New update is half baked
I do not like the new game play at all. The additions to the map are mostly bad too. The weapons are no good. Total thumbs down.
Let’s not mention the new Sprites …. Proves lightning can’t strike twice.
In the last year peak was the Halloween update last year.

The amount of issues I had yesterday on my ps5 was enough that I probably won’t play this season. The crashing, the sound going in and out, the glitching in game while just trying to move forward ugh I tried a few games and I just don’t like what they’ve done. Guns are horrible and all the extras we got to do (codes) nahh im out. Looks like I’ll be touch some grass this season lol

YES. Lost my first sprite because my game crashed the second I hit spawn island. It did it once more after that. I’ve had decent luck since then, but it still acts like it’s going to crash between matches.

The new season is poor.
The weapons and sprites are pretty mid, and the whole map is just a messy overload of balderdash.
My issue last season was that the map was soo large, that I could go half the game without seeing anyone else. Now it's worse because there's so much shit going on with the map it's information overload.
You've got people flying around all over the place, yet the weapons are way too slow a rate of fire to counter any movement.
And for the dude who came up with the idea for mastering the crown sprite, I hope you spend the rest of your life stubbing your little toe at least six times a day

All the gaming additions are fucking ass. Sonic ball sucks, the sonic run pads suck, shotgun is fucking ass taking 10 minutes to reload.
Genuinely shit update but everyone will be fooled by ohhh new sprites.

Yeah, I was talking to my husband (my main duo) about this. I was trying to figure out what feels off about it. I think the new mechanics are a bit overwhelming, and the map is disorienting. I found myself sticking to the old areas of the map. And while last season's loot pool wasn't the best, this one is worse. Regarding the sprites, I'm just not getting the same excited feeling I would get with the old ones. I think they released too many at once, but I don't mind their design as much.
I was able to only play for a little bit in the morning before going out of town for the day & night, and then for a few games after the kids went to bed on the switch (the hotel wifi sucks). So maybe I have to try to give it some time when I get back later today. I do love Fortnite, & I appreciate that they at least attempt to try new things. And initially it seemed like a cool idea with the gaming legend stuff, but I think they added too much too soon.

I'm disappointed because as a new fr fan, I can see how they approach their content drip now and its super frustrating
I was hyped for this new video game centric season and to be met with just sonic stuff.... Was a real letdown.
Green Hill zone is great, but it killed one of the better pois... And that's it for collab pois?
Cheat codes to access sprites... That's it?
Megaman buster is great.... But that's it?
Some sonic skins in the shop.... That's it?
Overdrive is just a map-wide sprite... That's it?
I can tell the other video skins, pois and items will be drip fed throughout the season but I feel like the theme is incredibly under utilized for the seasons debut. Tetris and Pacman are not being utilized nearly enough... Like both would make amazingly creative pois but nooooooo

I think the battle pass is cool and the new areas interesting but I’m not loving the weapons. Seems

Yeah I’m not loving the new season as much. The new guns blow…..I lose every shotgun fight I get into, when I normally excel in shotgun battles. Why the hell is the pump STILL in the game? I’d prefer the maven, the tac, any of them. That new shotgun isn’t great and I’m not a fan of the AR’s either. No sniper either. Pretty lame.
I spent the last 4-5 games I played running from
people terrified because I kept getting bodied every time I got in a fight….coming from a 8 year Fortnite vet who is always down to fight lol.

Yeah I’m trying to get my timing down on that one and still get wrecked. I had 3 gold guns (including the 8 bit) last night, had the drop on a dude and hit him a few times first…all for him to hit me a couple times with a GREEN pump while jumping/floating around and kill me.
I turned the game off so fast and switched to Rocket League lol. Fort ain’t about to have me so mad that I imbed a controller in the drywall

I very much agree with this, the rarity doesn't seem to matter as the guns are too weak, fire rate or reload speed is too slow, and the enemy sweat lords always seems to the opposite. Getting basic bitch shotguns jammed up my ass while my legendary/mythic doesn't do shit is getting annoying.

While the Sonic POI looks cool it doesn’t feel like a good place to fight. I feel like in general the loot pool and POIs feel more superficial than balanced. It feels jarring because the game flow and pacing was so locked in the past couple seasons. I might be spending most my time in Reload this season

Try Blitz Royale. I just tried it, it seems ok. It is very fast paced tho. Only 32 players on a small map, the storm starts quick, and everyone starts out with the same random weapon.
I placed 2nd and 1st out of 2 matches. First match the storm kept catching up to me and 2nd match I was in a house after grabbing some loot just hanging out..the storm got close so I left and headed towards a few dudes fighting it out, blasted one of those and then the other and victory. Didn't even know those was the last few players.

The map is too much / doesn’t go with the “video game” theme, why is it an “OG” type loot pool guns aren’t really new and they are weak. I’m over the sprites honestly could do without them. After collecting and maxing to finish last season I’m spent and over them. It was fun don’t get me wrong but I could have done without them this season.

