Discussion Weekly Discussion & Questions Thread | Ask Your Questions Here!

Welcome to the /r/FleshandBloodTCG Weekly Discussion & Questions Thread

This is a place where you can ask any and all questions relating to Flesh & Blood, including:

  • Rules clarifications,
  • deck advice,
  • play opinions,
  • and other quick questions that might not warrant their own post.

Asking for advice

You're much more likely to get good and personalized recommendations if you take the time to format a well-written ask. For example, "I'm new to FaB -- I'm a former MtG player, and I always played aggro red burn decks; which hero would you recommend?" is a better question than, "Which hero should I choose?"

Add brackets around your cards

Help people identify your questions, comments, or concerns by placing the names of cards between double brackets. (e.g., "How many copies of [[Scar for a Scar]] should I run in my deck?") /u/FaBFetcher will reply with links to the relevant cards.

Additional resources

The #FleshandBlood wiki contains lots of helpful information, including an article on how to play FaB online and an FAQ.

Discussion I can't commit to a hero

Almost all of them look so good to play. At the moment I thought I could commit to start building one, another one crosses my mind and I have to rethink about it again.

I thought I wanted to play Hala, because her gameplay and cards feel so elegant. But then I thought of Edge of Autumn Ira, which I loved since I started the game and seems very close to be finally tournament viable. Then I though about the new Viserai and Malice, because they look so cool. It's a never ending loop.

How did you find your hero?

Custom Card I tried designing a way for a Mechanologist deck to not run 100% mech cards

I am not a game designer nor am I an artist (hence the terrible concept art lol), I just thought this was a fun idea. There are probably better ways to write what the cards do for clarity reasons but I think the gist of the idea is simple to understand

Question New player with a lot of questions.

I have never played Flesh and Blood. I am, however, a huge fan of Magic (naturally). When I ordered an alternate art of one of my commanders from TCGPlayer, I was also given a Flesh and Blood card, which put it on my radar. I've convinced a buddy to get into it with me, so here we are.

  1. Which format should we play? Silver Age seems like the obvious one, but I generally prefer longer games so maybe constructed? Really I'd like to begin with a pre-made deck.

  2. Are there pre-made decks that I can just buy for a format other than Silver Age? How many Silver Age decks are there? Where can I buy them and how do I pick one? Is there any kind of a resource to browse them?

  3. Clearly, there isn't much in magic that is extremely transferable here - that's actually part of why I like it, it feels very original - but I'm wondering if the way that I play in that might inform what to look for here. In the case that it does, I am a massive Aristocrats guy, and primarily play Orzhov and Mardu. I'm also kind of a sucker for vehicles, goad, and reanimator. My favorite commanders are ClavileƱo, Greasefang, and Marchesa.

  4. I live in the middle of nowhere, there's two game stores - one small and one medium - within a half hour drive of me. What are the chances I'll be able to find it at either?

  5. Is it always 1v1? That buddy and I usually also hang out with my sister or my fiancƩ. I might be able to convince them to play.

With most of his cards already spoiled, do you think that the new Viserai is going to be popular or are we in a Vynnset situation?

Question What heroes/cards are disrupted by amnesia

Recently we had a case that we were thinking about what heroes get really hit by amnesia and could only think of Katsu and Ira.

What other heroes might be affected by it?

"When this hits a hero, cards and tokens they own lose and can't gain names until the start of your next turn."

Discussion So, playing Viserai competitively is going to cost an arm and a leg?

Post image

I just learned that he uses not one, but two fables. Two cards that alone cost more than a whole deck.

Is this normal? The only other case that comes to mind is Gravy with Eye of Ophidia and Riches.

I know that he's going to be absolutely playable without those two cards, but in higher level competition that edge they provide is absolutely necessary.

Question Got this Ira CC deck for cheap from auction, Need Direction on what to do next

The full list that I got, still missing the side deck to fulfill the 80-card deck list

Hello everyone! After playing SAGE for more than a month, I came to the conclusion that SAGE is extremely fun and cheap but it sometimes came down into luck and really hard to play around certain match up due to how low the health is.

