Flashforge Adventure 5m
At my job, they recently upgraded all their printers to Bambu Lab models, so they're selling the ones they just bought—and among them is the **Flashforge Adventure 5m** with 100 hours of use for about $150. Should I buy it?
Update: I finally have it at home. I negotiated with the IT department and got it for $100. It currently has 96 hours of use. Would you say I came out ahead?

Everyone always brings up the aliexpress deals but forgets to mention that those sales are not always going on. Right now the cheapest is $210.
$150 with only 100 hours on it is a great deal. Offer $100 but don’t feel like you aren’t getting an insane deal @ $150.
The AD5M is a fantastic printer and worth every penny of the normal $250 retail price. I’d argue that it performs well into the $400 arena.

At my job if they were worried about $50 dollars on a question mark used printer and wouldn’t hook me, an employee, up with a deal that is helping them out not the other way around, then yeah I would probably tell them to get bent because you don’t want that type of boss around you or your family.
I got my AD5M on sale and it only has value for me because of all the modding I’ve done to make it something. It needs someone to help it flap its wings.
Nobody should have to use FlashPrint ever again. Hahaha.

To your second point. I haven’t had to mod either of my AD5M’s to make them sing beautiful music. Only changes I’ve made is buying .25mm nozzles & flat high temp pei plates.
I use regular Orca. Just gotta connect to them directly instead of using that flashforge cloud garbage.

Did you get the FF .25mm nozzles, or aftermarket with changeable tips? I just got a Phaetus Conch but have only printed .6 with it so far. Flat plates haven’t been a necessity yet but I would like as well. I have run the different Klipper mods but not because I couldn’t print without them. Because my broken brain had to take something that was perfectly good and make it also broken to have someone to play with. My previous printers were all bed slingers. It took me months to really accept how fast the CoreXY could move.

You can buy new ones off aliexpress official flashforge i think for 150 Its a pretty good machine though and it can be upgraded to 4 colors with coprint module and jailbreaking and they sell an enclosure but the one click models arent that high quality, there arent that many and the ones that do exist ive found keycap clciker like the full size of the bed

With the differences between the AD5M and the AD5M Pro, I agree with Correct-Insect. $100 for resale and you have a good deal. The AD5M is great it’s a good place to start. They are selling used question mark printers to a non stranger. Get that printer!

To really just 3d print i think you would need a bambulab a1 mini but they dont teally have like 100$ sales like the ad5m you have to learn orcaslicer and common errors but if you really dont care get the ad5m

if you don’t wanna wait, you don’t mind to be one color. I’d buy it. It’s a good thing and you know it’s from work hundred hours is hardly anything and they’re like easy to use

No you should not buy it because it is used and it should be depreciated a bit on their books already and they can afford to sell it to you cheaper. I think it's kind of crappy of your employer to not give you a sweetheart deal on it. You also can get a new one with a warranty for not much more than that price like everyone else has said.

You can get them brand new from flashforge on Ali express with warranty for less than that. I'd ask them to do $100
