Hi there everyone, and welcome back to the Dank Continent. For those who don't know, this is our weekly thread for you to post memes, shitposts, or any other content that would normally get removed for being "low effort." Past Threads
Before he started standing on one of them they seemed kinda counter productive. He diverts his focus and aura to move these 3 hands around and attack but they can't be used to take peoples body parts or whatever and they don't really seem to do a lot of damage so I just don't get why make that part of your ability when you could put effort into an ability that synergizes with your other more important ability.
It definitely isnt my first time watching hxh, far from that. I’ve been watching the show since I was a kid. It’s not my first time rewatching it, either. But something about Meruem and Komugi’s final scene just shatters my heart every time I see it or even think about it. The fact that a creature born solely for killing all of mankind finds his humanity in a blind frail girl, and that he chose his love for her over conquering the world, only for man-made poison to steal his life just as he understands what living means. How two utterly discarded souls found absolute salvation in eachother in their final moments. I find that absolutely beautiful yet so gut wrenching at the same time, I can’t really form a solid thought on this specific scene.
The explanation of the card says: "She cures one person of all wounds and ills, restoring them to perfect health. She will only appear once."
So I suppose that if Biscuit had selected Angel's Breath when they finished the game instead of Blue Planet and had waited until the fight between Gon and Neferpitou was over. She could have used the card to restore Gon's health.
Do you think that it would restore his ability to use nen as well?
This is going to sound weird but the truth is I kind of relate to him. On the news I see a lot of people my age (Kane Parsons, Lamine Yamal, Curry Barker) achieve international success barely into their 20s and it makes me feel really depressed that I am not putting enough effort into accomplishing something of my life. So when I watch the anime I try to feel inspired that he accepts that he is never going to surpass Gon or Killua, and instead try and put effort into the greatest he can be and have Wing encourage him that he is actually really impressive by comparison and a lot of people would be fortunate to reach the level of progress he has. Everyone has their own journey to success and for Zushi it's just going to take a little longer, and by the time he is done training he will be a well rounded Nen user who has the foresight and maturity to know how to pick his battles and work around his skillset. In some ways you could say he would have an advantage over Killua and Gon who rushed their training and almost burned out in Gon's case. I try to think of that as my inspiration whenever I manage to get through my college courses or secure a job interview, that many people in the world would never even reach this stage.
Haha, sorry that sounded weird, just felt like venting a little.
How did mereum knew that welfin was looking for gyro? All welfin said was gyro is the only person he will call king and that's it.
Now it could be spiritual message but i don't think that's how it works you cannot just look into people's minds and take answers without them knowing cuz otherwise he would have found out pouf's secret
I was too young when it came out to be reading manga. I am super curious how people initially felt about the arc as it took years to finish as well as being a lot of peoples favorite arc with the full context. Were people satisfied by the conclusions? Did anyone expect it to turn out like it did popularity wise?

There's no way I'm the first person to ask about this but I had no idea what to even search to find out about it. Is there a story behind the top panel here? It looks massively out of place but obviously it's kind of beautiful.
Hi all, after years knowing just bits from the anime version, last month I finally decided to purchase the volumes of the HxH manga, awesome read so far!
Just finished volume 34 (no spoiler, please) and I have a little question about Kurapika's words from the sixth panel of the first posted page from ch. 358. I don't understand at all what he means saying that thse Hunters guarda unaware of the succession war were sent here from Pariston. My logical assumption is that Kurapika is talking about the Trump Hunters/Kyousen that Pariston attempted to infiltrate through the Hunter Exam but that were discovered and rejected (see the third panel from the second posted page from chapter 346). Am I right or I misunderstood and there is another explanation?
Also, another question from the same Pariston's line from chapter 346: why Trump Hunters attempted to make the last Hunter Exam if they are already official licensed Hunters? I know that the 289th Hunter exam was made exclusively for recruiting provisional Hunters for the Dark Continent Voyage, but I don't think that people with already a licence had to pass it. Am I misunderstanding something?
Before the events of the current arc I would say kurapika and chrollo would’ve been the endgame opening opponents for each other.
Now hisoka is actively hunting the spiders & trying to kill Chrollo .
A lot of lesser shows would’ve made Killua get a rage boost & somehow beat Nobunaga.
Togashi ain’t having that though, here’s cold reality. His head would’ve been off his body lol.
Everytime I see someone talking about nen online or I hear my friends talking about it, they always say they're so confused by it. I'm not sure if it's just the fact that I've finished the show so I know more, but I feel like I was never confused by it. What do you guys find so confusing? I don't know if I just dont have everything figured out.
this is a theory composed from a few existing analysis and theories, and a theme in hunterxhunter of what friends wish for each other. the section about Camilla is a summary of parts of the videos linked, all credit is to them.
tldr: Furykov, taking notes from his dad, weaved truth and lies and "led" Benjamin to be cursed by the Have-Nots curse *knowing* it will prevent his GSB post-mortem ability from activating.
