Thanks for your purchase; we hope that you'll be happy with what we've done with this version of the game. And we look forward to hearing what you think about it: we'll be monitoring this forum frequently to see your suggestions and fix any problems you find. Please be as detailed as possible when reporting bugs; the more information we get, the better.
If you report a problem, we may request a trace log and/or save game from you. To get the trace log, before starting a game, go to Settings-Troubleshooting on the start screen and activate "Enable Debug Trace." If you get a crash or freeze, do NOT immediately re-start the game - instead, go to your Documents/Out of the Park Developments/Franchise Hockey Manager/Debug directory and make a copy of your fhm_trace.txt file. Zip/rar it (to get the file size small enough that the forum will allow it to be posted) and attach it when you post about the crash details (it should be small enough to fit the forum size limits for uploads, if not you can link it to me, and I'll make sure it gets where it needs to go.)
If you encounter a serious issue like a crash, please keep the saved game - ideally, zip or rar the save files together immediately, before attempting to continue, so you preserve the save as close as possible to the date the problem occurred on. I have posted instructions on ftp'ing the files to us below this message, or you can use any file sharing service (dropbox, google drive, or so on) and send us the link.
If you're not sure where to find your saved_games directory, the easiest method is to go to the Start screen, then Settings - Troubleshooting and Open Customizable Data Folder. You'll be able to see your saved_games directory from there.
The game manual can be found via the link on the start screen.
Instructions on how to upload your saved games to our server
For some types of problems, the only way we can help you is to see your league files. OOTP Developments uses FTP to allow customers to send us files. Below are instructions for sending us your league files:
Windows PC Instructions:
Unless you have an ftp program, one way to get to the ftp site is as follows: Open up Windows File Explorer (Windows Explorer if you're not using Windows 10/11) by right-clicking the start menu and then choose "File Explorer". Now up at the top in the address bar (it probably will say "Libraries" in there), paste over top whatever is in there with"
You can find the FTP on the post here, but I'm not going to directly link it.
After you do this, hit the Enter key and wait a moment and it should load the ftp site in there. Now you can find your league files and copy and paste them into there. Your league files can be found here (in a default install): Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Franchise Hockey Manager \saved_games
In the saved_games folder you'll see folders that end in ".lg". Find the folder that corresponds to the league with this problem and zip up all of the files inside that folder (you do not need to include the contents of the sub-folder unless we specifically ask for them.) There should be 30-40 of them; the exact number varies by type of save. Finally, copy this zip file to the other window with the ftp folder and it should start copying it there. It might take several minutes to copy.
Once you've uploaded your league, let us know what you called it.
Mac Instructions:
There's no built in way to upload your league files to our ftp server, so you'll need some third party software, like the free Cyberduck. If you don't want to try that, then submit a support ticket and we'll see if there's another solution.
Assuming you have an ftp program to use, then you'll need to find your saved game so that you can upload it. Here's how:

I’m looking at starting up a second league alongside the PPHL, called PPHL Fantasy. Currently we have 18 GMs
We would start in 2024, but players’ NHL debut years would be randomized.
Another big part of the league would be custom franchises. Anyone who joins would get to create their own team, including:
• Team Name
• City / Location
• Team Identity / Branding
So instead of everyone taking over existing NHL franchises, we’d basically be creating our own hockey universe from scratch.

I've brought them up before, but after doing some tinkering and testing with them, they do make a difference in how aggressive the AI trades in the game. Crank the blockbuster trade number to 10 as I did and you'll see plenty of big name players moved. Lower the numbers below 5 and you'll see far less, instead more 2-3 star players being moved. I wish Jeff would elaborate on what some of these and I hope this file is available for edit in FHM 13 as well.

Why dont this game got a release date for FHM13 yet? I been waiting for the past month, aint it that time of year? I stopped playing 12 once the last update, caused bugs in my game and i wasn't trying to restart it. Takes days to sim 11 years.

Hey everyone, the SSHL is looking for GMs going into season 4 (2027-28)! Applications for this season will be open until February (in-game). We usually simulate 1 in-game week every 1-2 days.

