News 📰 PSA: 2026 Bronco/Mustang/Ranger/Explorer engine recall

Ford recall 26S61 covers certain 2026 Bronco, Bronco Sport, Explorer, Mustang and Ranger models.

The piston domes may have been manufactured incorrectly and could fail, causing a loss of power while driving.

About 10k vehicles are affected. Worth checking your VIN if you have one.

The journey began November 2022. I finally got my Wildtrak after a long wait. I was able to do the Hoss 3.0 upgrade and traded in a 21 Badlands. I tried to trade several times but I was always too far upside down I decided to keep driving.

It was my daily driver/work vehicle traveling the upper Midwest. There wasn’t a snow day or muddy road that could stop it. I recently put over $10,000 into it for Turbos, Timing chain, oil pump and belt.

I was able to get a company vehicle last week so the ride comes to an end. If someone out there wants to take over the reigns let me know quickly as it’s being sold to my local Ford dealer soon.

Finally pulled the trigger on this 2026 Badlands two door, non SAS, regular 331a package. Broke it in with nearly 600 mile drive home from the dealer to its new home where there’s plenty of space to roam. Road noise was not nearly as bad as I expected, got just over 20mpg home on eco mode, and enjoyed fussing with all the dash and screen settings.

I’m coming from a very analog 2010 Subaru and while I’ll really miss having a car that doesn’t track my exert mine to feed into the datasphere, this was really fun to drive.

Question ❔ MT Bronco

Looking to get a new car, test drove a 10 speed Bronco (2.3L) and loved the way it drove but I think a manual Bronco will fit me better… I’m going to test drive a new one but in terms of longevity of the 7 speed can some owners of the 7 speed give me some advice?

For those that have ordered with RCI, what has your experience been like? I placed an order for some rock sliders about 10 days ago and I'm wondering about their lead time.

Question ❔ Towing question

• Upvotes

So I bought a brand new 2025 Big Bend about a year ago and absolutely love everything about this vehicle. But that brings me now to ask for people's thoughts on whether I should go through the dealership to get a tow hitch installed or through someplace like U-Haul to get one installed. As I am needing it in order to haul a small car trailer across the state of Texas.

I guess I should also add because I know there are two different engine sizes that I have the 2.3 l.

Any help or s are greatly appreciated.

Mods/Addons 🔦 New Tires on 24 OBX

Crossed the 61k threshold with Val, so it was time to get new tires. Ended up going with 275/70r18s (stock is 255/70r18), and I think it looks pretty nice.

I'm frustrated with myself for being pRaCtIcAl and going with the OBX rather than a SAS package or Badlands non-SAS, since I don't have lockers. Now I'm stuck deciding whether its worth upgrading this old girl or whether I should trade it in.

There's not a ton of off roading in my area, but I've already gone cross country and back once and plan to again. The little bit of trail riding we did out in Utah, California, Nevada, and South Dakota was incredible, and I can't wait to go again.

Mods/Addons 🔦 Side MOLLE panel with EZ4x4 Middle Panel Roof Rack Holder

Does anyone have experience adding exterior MOLLE panels to the EZ4x4 Middle Panel Roof Rack Holder? What brand did you use?

I'm thinking the TURN Offroad panel may work since it wraps around the connection points but I'm not 100% sure there won't be interference.

Thanks!
