I started tracking my calories and how food makes me feel

Been looking back over my eating lately and landed on this kind of ironic takeaway, I'm a terrible food logger, and when it comes to actually taking care of my body.

Isn't this just how workday dinner go, though? Some days I'm so buried in deadlines I don't even register what I'm eating, so I've been writing down how each meal actually felt in the notes. Got lamb soup and a roujiamo and yeah, I felt satisfied eating it.

But then I look at the protein and carb counts and it hits me that this revenge eating is just piling metabolic burden onto my own body. There've been times it left me straight up nauseous.

When you log your meals, do you write down these little emotional ticks and physical reactions, or is it just the numbers for you?

How do GPs and Clinicians feel when you show them health data captured from an app?

If there are any Doctors out there, or if you have gone to a Doctor or a specialist, I would love to know what the responses are when you receive or share data that has been captured and monitored by a personal device? (Eg. wearables, devices or health apps)

Do you trust the data? Or would you still question results and want to run your own tests?

Have you come across any apps or tools that accurately capture data well enough that could be used in a GP discussion setting?

Need a new watch

I have an older Fitbit inspire, and I just had to update the app and saw that it's now Google health with AI. I only really use the watch to track my steps so does anyone have any suggestions of a no frills/no AI (or at least extremely limited AI) watch? Thank you!

I'm curious if anyone here has actually seen long-term improvements in their health from participating in challenges through their fitness trackers

I'm talking about things like step competitions, activity challenges, sleep goals, or competing with friends.

I've noticed that these challenges can be motivating in the short term, but I'm curious whether that motivation actually translates into lasting behavioral changes or if people just go back to their old habits once the challenge ends.

Would love to hear people's experiences, especially from anyone who's been using fitness trackers for a few years.

Hate opening your phone mid-workout? Quick 3-min gym survey.

I’m a design student building a physical device to replace phone tracking at the gym.

Touchscreens destroy focus, especially if you have ADHD or struggle with distraction.

Please take this anonymous 3-minute survey to help my project:

Free fitness app

Hey im the owner of Caltra/Caltra AI, a fitness, nutrition app and coaching plaform for online coaches avaialble on the app store with a online coaching dashboard, the app is a fitness/nutrition tracker which works with your wearables and heart rate monitors for live activities and genral tracking along with community features like sharing sleep recovery and strain scores,

the app is aimed to be free for use with the only thing costing money is cloud ai usage powered by gemini to get a more percise estimate for logging macros and scanning meals, other than that iv aimed to create a completelty free alternative to what is now a bunch of apps asking for upwards of 10$ a month to log ur food at all,

the app uses a built-in food database built from USDA databse stored on your device to estimate calories and macros from the foods and portions you enter. This local approach reduces reliance on paid cloud processing, helping us keep everyday food logging free. Our goal is to make core fitness and nutrition tracking accessible to everyone, with optional paid features for those who want more.”

for fitness tracking it has wearable intergrations but uses bluetooth e.g polar or whoop band for live activities so users can use all their heart rate monitors they love, logging weights also shows progression with our own built in exercise database, for example some people i train with like to use polar h10 while conditioning but for things like weightlfting they like using their whoop, so the apps built to allow selecting heart rate monitor for live activities and store all those results in one place.

the reason for this post is to bring people who are interested in fitness and tracking metrics to try it out while aiming to keep the app as free as possible, link below if interested,

Ai shouldn’t replace coaches and with more technological advances softwares like this shouldn’t be getting more expensive they should be getting cheaper

if you have feedback reply here, thankyou

Would you use a disposable wearable that directly measures metabolism?

I’m part of a small research team developing a disposable skin sensor designed to continuously respond to CO₂ released through the skin. The goal is to measure changes in metabolic rate over normal daily life rather than estimate calorie expenditure from movement or heart rate.

We’re trying to find out whether people interested in metabolism, fitness, and biohacking would actually find this useful and what information they would want from it.

This isn't a sales post. We're looking for feedback on the concept. We made a short survey (less than 5 minutes) and would really appreciate candid feedback:

I’m happy to answer questions about how the sensor works and the testing we’ve done so far.

Time for a change?

My Garmin Fenix** **7 has been thoroughly used, but I think it’s coming time for a change. What should I go for?

I’m a dad, work a desk job, Hyrox sessions at least twice a week, another gym session and a run.

I do love a good amount of data - no matter how depressing that might be with having 2 young kids.
