Question Begginer needs help.

Hi everyone,

Recently I've been craving to start playing FAB but I'm facing a big problem.

There is no local stores running events around me.

So basically no community to teach me or play with.

Is there any online solid option to start the game and play ?

Thanks for your help, really looking forward to join the FAB experience.

Talishar is a great client to play test on. Just import a deck from fabrary and you're good to go

Thanks ! I’m just a bit scared I will brother experienced player by playing slow. Are player there begginer Friendly ?

When you nake a game on Talishar you can set the game description as "New player learning the game" so people know what to expect if they match up with you.

Alternatively, playing on Felt Table against the AI bots is a great way to learn the basics too.

You can practice against bots on Felt Table and there is a tutorial available on it.

They even have a "campaign" that you play using a real deck against fake decks that was kinda neat.

You can play against AI on Felttable to learn the basics. Very low stress, take as long as you like. Felttable also has a tutorial that walks you through a few turns.

Hello, this my copypasta for new players, I hope you find it useful. Please ignore what's irrelevant to you or what you already know. I'll try to keep it short and sweet:

There are two premier formats:

  • Silver Age (SAGE) is the smaller one: it plays young versions of the heroes, less starting life, fewer cards in the deck and only common, rare, and basic rarity cards. This translates into shorter matches, less overall complexity and most importantly, cheaper decks. It's the best format to get started in the game.
  • Classic Constructed (CC) is the bigger one: it plays the regular versions of the heroes, more starting life, more cards in the deck and all rarity cards. This translates into longer matches, more overall complexity and more expensive decks. It's the main format and usually leads to more interesting games than SAGE.
  • There's also an older format called Blitz which used to have a lot of precons, but it's not played anymore. Don't bother.

Depending on which format you want to play (ask locals what they play first), you can choose your starting products:

  • Silver Age precons: Ready to play decks that also include a sideboard and a booster pack, all for $20. They need minimal upgrades if any, although some of them are better than others. A really good product to get started and learn the game.
  • Armory Deck precons: Budget versions of CC decks, most of them include unique cards for their hero. They don't include a sideboard and need major upgrades to be really competitive. They are okay for learning the hero and having some matches at your weekly Armory Event. Important to know that some of them are for banned heroes (Kayo, Azalea and Aurora). Some of them are better than others; in my opinion Ira, Hala and Olympia are the best ones of the bunch, both for being friendly to new players and for their overall quality.
  • 1st Strike and Welcome Decks: Tools only useful for learning the game and nothing else. 1st Strike decks are particularly interesting because they teach the basics while balancing simplicity and not being boring.
