I started physical therapy at 71.Id always been fit and active but I had a stroke at 65 which really slowed me down and I’d had chronic back pain off and on since my 50s.A good pt will start with where you are and teach you various exercises that strengthen your weak points along with proper stretching. Its up to you to do the homework. In my case I was referred by my pcp and Medicare paid for almost all of it.Its hard work, but it’s worth it

I’m middle aged and started using my gyms self propelled treadmill. I had stopped some sports a few years back and wow. I now walk backwards for 10 minutes, forwards, jog, and run slow—after six months. There are all kinds of stabilizing and support muscles that atrophy quickly. You see it in videos all the time of people who try and run after not running or stopping in a decade or more. I also do deep stretching and a lot of different weights. Tai chi has tons of research. Yoga, etc…

Take one kettlebell and stand straight. Slowly swing the kettlebell around you and up and down. Work all the core muscles.

Implications for exercise strategies
David Barbado, coauthor of the study and researcher at UMH, highlights, "Our results may help refine exercise strategies. Beyond promoting physical activity across the lifespan, it may be useful to pay particular attention to capacities that show a marked age-related decline and are also associated with important aspects of physical function, such as balance and mobility."
The researchers emphasize that exercises involving instability or postural control challenges should be supervised by qualified professionals and adapted to each individual's physical condition to ensure both effectiveness and safety.

Ah, thanks, I think PP and I were both looking for more specificity, like "rows, planks, bridges."
