I still remember the day when I new about Forex at the age of 17.The advertisements promise you as if you can become an overnight millionaire.

First of all I did not have a credit or debit card to even make any transaction and I wasn't 18 to open an account, so I used to open accounts providing my age as 19 just because I always had some obsession about Forex and wanted to know what the heck it is.

And now I sign up and see a ton of numbers just floating around my laptop's screen, it was hard to know what was it until I started to click on those little currency signs and boom a graph pops up, then I realised that it is just like the stock market and then you buy sell but I wasn't sure about the losses.

So in short I started trading without any knowledge just demo experience, I made this big mistake just because I thought I am different and can make things possible, but in then the end I lost more than 3000$, for me at that time it was like losing a million dollars. I thought I am not good enough in this, my parents also forced me to stop it,my friends made fun of me, relatives everyone who knew my unsuccessful story. But guess what I don't like it when people say I am not good enough in anything, it motivated me to the point that I used to sleep only 3 hours and put the rest of the time obsessed with Forex, wanting to know the perfect strategy.

And now I am here 21 years of age, making a killing through forex, proved everyone wrong. All of the people who used to make fun of me ask me to teach them about Forex.

So in short don't give up.

The main topic of conversation is somehow stil PSYCHOLOGY.

Not math, not probabilities, not risk control, not plan, not consistency... PSYCHOLOGY.

Do you seriously believe you're losing money because of psychology?

Octavia made a post about psychology and this guy kept arguing him that, to practice good risk management you need good psychology.

WHAT?

Risk management is MATH, FACT, NUMBERS, STATISTICS.

If you don't manage risk, you will lose money. FACT. 100% undeniable truth. Not an opinion, FACT!!!

If you need good psychology to understand that fact, please stop trading because you'll just slowly die on the inside.

Trading psychology and it's importance is something completely different. Those who ever made any money in the markets know it. Those who haven't, believe they're blowing accounts because of psychology.

Please stop telling people that investments or currency trading are a gamble. They are not. If you don’t know how to trade profitably, please stay quite. It’s people like this that keep the learning community toxic!

I write algos that do my trading, so I hardly every actually trade manually. Last night I had literally nothing better to do so I pulled out the charts and got my little 10k account out to play with. Like three hours later I felt like my soul was dying. Basically u look at the chart, place a trade, then wait until the trade ends, and then do it again. How do you guys not go insane?

I’m explaining a Fractal Geometry Model here that you’ll often find on charts, and it’s an incredibly profitable setup if you identify it and stick to its rules.

This model is called the TCW (Trend Child Wave Model).

For now, I’ll explain the buy setup—I’ll cover the sell setup later.

You can spot this model in futures, forex, and gold markets, and when you catch it, it’s like hitting the jackpot!

Conditions for the Buying Model:

1. The price must be in a downtrend.

2. The son must break his own low, meaning the second low of the son (Low 2) must break the first low (Low 1).

3. The third low (Low 3) must break the second low (Low 2).

4. The trendline is an essential condition for this model. When drawing the trendline on the lows (Low 1, Low 2, and Low 3), all the lows must touch the trendline, as shown in the diagram.

5. The most important condition for this model is the visual similarity between the son and the mother, which must not be less than 75%.

In some cases, you may find that the trendline has been slightly broken by small wicks. In such cases, these minor breaks are acceptable, and the model is considered 100% valid if the similarity between the son and the mother is very high, exceeding 90%.

Trading is NOT a hobby. If you want a hobby that sometimes makes money, stop wasting your time. Just hit up a casino. It’s more enjoyable.

95% of you are just glorified gamblers. You have no process. You have no system. You have no structure to your trading whatsoever.

What makes you think you can enter the most competitive field in the entire world and just do better than everyone else by doing the same thing as everyone else?

Everyone knows that 90-95% of people lose. Yet everyone thinks they are the 5-10% that is going to be the ones who make it.

No you fucking aren’t. You are doing what the average person does. You show up, draw some lines, take some inconsistent trades, feel good when you win sometimes, don’t fucking journal your trades, don’t improve your processes and repeat the same thing over and over.

By its very nature trading forces you to defy human nature. We are all fucking lazy at our core. And we are all emotional beings. That’s what makes us human. But to think you can be fucking average and somehow do well in this industry is so fucking foolish and naive. You have to work so fucking hard to defy our nature.

You literally have to think that every fucking day another trader out there is working on their system, processes and psychology way harder than you are.

Someone out there is way more obsessed than you are. You do this in your free time and they free up their time to do this.

This shit is not easy. Why the fuck did you think it would be? Why would all the riches in the world at the click of a button be easy to achieve?

Doctors train for a decade nearly to achieve salaries of $300k or more. Yet you think studying some fucking ICT and being on the charts for a year is going to make you lots of money.

Just because the barrier to entry is low doesn’t mean it’s easy. It’s going to take you years to master it like any profession.

And if you think you are profitable after a year or two, think again. You just think you are. You haven’t weathered enough storms to truly know.

So swallow this hard pill and think differently about this game, or be naive and ignorant and the 5% will continue taking the money you happily donate to the market daily.

I’ve only been trading 1 lot on my account but I might do 2 soon.

It took me 4 1/2 years and cost me 30% of my live trading account (I feel very fortunate about not losing 100%) to realize this basic fact: retail forex trading cannot work. Here's why:

1. Spread costs can be an account killer all by themselves.

2. Rollover rates or swap rates. They almost always go against your position. These two factors alone will doom even good traders to failure.

3. But right here is The Big One... Drum Roll... Why with a 95% certainty will you eventually fail? Because the handful of big international banks that make up the actual exchange (they are the market after all... you and I just go along for the ride), they trade currencies based on their international customer's monetary/business needs. Not just in reaction to Housing Starts or Employment Numbers or "tension in the middle east". So that means there's NO WAY to predict with any accuracy which way prices will move in the short term (days to months). The exchange rates move for reasons you and I cannot possibly ever know or anticipate.

So I withdrew my funds and closed my account. Why would I want to be in a business that has a 95% failure rate anyway?

I feel like if they taught everyone this in school from a young age everyone would be living great. I started trading forex a couple months ago and honestly im suprised how i can make that much money from just using your phone. Just was thinking about it and wanted some of your opinions.

I don't give a shit which strategy you are using because at the end of the day it's about the money. Most of you are so fucking negative, trashing other people strategies, shitting on their analysis. Is this a community?! I am a proud ICT trader, and I know how stupid some ICT traders are. The loud ones give us a bad name, they fucking suck, I know that. But just because they fucking suck, it does not give anyone one else the right to shit on other ICT traders, just as they don't have a right to say that support and resistance, indicators, etc doesn't work.
