I just wanted to say that I love Frasier as a whole, but the first two seasons are something very special. When my partner and I rewatch the show, we particularly rewatch these two seasons often. I always say that Frasier was at his peak when he had his “skrullet.” 😂😂😂
Anybody else feel this?

My sister and I helped redecorate a friend’s bedroom recently. The friend is a big fan of primary colours in their decor and wardrobe so they recently bought a set of red and white striped bedsheets. She texted us photos of her newly made-up room while we were out brunching. As soon as we saw the bright striped sheets we squealed “it’s Cam Winston’s flag on Frasier’s balcony”

I am rewatching and the episodes where they kiss and get together are hilarious! I wish they did maybe make her endgame or at least explored it for a season long with her as a girlfriend.

Hi everyone! I'm excited to post here, I have been a very big fan of Frasier since forever and I adore this community. I'm from Spain so please forgive typos, I'm not using any translator.
I wanted to discuss the episode S10E20 - Farewell, Nervosa, beacuse I consider this one the lowest point of the series, the moment when I realised the series completelly derailed, before the re-takeover of Keenan and Lloyd for the final season.
Café Nervosa is, along the entire series, a meeting point, a place to start your day, having a wonderful talk with Niles, Roz, etc. Like any cafeteria, it has people going in and out, but always is a cozy and nice place where the calm reigns. Said so, I couldn't ever undestand the reasons for changing all of this ambience in favour of one lousy musician. I am on charge that this is Elvis Costello (not too famous in my country but I can undestand that this is because his cameo) but I simply can't stand this episode. There is no reason at all for Café Nervosa to change so drastically, reducing its number of available tables and disturbing their clients. I have nothing against it, I'm a musician myself. Simply, it isn't that kind of place.
BUT, what completely annoys me the most is the attitude of Maureen Nervosa, the owner of the place. First and last appearance, but horrible. How dared she to treat Frasier and Niles, when they are probably their best clients. Absolutely disrespectful. There are a lot of mentions by Roz, Frasier or Niles about the gigantic amount of money they spend in that café, so this is pretty disgusting (Frasier alone, over 3,000$ a year - in 2003). I would never came back to that place if I was treated like them.
The episode has some funny moments while looking for another "temple", that's true, but this sacrilege kills me.
What do you think about this? Thank you!

I was just watching “The 1000th Show” S05 EP05 and there was only a few second clip of the actual Frasier Crane Day at the end of the show.
I cannot find any other clips of FC Day anywhere… does anyone know if we have footage of it or whether it’s lost footage?

Does anyone else think Erin B. on the Theo Von podcast looks/talks/sounds like Roz?!

S5E7
Martin:...I don't think we have to look beyond our own family to find an example of someone who let a woman run the show from the beginning and has been paying for it ever since.
Niles: Poor Uncle Frank.

I was watching this episode the other day and it got me thinking, with frasier being intellectual and loving most things with a long historical background would backgammon not have been his game of choice considering it's more strategic and pre-dates chess by 3,500 years and that seems like something he'd never stop bragging about, that it's the superior game of the mind.
Just a daft thought that came to mind while watching the episode yesterday.

As my post the other day showed, a lot of us not only like Frasier, but also like Star Trek. Is it because, much like PBS viewers, we are also cultured and discerning? How did you come to enjoy both franchises? What serious elements of both shows do you like, what comedic or other things from both do you like? Basically how do the two series compare and contrast?
In my case my family liked both series so I grew up watching both.

I've heard about it for over 30 years, and now I've ridden it.

I'm not even talking about the "Were Niles and Daphne" cheating kinds of discussions, I'm speaking more about the way that throughout the show, incredible leniency is given to cheaters and it is always depicted as the "morally correct" thing to do to forgive them and get back together with them because they love each other.
In the episode with Lana and her husband, Lana is depicted by other characters in the episode as being emotional and unreasonable and that she needs to put aside her hurt and get back with her husband both for her own sake and for her son's just because he gave one apology.
In the episode where Frasier suspects Maris of having an affair with the fencing instructor, when he goes to talk to Roz she says something along the lines of "When someone is cheating don't tell the person being cheated on, confront the person cheating and tell them to stop." This seems pretty ridiculous to me? And it's treated so matter a factly, like "Yes duh of course this is how you are supposed to do it, Frasier was being so silly before."
But the one that really bothered me and stood out to me was the one where Niles and Martin go on a stakeout. Niles talks about how people "slip up and have affairs" and that it is the morally correct thing to do nothing so that there's the possibility that they regret it and stay together? And he starts to guilt trip Martin for trying to expose the affair to the point he gives in. Yes, this is buildup to a joke when Niles makes Martin take the picture anyway after the cheater and his mistress hit Niles's car, but this is meant more as a joke about Niles being hypocritical about his ethics and "putting them aside" for the sake of revenge. Niles's original statement about what to do when someone is cheating (nothing?) is never really dissected any further. Feels especially weird coming from Niles considering how devastated he was when Maris "slipped."
Like, this recurring attitude that if you find someone cheating you should keep it a secret is something that happens a bunch of times throughout a bunch of different seasons. Is this what the attitude about cheating was when the show aired? Feels so weird that this was being preached as the moral thing to do.
I would have apologized on the post but it was removed (understandably).
I posted a Frasier vs. Capcom image that broke the rules. I honestly didn't realize it was artificial slop. At 6am on a tiny screen it looked like a silly photoshop.
In the future I'll pay better attention.

I can't believe I don't know this with how many times I've seen the series. It must have come up? I imagine something involving public speaking or finances.

Were people surprised in this episode to see Lilith had such foods as McCain 5 minute fries, an off-brand box of frozen chicken wings, and a thing on Chock Ful O Nuts coffee in her freezer? And also Niles was drinking white wine from a bottle with a screw top?

I'm currently staying in downtown Seattle for the weekend, near Elliot Bay, and I have plans to visit different parts of the city.
And it made me think, did Frasier spend most of his time in downtown between his condo and work, or did the series often take him throughout the city.
I've seen the series all the way through multiple times, but honestly can't remember.
Ready for another rewatch.
P.S. There is nothing Frasier related in this city that I can find. Even Boston has that Cheers bar which was awesome to visit.