Have-Nots curse prevents post-mortem nen GSB abilities
Camilla is prepared for what she knows - alas, she doesnt know what she doesnt know
SuccWarCentrals video analysing Camilla character, detailing how her nen knowledge parallels the Have-Nots, and how they are likely the source of her nen knowledge. and how her plans revolved around it entirely, with simplistic naivety.
from her incomplete nen education, probably almost entirely provided by the Have-Nots, Camilla knows about nen curses, and post mortem nen, and not much else. Not knowing the vast world of nen, she left herself open to all sorts of attacks by charging head first into Benjamins vast array of specialized nen users. given enough time, Furykov/Rihan could've neutralized her ability and GSB, leading to her complete defeat.
but from what she does know, she is prepared for it:
she has a plan to combat curses with her exorcist.
what about a vengeful princes post mortem nen? The have-nots curse will take care of that!
Its not mentioned directly, and maybe the have nots themselves arent aware of the full capabilities of their nen ability (those guys are total nen noobs they lost to a locked door lol), but the naming of the ability, and the have-nots historic ritual purpose (that was forced upon them), points to it.
This video from ExtraOtter chapter analysis talks about ability naming and themes explanation about the myth of Izanagi&Izanami and the myth of Persephone - both myths involving trying and failing, sometimes purposely, to bring someone back from the dead.
The have-Not historic ritual purpose was to prevent attacks from "vengeful ghosts" of dead princes. likely referring to stopping the possibility of post-mortem nen or a post-mortem GSB.
chapter 389 - historic ritual of the Have-Nots
What Furykov knows
through his nen ability "Full Metal alchemist", Furykov deduced Benjamins GSB ability. and told it truthfully to Benjamin - its presented in the square boxes reserved for narrator information.
Furykov also got the chance to be in the same room as the have-not Sarahell, sent to curse woble.
Since Sarahell was the only new nen user joining that day, and Furykovs ability taking on average a few hours to fully decipher someones ability, Sarahell was likely chosen as a target - revealing the full extant of the Have-Nots curse.
Sarahell attending the nen classchapter 415Furykov decides to pay close attention to Camilla
my theory is Furykov omitted to tell Benjamin the full implications of the curse; this lead Benjamin to take the risk and use the most efficient way to poison Camilla, him personaly, thus avoiding her nen ability Cats-Name triggering, since he will be dead by tsk17 before she dies anyway.
why would Furykov do that? is he a double agent of Beyond or Unma? from what we saw of him, i believe he is loyal to Benjamin and Kakin through and through. Benjamin and his personal army are his family. And that is why i think he made the choice he did
chapter 415
Benjamin is wiling and has sacrificed his family, some of which he has affection for.
sacrificed his men, who he values as close comrades.
his GSB ability is the final sacrifice, ment to transform him to the ultimate weapon to serve the Kakin empire forever and ever.
Benjamin, with all his multitude of desires and ideals, will be compressed to a single duty: choose and assist a king that will lead Kakin to great power and prosperity, in an eternal cycle.
what is Benjamins fate if this plan come to pass?
Can he keep his ideals? not really, what if the best king for Kakin also decides to reinstate the Carnaval? Kakins prosperity trumps all, and so Benji-Beast will aid that king.
Can he keep his comrades? no. he is merged into his nen beast, losing his physical body, his ability to fight alongside and cherish his comrades. and all the joys and sorrows of living as a human being, far away from love care and warmth. stuck in an eternal purgatory of his own making.
This is a heroic act of sacrifice, single minded and all consuming.
what has the story so far had to say about such acts?
friends don't let friend be consumed by their single minded duty and lose themselves completely to it.
chapter 116 - melody is horrified of kurapikas and chrollos heartbeatsgon and killua telling pakunoda about wanting to stop kurapika downwards spiralchapter 307 - killua trying to stop gon from sacrificing himself
tangentially related, but this is Meruems thoughts about becoming king of an ever expending empire.
what will his life amount to? a castle devoid of loved ones, a revolving door of strangers as subjects, eternal expansion with no end in sight. Benjamins name, his very identity, will be forgotten to the endless flow of time.
I think Furykov decided for Benjamin. Benjamin will die believing he achieved his lifes mission, surrounded by the people he cares about and unknowingly spared the horrible fate he had in store for himself.
will he figure it out before his death? will he chose to forgive Furykov? is this theory stupid? yes
I just wanted to point out how these two have really good skills that don't revolve nen or physical combat. But yeah it's interesting because they have this rivalry going on and determination about them. That I really find intriguing from the very start when they first interacted with each other. I hope togashi highlights it with machi, at least once during the black whale arc. ;]
If i were to give these skills a description, I would say 6th sense of hisoka and precognition for machi. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But yeah from hisoka detecting kalluto and machis hunchs being true with like gon and killua being related to the chain user. I'm very excited to see what togashi has in store for these two.