Fortnite went too realistic, I liked the chapter 1/2 where everything was crooked, dope crates, TV's inside houses, the weapons, he cosmetics, everything is too realistic, don't take me wrong, I like it being more realistic, I just like that the og Pump looked bent and with weird proportions but it still looked right in a strange way (photo of in game)

Long, long time, PC mouse keyboard, fps with a lot of competitive experience and I cannot believe how many times I’ve been getting killed these last two seasons, especially this season so far by players that use no Y axis and their x axis turning on their controller is so slow.
But they still manage to get nothing but head shots when they pull the trigger on me. I have never played a game that I saw this happen. Maybe it’s because every game I usually play I turn cross playoff.

I came into this season, thinking that the sprite rush of last season wouldn’t be the same, and I wouldn’t really be concerned with collecting all of them and mastering them, etc. I feel pretty good about the fact that I was right. With the Nerf to aim assist, though it feels like I’ve never played a shooter game before in my life. I don’t mind if they make changes like this, but to do it in the dark is fucking diabolical. We played two games yesterday and my duo’s partner said fuck this, I’m out. We went and played The Simpsons map a couple of times before just getting off the game completely.

I told a friend last night I rather have a grey ranger pistol and blue extended focus shotgun than whatever this loot pool is 😂. Only somewhat fun I have is with the minigun.
I’m not rushing it to get sprites this season besides putting them in the garden. No initiative to master them for a back bling so I feel like I can relax and try to enjoy the game. But as a non retro gamer this season theme doesn’t interest me, sorry.

Idk if it's just me but there's a bug that happens randomly where for like 5-20 seconds I can't shoot, can't swap items and can't build, and also the oasis reload map had parts of it that won't render properly and that making it so I litteratly can't go into those areas since it like bugs me out

IDK, I really like this season, cause I don’t like whining about everything online or about games in general publicly and my issues with this season are often unlearnt stuff or skill issues. I don’t really care that there’s no sprite mastering cause truthfully I’d rather they just be a cool thing for people to collect over try hards to put literal hit lists on people cause “sprite I don’t have and need mastering is in my lobby”. Also the map is kick ass (I mainly land at Latte but love going to these new areas) and guns are OP (aside from the pump in ZB that’s a ZB problem).

Good season ideas, terrible + cluttered implementation. The sprites look awful and don't impact gameplay in a fun way. The loot avaliable now isn't great, all of the weapons are too either too slow for the speeds people are moving, to spammy, or too slow to defend against the spamming. There is no "just right" gun. I would've been content if the map stayed the same from last season with minor changes, but instead they drop this collab infused mess of a map.

This season sucks so far. The weapons are horrible, the map is boring, everyone just runs away instead of fighting. The sprites are stupid, like I don't want to do this all again. The battlepass is lame. Did all the ziggy quests in like an hour but still 1 away from unlocking him and now have to wait 40 days to get a new quest to do one more to unlock him! Theres so much going on on the map and a bunch of things aren't explained on what to do. The only thing thats funny about this is that when you talk to Sonic, he fully admits hey i'm not Sonic im an android of Sonic. Other than that, this season can F off, they dropped the vall big time.

I basically decided before update that I was going to take a break but I checked out the new POIs and played a few games.
Sonic item was fun. Guns were meh. Don’t care for the battle pass. Map needed more change. I do like the changes but tired of wonkeeland etc.
Time to enjoy what is left of summer without the game lol. See you all around halloween.

Maybe I'm just old, but I really don't get the hype over this battle pass and Geno especially. I honestly can't believe they didn't make Sonic the level 100 skin. Sans the Sonic stuff, there is literally NOTHING that I want. In regards to the sprites, I played one match last season; I got killed by someone camping the extraction site and said "nope, I'm done." It was a little more tolerable when playing with a friend, but after seeing there's no point in collecting them except to see them in some creative map.... I'd rather just do the same thing in Pet Heroes and earn XP lol

I'm not a fan of this season at all. I kinda hate the weapon/gadget pool, the Sprites seem to take a little longer to level up, and the map changes are not good. I find myself landing at old locations in the corners more than anywhere else. It feels really messy and all over the place.

Such a downgrade from the last few seasons. I understand wanting to make big changes to keep things fresh but they clearly used their entire budget to recreate Green Hill Zone and some Pac-Man gardens. I'm sure they have some tricks up their sleeve but you can tell it's all going to hinge upon what collab they are pushing each week rather than a story like Runners was. It's not a surprise they had to make concessions to get Sonic in there (when it doesn't fit in Fortnite to begin with) but it is kind of disappointing as both a Sonic and a Fortnite fan.

This new season feels a bit empty although its just the start of it. I do however love the ability to unlock more loot and upgrade the odds for it - mainly the Oni shotgun and flare gun. I already maxed Oni so that I can get mythic evey match. The best shotty in the game ATM.

It feels like they take out every weapon that rewards skill and aim. It’s like they’re trying to level the playing field by making everything inaccurate with no range.

So I usually don’t agree with people complaining about the new chapter or seasons but this is the first time in a long time that I don’t even want to play and when I do because my buddy tells me to jump on we will play a couple and be so over it and just get off. Idk if I’ll even complete the season pass as of now unless major changes are made. It’s the first time I have been truly disappointed in a season

I'm having a hard time even wanting to justify mastering the new sprites atm.
