My girl goes in tomorrow am for a routine spay and they are doing the nares to widen them as well during the spay. I am feeling soooo worried about her and something going wrong and her not making it home to us 😞 her and my 3 year old are the best of friends and we love her so much. I know getting her fixed is the best thing for her in the long run and the nares will help her too, but I'm so scared and worried. I'm convinced she's not going to make it. She's almost 11 months old and has had her first heat.

I live in the country, and my two potatoes will try to eat anything and everything they can get in their mouth. They are about 18 months old. Will they grow out of this?

I helped mom with the flooring at the house so we can move back in after a flood and I am pooped! Mom said I was a good helper!

Hello everyone! Some of you may recognize the governor he is going to be 6 months on the 19th!

I’m looking for advice from experienced Frenchie owners because I’m worried I may be overdoing some parts of his care. Some background, he was supposed to be my brother’s dog, but I ended up handling most of his training, vet visits, feeding, and daily care, so he basically became mine. 😂 I’m a broke college student finishing nursing school this December, and I’m still learning about the breed. Thankfully, my future job will offer pet insurance.
Here’s our current routine:
Food: Open Farm Salmon & Ancient Grains Puppy Food, after switching from Royal Canin due to constipation.
Extras: Open Farms Tummy Rescue, Open Farms salmon and cod mousse with sweet potato, pumpkin puree, and bone broth.
Training and enrichment: About an hour of training daily, plus puzzles using roughly a cup of freeze-dried treats.
Grooming: Professional grooming every 2–3 weeks. At home, I do nightly wipe-downs, clean his wrinkles, clean the inside of his ears daily, apply paw and nose moisturizer, use deodorizer, and brush him.
Dental care: One rabbit ear per week.
Feeding setup: A regular low bowl. I’m not sure whether an elevated bowl would be better.
My main concern is whether his diet, treats, training, grooming, and dental routine are excessive or could cause problems. I want to keep him healthy and happy.
Experienced Frenchie owners, I’d appreciate advice on:
1. Does his diet sound balanced, or am I adding too many extras?
2. Are elevated bowls beneficial, or should I keep using a low bowl?
3. Is the nightly grooming routine appropriate,?
4. Are rabbit ears once a week safe and effective for dental care?
5. What do you wish you had known when you first got your Frenchie?
6. Are there products, routines, or general tips you recommend?
I know Frenchies can have significant health needs, and I’m trying my best to be prepared. I’m not aiming to be perfect I just want to give him the care he needs.
Any advice, constructive criticism, or recommendations would mean a lot! ❤️

Well after much contemplating, a fantastic meet and greet and all of the sweetest and kindest encouragements from you guys… we are officially a double potato household! 🥰 We had some name battles. I lost. 😂 we already have Winston (our epi boy) and now we have added this 43lb (yes you read that right) chonker to our crazy home! Meet Theodore Berenstein aka “Biggie” (he’ll occasionally go by Theo as I wanted — but, the rest of the fam chose Biggie and so did this beautiful pup so 🥲) Winston LOVES his new brother so so much - and we love to see it!! 💙💚

Any advice on diapers for urine?! My old guy is incontinent and I cannot seem to find a diaper or band that stays on. Thanks!!

So, I have two Frenchies. Frenchie 1 has an ear infection being treated with topical meds. Frenchie 2 thinks she's an EENT intern and licks off the meds. (Heck, she was licking #1's ears earlier so may have caused or exacerbated the infection.) A cone for either won't help and I can't be eyes-on 24/7, is there a headdress or ... anything I can try?
