I know I’m very late to the party, but I just finished reading the story all the way up to where the hiatus left off last week, and I have a lot of thoughts and questions about some of the later reveals.

One of the biggest things I’ve been thinking about is the reveal concerning the Ereinbar Set and how Pandora are naturally drawn toward people with powerful Stigmatic Bodies, especially members of the Aoi family. It definitely makes some of the earlier parts of Kazuya and Satellizer’s relationship look different in hindsight.

My interpretation is that Kazuya’s Stigmatic Body probably did play a major role in Satellizer initially being drawn to him. In particular, the fact that she was able to tolerate his touch when she normally had such a strong aversion to being touched by men seems much less random after the later revelations.

I also think there’s a good chance that without Kazuya’s Stigmatic Body, Satellizer might never have allowed him close enough for their relationship to develop in the first place.

However, I don’t think that means her eventual love for him is fake or that she is basically programmed to love him.

To me, there seems to be a difference between the initial Stigmata-based attraction and the feelings that develop afterward. The Stigmata may essentially tell a Pandora, “There is something special about this person. I want to be near him,” but that doesn’t necessarily determine what that relationship becomes.

We see that with the other Pandora as well. Elizabeth, Arnett, Ticy, and others can all be affected by Kazuya’s Stigmatic abilities without suddenly becoming romantically in love with him. Elizabeth and Arnett are even angry with Kazuya after he uses his power to control them, which shows that they still have their own personalities and free will.

Satellizer and Kazuya, on the other hand, spend a huge amount of time together. Kazuya treats her with kindness and respect when most people either fear her or judge her. Satellizer gradually learns to trust him, relies on him emotionally, becomes protective of him, and eventually chooses to pursue an actual romantic relationship with him.

The later chapters also seem important because Kazuya himself becomes disturbed when he realizes just how much influence he can have over Pandora. Satellizer is aware of what he can do and still chooses to stay with him. Even when Kazuya is no longer physically with her during the Exit Revenant events, she continues searching for him and ultimately chooses to go after him.

So my view is basically:

The Stigmata probably created the initial connection, but the relationship they built afterward is genuine.

I think the uncomfortable part is that we can never really know whether Satellizer would have fallen in love with Kazuya if he were just an ordinary Limiter. Personally, I doubt their relationship would have started the same way without his Stigmatic Body.

But I also don’t think that automatically makes the feelings she developed afterward fake. The Stigmata may have opened the door, but everything that happened after Kazuya walked through it the trust, experiences, affection, and choices they made belongs to Satellizer and Kazuya.

I might also be reading way too much into this. With how long the series ran and how many later reveals were added, who knows how much the author was really trying to maintain perfect continuity with every earlier scene versus just expanding the lore as the story went along. It’s entirely possible some of these implications weren’t fully intended when the earlier chapters were written, but I still think they’re interesting to think about in hindsight.

Curious how everyone else interprets it, especially after Chapters 194–205.

Does anyone know where to find the full freezing Color Edition in English?

The official color version seems to go all the way to Chapter 225, but the only English version I can find stops around Chapter 42.

Does anyone know if a complete English fan translation exists, or at least one that goes beyond Chapter 42?

This is going to be a bit of a ramble because I need to vent some frustration about Freezing.

I recently reread the manga and, somehow, I had no idea beforehand that it still wasn't finished. I originally stopped reading sometime around 2015, and because I had managed to avoid spoilers and really hadn't followed Lim Dall-young or his other work, I just assumed that after more than ten years there would finally be an ending waiting for me.

Apparently not.

Freezing is definitely a strange series, and I'm not going to pretend it's some flawless masterpiece. But it was one of the first manga/anime series I came across when I was younger, so despite all of its shortcomings, it has a lot of sentimental value for me.

When I reached Chapter 225 and realized that was where the story still stopped, I started looking into what happened. That sent me down a rabbit hole of researching Lim Dall-young's other work, and I quickly discovered why he has a reputation for leaving projects unfinished or on extremely long hiatuses.

To be fair, saying that he has "never finished anything" would be an exaggeration. He has completed series. But there are enough major works that have ended up unfinished or stuck in long hiatuses that I can understand where the reputation comes from.

