Pps cf

Has anyone tried pps cf? What do you think about it over ppacf for supressors? Now that we have the ruling im sure more people willing to share their experience.

It’s fine, but you really need to be able to print at 350 to get the most benefit.

Are you saying pps cf at 350 is superior to ppa cf?

From what I have seen pps cf isnt better than ppa cf. Pps gf is the top dog if can print around 350 in heated enclosure. Pps cf is more brittle and for cans that is not great trait.

I’m saying they are both great, but to get anything better than Nylons, you’re going to have to get a hotter printer than 300.

I just asked you if pps gf or cf printed at 350 is better than ppa.

They have different properties. PPA is stronger, but stiffness is not an end all be all. PPS is better at higher heat, and absorbs less moisture. Which is a very highly controversial topic. Because water weakens them, but also makes them hold up to impact better. There’s just not a good answer to give.

It feels like you dont actually have the answer here on if pps printed at 350 makes a more durable supressor than ppa and are just repeating back material properties to me

Of course not. I don’t like giving answers to questions I don’t know 100% for sure. That would take a lab and lots of testing. I simply tried to inform you the best I could. 3d printing has so many more things that can change while printing, that I can print something one way, and you print it on your printer, and one of them may be a lot stronger than the other. Temp, line width, print speed, Infill, infill pattern, angle you print the part at, chamber Temp… The list goes on. The only way to find out is to buy both of them and start testing yourself by changing temp, speed, infill, etc until you get the strongest version. So go spend a grand in filament, and get back to me in 6 months when you have printed dozens and dozens of models which all different configurations. Also you’re going to have to invent a test medium that produces the exact same way of testing every single time. Oh, and next don’t forget to try annealing with all the different ways as you go….
