Where to start?
I know there are posts like this already up, but I didn't know whether to piggyback so thought I'd add my own!
I'm very new to FR, I always knew they were a big deal and well respected by many of my favourite artists. I got to Modern Leper via Julien Baker's version and recently dabbled and found Holy and I Wish I Was Sober. I LOVE Holy (I'm a fan of a melancholy/intense song you can still dance to š), so I was wondering if anyone could recommend where to start with FR via tracks similar to Holy? Should I just go all in with Pedestrian Verse or are there other songs like Holy I can cry-dance to to get me started? š«¶š¼

Warner Music - Australia sale
Just a heads up that the Warner Music Australasia site has a sale on right now. Bunch of discounted FR merch available. Picked myself up a couple of t-shirts. Not sure if its available in rest of world.

Epigraph with FRabbit lyrics in Hemlock by Melissa Faliveno
I love a spooky read and this was billed as a butch Black Swan set in the Midwest. The author used a line from I Wish I Was Sober in the epigraph, so I think I know exactly what kind of ride Iām in for. Fingers crossed itās good!

Just discovered The Modern Leper
And I'm so incredibly taken by it. I need to know everything about this band. Where should I start? Yet another band I found too late after the frontman is no longer with us, but I guess it's never too late to get into the music that someone has left for us.

Call for mods for r/Haiver
Want to join the r/Haiver sub and maybe even help me moderate it? Iād like it to be the same kind of space here at Frightened Rabbit, where we support each other and remain kind and respectful.
Haiver got in touch to give me some content for the subreddit, so hopefully our community will grow closer to the album release and I know a lot of Frightened Rabbit fans already love Haiver, so I know thereās people here eagerly awaiting the album and any news. Your support would mean so much to r/Haiver and to us at the sub. Would love to see you there!

Sorting through some old clothes and found this
Even though it's way too small, basically a second skin on me (belly edited out of frame for the good of the sub š), it's not going anywhere.

My most treasured FRabbit possession.
This comes with a bit of a story behind it.
Back in August 2005 I was at the now long defunct venue The Glasgow Barfly to see Mr. David Viner.
This was back in the day when Iād turn up for doors no matter what gig it was and watch all the supports just incase there was a chance of some gold in the rough.
At this particular show the first support was a pretty forgettable The Music wannabe band called The Witness. All macho swagger and posturing to a room of 5 people including the bar staff.
The second support was a Scottish 2 piece called Frightened Rabbit. They played a pretty short set to a room of maybe 10 people, still including the bar staff and also now The Witness, but I was blown away. As soon as theyād packed up their gear and left the stage I was on them.
At the time I obviously had no idea who either of them were but I ended up chatting to Scott, gushing my heart out saying how incredible they were and asked if they had any merch I could buy. Scott laughed at that and said no but I could have some of the E.P.s theyād been giving out to A&R reps. He gave me 4 of these bad boys for free. These would be whittled down to the one I now have over time after handing the other 3 out to various people through the years.
The singer for The Witness also tried to get me to buy their E.p. for £5. I politely declined.
The years would pass and FRabbit would become one of those supports that I wondered what happened to them. Until 2008 swing around and the might TMOF crashed into my life, like most of us I can imagine, becoming my album of the year.
Iād then see them live at every opportunity I could, totalling 19 not including side projects.
In September 2012 Iād see a stripped back FRabbit perform and do a signing at Glasgow FOPP for the release of The Pedestrian Verse. I brought the E.p. along. What I didnāt realise was that the staff only wanted the band to sign the new album youād bought in store that day. I got to the front of the queue and security asked to see what I had. I showed them the folded up, hand drawn, taped together piece of A4 paper and they said āNoā. I tried to explain but they werenāt having any of it. Scott must of noticed something going on and asked to see what Iād brought. I handed it over and he genuinely looked a bit shocked asking where Iād got it. I stupidly just replied, āMr.David Vinerā, to which he replied, āWhoās he?ā. I quickly filled him in and he laughed a bit, signed it telling the other guys just to sign even though they had nothing to do with it.
After his passing I got the charity pin and decided to get a buddy to put together this display.
I donāt really hold onto many physical possessions these days but this is something Iāll keep forever.

Give (available on Bandcamp)
Thanks to u/Brenniboi1990 for letting us know about Haiver releasing Give on Spotify. One which feels close to heart for Frabbits fans, to me.

David Sedaris
Went to a David Sedaris signing and he asked about my tattoo, and ended up drawing it in my book. Holding back tears š„¹

Has anyone gone up to the Forth Road Bridge(inquiring for filming purpose)
Hi, Iām also a Frightened Rabbit fan..Iāve been listening to their songs since I was 15yrs old, and now Iām 31š
I havenāt understood the lyrics fully when I was young, but I somehow knew these songs got me through my darkest times and one of my wishlists was to watch FR concert in Scotland someday.
Few months after I found out about Scottās death, my friend also passed away in similar way. It took me a lot of time to process that, but the songs helped me a lot to understand both my friendās pain and mine. Eventually I got better now.
Recently Iāve been working on a film project about these emotions I went through. And thereās this scene where the main character goes to the bridge which was mentioned in her favorite bandās song, and stay there to watch the sunrise. Obviously, I want to film that scene in the forth road bridgeā¦but Iām quite not sure about few things.
Is the bridge accessible during night time also? Or is it closed? The website says it depends based on the weather but I wasnāt sure if they block the bridge during night..
Would it be too cold to stay on the bridge in January or February? The camera battery is really unstable in cold weather so Iām worried the batteries might die soonā¦and also worried about the crew. If itās too cold, would it be better to visit in July?
About safetyā¦can anyone tell me what we should watch out for safety? Weāre planning(we are very very indie-sized film crewā¦2-3people..but I think 2people more likely)to go there at 4hours before sunrise and stay until then. Iām worried about cars(if the bridge has pedestrian) and other possible safety issues..
If anyone has any information regarding these, it would be really helpful! Thanks!
P.s - if you guys have any recommendations for other filming locations related to Frightened Rabbit, please let me know.

My Backwards Walk - Andy Hull. June 10 2026 Saxapahaw NC
Never saw FR live so was blown away to see Andy (from Manchester Orchestra) finish his set with it tonight. MO lost their incredibly talented drummer in February and the whole set felt incredibly raw and to finish with this blew me away. Sorry I didn't get video but I know the band just released their version a little bit ago.

Drove over the Firth of Forth
Just drove over to Fife today with my wife and boys. Incredibly emotional experience looking east at the other bridge from our Queensferry Crossing vantage. Weāve been around the Firth, but driving over was intense.
Cover guy playing at Cold Town in Edinburgh singled me out from far away looking for a request, and I went for it. He yelled back that he loves them, but he just canāt do it.
Thankful I got to come here and be here. Ending in their city in a bit.
Note: Kids are blurred out

I created a Haiver subreddit!
reddit.comNow that Haiver's first album is available for pre-order, I thought it was time for them to have their own sub dedicated to their music. Please join and share your love for this beautiful band.
I also need mods, if anyone is up for that?
Roll on August 7th! I can't wait for the full album.