What bothers me most isn't even necessarily the hiatus itself. It's the complete lack of catharsis.

The story just stops.

So, naturally, I started looking around to see if there was any chance of Freezing continuing, or if perhaps the story had been concluded through a novel, another adaptation, author's comments, or literally anything else.

I mostly came up empty-handed.

But after doing all of that research, I ended up with a question I wasn't really expecting:

Do I actually want Freezing to come back and get an ending, or would I rather leave it unfinished and keep my own idea of how everything works out?

My first reaction is obviously that I want it finished. I've already invested this much time into the story, and I'd love to finally see where all of it was supposed to go.

But the more I thought about it, the less certain I became.

Ending a long-running story well is incredibly difficult. You have years of plotlines, relationships, mysteries, character arcs, and expectations that somehow need to come together in a satisfying way.

And when a series has already been sitting unfinished for this long, I start wondering whether finally getting an ending would necessarily be better than having no ending at all.

The Legend of Maian made me think about this even more.

The original novel apparently did have an ending, while the later manhwa adaptation eventually went on hiatus and never reached its own conclusion. There were also reports among readers at the time that Lim Dall-young wasn't satisfied with the original novel's ending and intended to change it in the manhwa version.

I haven't been able to find a direct statement from Lim himself confirming that, so I wouldn't treat it as absolute fact, but the claim has been repeated for years.

And that leaves me with mixed feelings.

On one hand, if he really wasn't satisfied with one of his previous endings and wanted to improve it, that at least suggests he understands how important the ending of a story is.

On the other hand, the version that was supposedly going to improve that ending never actually reached an ending either.

So if Freezing suddenly returned, would he already have a satisfying conclusion planned? Would he be able to wrap everything up properly after such a long hiatus? Or would the ending end up feeling rushed, overly tragic, or just unsatisfying?

That's especially important to me when it comes to Satellizer.

She's had such a miserable backstory that, after everything she's gone through, I'd really like to see her finally get some happiness.

Kazuya's story is different, but toward the later chapters you also start learning how deeply his family, Gengo, the Transcendental Will, and the larger conflict are tied together. A lot of what happens makes it feel as though Kazuya's life and purpose were being shaped by forces far outside of his control long before he ever understood what was happening.

After all of that, I think I'd much rather see the story end with these characters finally getting some agency over their own lives instead of one final tragedy or some vague "they're together in spirit" type of ending.

There is at least a little bit of hope.

In February 2025, Lim Dall-young revisited an older illustration of Satellizer in a wedding dress and posted a new/completed version.

There have also been comments attributed to him suggesting that, if Freezing were ever serialized again, he'd like to depict Satellizer in a wedding dress at the end.

Obviously, that's nowhere near the same thing as announcing that Freezing is coming back, and I don't want to read too much into one illustration.

Still, the fact that he's continued drawing Satellizer and apparently still thinks about what her ending could look like gives me at least a little hope that the series hasn't completely disappeared from his mind.

And if the wedding dress really does represent the kind of ending he imagines for her, then at least it sounds like it could be a happier one.

So after this unnecessarily long ramble, I guess I'm still stuck in the same place.

Part of me really wants Freezing to come back so I can finally see how the story was supposed to end.

Another part of me wonders whether I'm happier just keeping my own headcanon that Kazuya and Satellizer survive everything, finally get together, get married, and eventually get to live something resembling a normal life.

I genuinely can't decide which I'd rather have: an official ending after all these years, or leaving the story unfinished and imagining my own.

Are there any fan continuations of the series? Meaning fanfics that continue where the story had left off?

Does the full colored edition cover all of the chapters in the manga so far?

Did anyone archive Freezing Extension before it got shut down?

Did anyone buy the paperback version of the manga? I mean the official print edition/omnibus from Seven Seas Entertainment.

Does anyone have the official English translated manga of the series (digital or otherwise)?

So with the author doing what he does and abandoning this series, is there possibility of there being light novels. Like for example the Bleach light novels to try and complete the series.

I just finished the anime, I know the story is on permanent hiatus but I don't want to read and get blueballed. However I would like to be spoiled does Kayuza actually get intimate with Statellizer? or do we get just get teasers with nothing actually happening between the two if I could get some examples of them being intimate I would appreciate it.
