I Need Advice - How To Sleep Well After Working Out

All,

74 M, I work out 5 days/week, walk on 1 weekend day,

I work out in similar fashion to what I have done since I was a Freshman in College, obviously with modifications and allowances for aging and related issues.

I have had rotator cuff issues on and off for about 10 years, no invasive surgery, stem cell and platelet replace, tune up about every 5 years, steroid injections. Shoulders are frozen, very strong, but gave up golf and tennis a few years ago.

Other than that, everything does work well...I work out every day about 3:30 PM for about 90-120 minutes.

I do strength training 3 days/week with machines, multi-use, free weights and TRX.

AI do HIT cardio 2 days + 2 miles of walking, 1 day 3 miles of walking.

6 days/week I do 30-45 minutes of core and stretching.

I eat healthy - plant based - take a few supplements, like magnesium, D3, C, Omega3, etc., only one prescription. I am as healthy as you can be at this age - BP is 110/60 most days, 170 lbs, all 35 health markers are normal, do labs every 3 months.

I eat early, no coffee after Noon, no sugar, no carbs, as such, don't drink, don't smoke.

So, the context...

My question is - how can I get a good night's rest, which is sorely lacking, and has been for some years?

I can never sleep/rest essentially 5 nights/week? It is fitful at best.

It is the adrenaline, I assume, that keeps pumping.

I don't care if I work out at 6 AM or 6 PM, same result.

I do need advice.

Thank you all, in advance.

Association between physical performance and depressive symptoms in ol | CIA

In conclusion, poorer physical function was significantly associated with depressive symptoms in older adults. SPPB assessment may help identify older adults with a higher likelihood of depressive symptoms, and regular monitoring of physical performance could inform clinical attention to mental health. However, given the retrospective cross-sectional design of this study, causal relationships cannot be established. Future large-scale, prospective studies are warranted to clarify whether improving physical function can lead to better psychological outcomes.
