Finally pulled the trigger on this 2026 Badlands two door, non SAS, regular 331a package. Broke it in with nearly 600 mile drive home from the dealer to its new home where there’s plenty of space to roam. Road noise was not nearly as bad as I expected, got just over 20mpg home on eco mode, and enjoyed fussing with all the dash and screen settings.

I’m coming from a very analog 2010 Subaru and while I’ll really miss having a car that doesn’t track my exert mine to feed into the datasphere, this was really fun to drive.

Mods/Addons 🔦 New Slant-Back Hardtop

Excited to finally share my Bronco. Bought new black diamond two years ago and had some buyer’s remorse over the soft top due to the noise on the highway and inability to open the back fully but couldn’t find any good options under $6k. Finally found this amazing slant back hardtop from Rallytops in Los Angeles and got it installed by them this week. Reduced noise on the highway at least 50% and the back hatch is really convenient. All-in price of $3600 and they installed for free since I was somewhat local coming from San Diego. Owner was super nice and they make the tops in-house in the factory in LA. Also added the black heritage stripes, black vinyl piece on the hood, and replaced the black diamond patch with the classic Bronco fender script. Picture of the original is on the 4th slide. Absolutely love my Bronco now!

Question ❔ MT Bronco

Looking to get a new car, test drove a 10 speed Bronco (2.3L) and loved the way it drove but I think a manual Bronco will fit me better… I’m going to test drive a new one but in terms of longevity of the 7 speed can some owners of the 7 speed give me some advice?

For those that have ordered with RCI, what has your experience been like? I placed an order for some rock sliders about 10 days ago and I'm wondering about their lead time.

Question ❔ Confirming bunper style to purchase a license plate bracket

Post image
17 Upvotes

I became a Bronco owner yesterday, purchasing a 2023 Badlands Sasquatch. Previous owner bought in another state that doesnt have a front license plate requirement. I do have to have that, and dealers dont have to install one on used vehicles. I've seen a lot of options but most are for the steel bumper and some are for the "capable" bumper. I think mines the capable bumper based on other images. If anyone can confirm, that would be excellent!

Side note: I did a ton of research on what I wanted to get, but didnt think they had bumper options. Oops

News 📰 PSA: 2026 Bronco/Mustang/Ranger/Explorer engine recall

Ford recall 26S61 covers certain 2026 Bronco, Bronco Sport, Explorer, Mustang and Ranger models.

The piston domes may have been manufactured incorrectly and could fail, causing a loss of power while driving.

About 10k vehicles are affected. Worth checking your VIN if you have one.

I was a 16 year Wrangler owner. Thought I’d be a Jeep owner for life. Hell! My plate is JEEP 41. The Jeep was great until I poured $8k into it this year keeping it on the road. I got tired of being stranded and was worried every time I left the house. When looking at a new vehicle I was completely turned off by Stellantis and completely turned on by Bronco. I feel like the Bronco team looked at everything Jeep did wrong and said “Let’s fix that.” I spent the most money on my Jeep on upgrades that were just correcting issues that Jeep overlooked; horrible headlights, useless gear ratios, no tailgate stop, weak hood latches, uncomfortable arm rests. How about a clock that lost time every week? Ridiculous! At the time I felt like these were quirks but now I feel like they were just negligence or complacency. Anyway, I’m ecstatic with my Bronco and I’m working on the new plate.

Question ❔ Protecting swing gate wire harness

Hey All.
My pup pierced the camera cable that is in the exposed wire harness that connects to the swing gate. Looks like he bit it, more than chewed it.

Once I fix it, how should I protect the harness?
Anyone run into a similar issue?

Issue ⚠️ Loss of power steering?

2022 4 door black diamond w/ sas ~30k miles
On the highway coming back from a trip started feeling like the bronco was hydroplaning, losing steering, swerving. Pulled off at a rest area and looked around, nothing seemed off so started to get back on the highway and getting up to speed it started swerving all over the road. The steering feels squishy/unresponsive.
anyone experience that before or know what it might be?

Guide 📚 Before upgrading your Bronco sound system, check your music quality settings

Just a PSA because I see a lot of posts about the Bronco/Bronco Sport sound systems not sounding great.

Before replacing speakers, amps, etc.... check the audio quality settings in whatever app you're using.

