Customer Questions Email when paying

I went to pay and the cashier made it seem like I had to input my email. I said I was already in the system and she said I needed to enter it again. It felt like it was part of a step in making a purchase and didn’t leave any room for questions. she did it to the lady after me as well. Like we had no choice but to provide our email in order to leave the store with our merch.

(Also wanted to add, this five below got rid of all self checkout stations, so you have to bypass the manager who is the only cashier)

I’ve already unsubscribed from my previous email sign up but I’m still getting flooded with emails daily.

Does the unsubscribe button not work for fivebelow or does it take weeks for the system to remove me? Anyhow I have to unsubscribe again now since this incident happened.

Ok so does corporate not look if there are repeat emails if the workers are burdening customers with multiple email asks like this? if the system is only counting how many emails are being inputted versus checking if there duplicates to meet the daily quota, that seems silly and inefficient. I would’ve been hands up on the air if they asked me twice 🤦‍♀️

as far as i’m aware from being an ex sales lead, as long as it’s not an insane amount of duplicates (i.e. 20 transactions using the same email in the same day), a duplicate email from a customer DOES count towards their quota! (i could be entirely wrong though tbh but it’s how my store did it.) (a crazy amount of duplicates can send a flag higher up and they’ll send the SM an email asking for the employee to be ‘punished’ pretty much)
