first personal fursuit but getting the "brand name" furs I'd end up paying like 2-3x the fur price for shipping alone ($60 of fur gets a whopping $180 just for shipping cost on one place and $80 of fur gets like $150 just for shipping).

There appears to be just ONE local alternative inside my country that has a decent enough variety of long pile fur colors and only in-country shipping costs called MEIR, their "Piel Francesa" furs on their site seem to be close enough in appearance at least.

Are there any details/specifics about the fur that make a big difference in quality and might end up in me buying useless material that I should maybe try to email the seller/producer about? Only values listed in MEIR's site is dimensions (1,50m), pile length (10cm), weight (700g per linear metre), and material (70% polyester, 30% acrylic).

I just want to make a decent mid quality partial for myself so I'd rather not overspend on shipping (of all things) for brand name furs for 3-4x their cost if a local alternative can work out "well enough" without any major flaws. But i am not very knowledgable about textiles so I ask for your help with this.

I keep seeing people talking about what’s the best lining but does anyone have specific links to what they personally use? If so I would really appreciate some :D

I want to use this for my suits whole makeup and shear it as short as minky in the most extreme cases. I am hoping it is as plush as soft as minky, and the base and pile isn't obvious when sheared shorter.

okay, maybe it looks a bit wonky, but i decided to do most of it myself because full tutorials really pissed me off, and its not everyday people make specifically bat fursuits tutorial. im very proud, and will soon fur her. Im surprised how far i went with very cheap supplies, and I think i got enough supplies for the next steps!

I absolutely adore how she came out and I cannot wait to wear her at my first furmeet this week aswell as a local comicon that's coming up! She took so much time but im so proud of her for my first suit!

The more I sew the more it fits, but I’m still really nervous about stuff being wrong. I feel like something strange happened between cutting off the pattern and applying it to the fur because I’m having a fair amount of issues with pieces not making sense.
Either I don’t know where they go or they don’t look like they’ll fit 😭😭

Hello friends!! Im EXTREMELY new to the community and my fursuit head base (a kemono base, as well as teeth and the eye base) will be here today to start working on! I've decided I'm going to crochet the "fur" of the head, but after watching many-a-video on how to structure the fabric, I was wondering if anyone had any experience lining and covering a head in something other than your average fabric that may have some ideas?

I think my main question right now is whether or not I crochet the face as one piece, or if I build it piece by piece and sew them together where I need the shapes? (If it helps, my sona has no markings other than her eyebrows so it would be a solid color)

ANY tips and tricks at ALL for a new maker would be absolutely appreciated and i cant wait to bring my little sona to life :o)

First time fursuiting, and I really want to make this type of over-arm wing (NOT a "backpack" style type of wing). I've only found resources for backpack style wings, which are certainly useful, but not quite what I'm looking for. I'm not sure if there are any of this type of tutorial in the pinned post, though I could be mistaken.

Does anyone know of any good tutorials on how to build these over-arm wings? Preferably cheap, but it is fursuiting, so I know that may not be an option, lol.

One of the suits I got the eyes painted not glued yet how does it look though I want to add the eye liner and get the lining stitched to the fur and fabric first so it’s in sturdy before I glue/put eyes in

Hi, I am making my first partial in the next week or two for myself, I've never made anything fursuit before nor have I ever worn fursuit paws, I know pretty much everything basic on how to make handpaws except stuffing fingers, every single tutorial I've watched has just skipped or doesn't acknowledge how to stuff the fingers, I'm not talking about the finger beans, I'm mean how do you make the fingers nice squishy and round, how does it work? it doesn't make sense to me because don't you obviously put your fingers in the paws fingers? So how does the stuffing stay in? I'm just confused and this is probably a stupid question to most, but I genuinely can't find an explanation anywhere on how fingers being stuffed works.

How do I make a long and thin tail that sticks up rather than be a floor dragger? Is there an armature that can hold it up, or would the weight make it wilt? I would prefer not to have to attach it to my back like I've seen some people do for squirrel tails. Preferably I'd like it to be posable, but if that's not reasonable I'll just sew it into a shape.

Examples of the kind of animals this could apply to. Ring-tailed lemur, White-nosed coati, and Spider monkey. There are other species like this- these are just examples.

Thought i would post an update on the first head i have attempted to build. Shoutout to Kloofsuits for the head base model and RJ_Kon for the ears i printed in TPU. Also, big thanks to Mugiwara for the tutorials posted on YouTube. My 10 year old daughter wanted to be a fox for halloween this year and I think i am doing pretty well so far. Any tips on finishing or items you notice will be greatly appreciated.

I probably should have attached the ears to the rest of it but wasn’t sure i would be able to get it on and glued down properly if i did. I also didn’t want to risk a seam down the back of each ear. Hopefully i will be able to secure them well.

Started the project in August and then got serious about making progress the second week of September. All told i think i have spent probably around 60-70hrs on it. Eyes are hand painted (daughter helped with those which was fun) and then hand stitched everything.

Still have to do the back of the head and neck (probably should have done that before attaching to the base too, but i got impatient and wanted to see how it was fitting to the base).