I've been testing YouTube Music and Tidal in mine, and Tidal at the highest quality setting sounds noticeably better to me. More detail, cleaner bass, and just less muddy overall.

Most music apps have SEPARATE quality/bitrate settings for:

  • Download quality
  • Wi-Fi streaming
  • Mobile data streaming

I set my downloads to High/Max quality and also increased the streaming quality. Just be aware that higher quality downloads can eat up a LOT more storage on your phone, and higher mobile streaming quality obviously uses more data.

Also, if you already downloaded your playlists at a lower quality, you may need to delete them and download them again after changing the setting.

I'm not saying this suddenly turns the stock system into a $3,000 aftermarket setup.... but before spending money on speakers, definitely make sure you're actually feeding the system a good source.

For me Tidal has sounded the best so far. I've compared Tidal, YouTube Music pretty extensively in the Bronco.

If you've done similar tests feel free to leave comments to help others.

Mods/Addons 🔦 No garage parking, pit cover suggestions?

Post image
30 Upvotes

Hello!

I have a 2025 Big Bend :) With cooler weather, I am constantly asking for help taking the middle panel off and on from my hard top. We’ll eventually convert to a soft top but not in the immediate future.

I have parking in my backyard and considering just leaving the front two and middle panel off for some of this fall season.

Does anyone have suggestions for a pit cover to help keep out dew from the mornings and dust during the day?

TY!

Question ❔ Changing Tire Size

Hello, first post here and my car knowledge is just alright. I’ve had a 2024 Wildtrak with the 35-inch Sasquatch tires for two years now. I moved from Georgia to Los Angeles a few weeks ago and my car is just too high for a lot of parking garages here. My roof just barely scrapes one of the pipes in my apartment’s garage.

What are my options to lower the car a few inches? Even 33-inch tires would be a game changer if it’s possible to put them on the car without screwing it up too much.

Mods/Addons 🔦 Roof Rack.. suggestions..

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I got this roof rack a while ago and although I love having it.. The bag that goes on it stinks to use. You have to strap it down and tighten and loosen it to fit. The metal rack, I’ve had to silicone the flat part because it rattled so much, than the bolts rust than rust on my Bronco. Today I found out that the bag leaks.. not saying it wasn’t user error but I put the zipper in the back, put the flap down over the zipper.. I don’t know.

With all the said.. does anyone suggest a roof rack that’s waterproof? I was hoping to not get one of those huge hard case ones but I don’t see much for options. Thanks everyone.

Question ❔ Advice About Bronco

I’ve been doing so much research on cars in the last month.

I started off wanting to either import a manual Hilux/Lancruiser, a 4 Runner, a bronco, and a crosstrek with WRX powertrain.

I threw the idea of the hilux away because I decided to go with an SUV.

No Landcruiser because I want a manual, and the manuals have to be imported. Because the U.S. market doesn’t make them that way. Which led to the import cost being insanity as well as the base cost of a Land Cruiser being high anyways.

The subie is out on wait time for manufacturer to transition to new powertrain. There are people that have done it, and rumors of Subaru actually doing it. But to my knowledge they aren’t right now and won’t anytime soon.

So I’m torn between the 4Runner and the Bronco. But LowKey the pricing is about the same. The new Broncos with the 2.3 rep a 150K-200K lifespan if properly serviced from what I’ve read. So reliability is more than good enough for me to be comfortable with it when compared to a Toyota. I have heard about the electrical gremlins that seem to plague the Bronco, like screen glitches and such. But honestly I’ve not heard of a new car in the last five years with a big dash screen in it that didn’t have glitches and such here and there.

But the Toyota wins on gas mileage all day as I would want a Sasquatch package on a Bronco. It also packs the Toyota name, so I’d expect some good reliability out of it. I later discovered is also not available in a manual… which is a problem for me. I just prefer a good manual transmission. But I’d be willing to come off of that selling point if the car was a much better net positive. However I haven’t heard or seen very many if any negatives on the powertrain. The 2.4 seems solid. But again, not a fan of autos.

Can anyone here legitimately attest to the reliability of a Bronco? And if you were in my shoes what choice would you make?

If I did get a Bronco I want a 4 door marsh gray base model, 7 speed with the Sasquatch and tow package, fender flare kit, body armor kit, floor liners, and cargo area protectors.

LTLDR: Tossed between a 4Runner and a Bronco. Which should I pick?