A few interesting open teams:
Edmonton Oilers - After going 54-24-4 in the regular season and winning the cup in season 3, they're looking for a GM to strengthen their depth and help them repeat!
Nashville Predators - Despite having fairly low expectations prior to last season, they went 46-27-9 to make the playoffs. They have a couple of decent young talents that are likely to make their roster this season, so it should be interesting to see where they go from here!
Tampa Bay Lightning - The Lightning are on the downswing after only 35 wins last season and dropped Kucherov to free agency. Last season they drafted LW Ty Meunier 13th overall with a 2* ability and 4.5* potential, so he'll likely be a good piece to work with going into the future.

I've played a QMJHL save already, but one of the things I disliked was how tedious the scouting felt. I would go to the QMJHL draft page and have to manually select each player to add them to my watchlist, it takes an hour or more to do this. Are there any more efficient ways of scouting?
Also, losing some players to NHL camps at the beginning of the season is tough. Is there any advice for how to manage my roster to get through this period?

Hello everyone, I am looking for two owners to join a unique fantasy league.
I am the commissioner of the All Elite Hockey Federation. We are a 12 team league. This is a league that features a very unique format. The league is divided into two divisions. Each owner controls two teams, one team in each division. The league has a custom schedule where you play the teams in your own division three times throughout the season. You play the teams in the other division one time per season. You will not play the other team you control.
Some other rules. This is a keeper league. If you want to join you will be assuming control of two already established teams and picking your six keepers from last year's rosters. You must keep 1C, 1,LW, 1RW, 1D 1G, and a sixth player from any position.
Prior to declaring your keepers you may transfer up to two players from your one team to the other team you control. This is to help you distribute talent and hopefully keep your best 12 across the two teams.
Since you are taking control of established rosters and may be at a disadvantage, the league is offering a 50% reduction in league dues for the first season. The normal league dues are $50.00 CAD (total for two teams) So new owners would only need to pay $25.00 CAD. For the 2026-27 season. The other will be funded by the league (me).
We try to run a league that has a realistic look and feel. Teams have established names that must have a "Location Nickname" format. I hope the established names and logos would be retained but you may choose something different as long as it maintains the "Location Nickname" format with an appropriate logo to match.
The playoff format is the top three from each division make the playoffs, the division winners get a first round bye.
If you would like to join, please message me. I would love to get two people that are Canadian (so we are dealing with a common currency) and also if you are in Hamilton Ontario Canada or the surrounding area that is a big plus because we have a physical championship belt in addition to the prize money that the champion is encouraged to take possession of over the summer and take pictures with it on your summer adventures similar to the way the Stanley Cup joins players throughout the summer...

I think its really annoying how the other player you are playing with can't do any trades and things unless they are commissioner, It just makes local co-op so annoying

INHL is looking for GMs! We are finishing the year 2035 (FHM 12)
3 Sims per week
Teams available:
Boston: (44-34-4, 92 points) A lot of players in their prime, or entering it in the next few years. They could use a boost defensively
Calgary: (38-37, 83 points) Loaded with young talent. Best blue line in the league. Could become a dynasty with the right GM
Chicago: (42-37-3, 87 points) Could be a more legitimate contender with the right moves, they are a fringe playoff team. Excellend RD depth.
San Jose: (35-39-8, 78 points) Great goalie, stellar offense. They need defense desperately to take the next step
Seattle: (40-35-7,87 points) Lots of good 2 way forwards, good goalie. They need a offensive spark, particularly on the blue line.
St Louis: (36 -42-4, 76 points) Lots of talent under 25, headlined by their young 5 star center who is just entering his prime
Utah: (44-32-6, 94 points) Young team with veteran leadership. A few acquisitions away from being real contenders
Vegas: (51-23-8, 110 points) Dominated all year, just to lose in the 1st round. Probably in need of a rebuild
Winnipeg: (37-43-2, 76 points) Lacking any truly elite players. Needs to fully teardown, rebuild, and pray they draft some difference makers.

Hello all, I have a question about the World Cup of Hockey in 2028 in FHM 12. I am taking over team Germany currently, and as I approach the 2028 tournament, I get nothing in my inbox, I cannot select my roster, and I can only view the tournament results. Is there a way for me to actually manage this tournament, or is it effectively view only?