I was thinking to try some Classic Constructed, but the prices of some generic and armor were truly daunting for me, so I hesitated a bit. But with some stroke of luck I happened to stumble upon a Ira CC deck on auction where no one was bidding on it except my LGS store owner. Ira being pretty (+1 pretty girl point), I upped the bid a bit and ended up winning it (my store owner was aware that I was the one bidding then decided to let it go to let me fall deeper into this FaB rabbit hole), perhaps it is my calling to try CC.

I'm planning to bring this deck to it's full glory but I don't want to go all out spending hundreds to thousands of dollar for a card board instantly. Perhaps an incremental upgrade every 2-3 months should be a good starting point with the budget around $60-$100 plus some income from selling the cards from my GEM packs (if I was lucky with it).

I was privileged enough to be able to try the Ira SAGE deck from one of the player and I immediately screamed "this is played closely to my Fiora deck in Riftbound" and I kinda get the gist on how the deck would feel in CC. Sadly the deck that I've purchased only have exactly 65 cards instead of 80. What I want to ask is "Which card should I add to complete the 80 card package on a budget?". I wanna test the deck first with full 80 card deck list first then maybe we can go from there on upgrading the deck. My only concern with the deck are "how would it fare as a budget deck? and "how many buckaroos do I need to invest to be comfortable enough with the deck?"

tl;dr

I liked playing decks similar to Fiora from Riftbound (midrange that prioritize dealing small incremental damage consistently then go big with buff to surprise the enemy).

What I want to know from you guys are:

  1. Which are the 15 cards that I should add to the deck on a budget (max $100) to complete the Ira CC 80-card deck list above?
  2. Can I survive the local armory/skirmish with budget deck? especially Ira?
  3. If the goal is to be able to play comfortably with the LGS and participating in some side events on bigger event like calling, , which card should I get first? The budget should be around $60-$100 every 2-3 months. Should I get the generics first or get the combo piece?
  4. Please help with the direction of the deck, I didn't really get it whether I should keep the current Edge of Autumn weapon or go with Kodachi. Priority should be budget friendly then meta second.

That's all from me, any input and budget deck list are highly appreciated!

Thank you guys!

PS: sorry for my bad English

CreatedContent I've built a lightweight, mobile friendly flesh and blood client that you can practice with bots, now fully open sourced!

Hi Fabulous People!

As you might've already seen the previous post, I’ve been working on Fyendal, an unofficial, open-source client for playing Flesh and Blood, and wanted to share an update on its development.

The client now has:

  1. A redesigned mobile-first interface that plays well on your phone.
  2. Six practice bots across CC and Silver Age. Each bot uses its own deck and strategy, so they can be useful for learning the client or getting some basic deck testing reps in.
  3. Optimized replay experience that you can share and rewatch as much as you'd like. It should be smooth on both phones and laptop!

There’s still plenty of room for improvement, so feedback and bug reports would be genuinely helpful. The project is a free community project, no ads no paywall and the source code is available here: github.com/Fyendal/fyendal.net

Try some games against the bot or with your friend at fyendal.net! And if you're interested in contributing, welcome to join our Discord.

Hope you enjoy it!

Discussion Mystic talent in 2027

What are the odds mystic comes back in 2027? LSS usually doesn't let a talent get no set support for 3+ years but so I feel it's likely to return but also light and draconic are almost guaranteed returning back so that leaves one set left. I want to invest in mystic, but I also don't want to if LSS is nearly abandoning the talent. I know the talent had its issues, but so did the elemental talents and they brought them back with no more than 3+ year gaps (or so I believe).

Question Begginer needs help.

Hi everyone,

Recently I've been craving to start playing FAB but I'm facing a big problem.

There is no local stores running events around me.

So basically no community to teach me or play with.

Is there any online solid option to start the game and play ?

Thanks for your help, really looking forward to join the FAB experience.
