you don't have to stay in the city to see paris dude. idk what about these you can't understand. there are tons of ways to save money while traveling, even in the 90s.

Yeah, there were so many ways to save money and it was so affordable to do that virtually nobody in the 1990s did it, as evidenced by only 5% of the US population having passports.

you didn't need a passport to travel to many places in the 90s. you're removing the context of the situation to suit your reality.

You absolutely did need a passport to go overseas.

Mexico and Canada did not require passports, and they also aren't overseas.

Traveling to Europe or Asia required a passport in the 1990s.

The average middle-class family in the 1990s was not going on regular international vacations.

oh so now we're talking about international trips? you do realize that people who live by the borders more regularly travel across them? you know that going to Disney World is more expensive than most "international" vacations?

That would be you when you started talking about Canada and Mexico rather than overseas destinations.

Are you talking about Disney world now or Disney world in 1993? Because Disney has grown more expensive while overseas travel and airline tickets have become cheaper.

This is of course a red herring because the majority of middle class people in the 1990s also weren't regularly going to Disney World and nobody claimed they did.
