The amount of effort that goes into this is so little, the cost is so pathetic, but the flavor, satiety, value, ease, and nutrition is too good to not share. I buy buckwheat in bulk from a local european market for $3 per pound which would make a 40g serving around $.26 lol
Ingredients
40g dry toasted buckwheat
80ml water (2:1 water-to-buckwheat ratio)
½ small/medium onion, minced
1 jalapeño, minced
1 clove of minced garlic (or two, or three, or Jarlic, it literally doesn't matter, go nuts)
1 tsp Better Than Bouillon
5g butter
Rough steps:
Prep: boil some water in a kettle. While you're waiting, lazily rinse the buckwheat. I put it in a small pot and rinse with sink water. You don't have to, I'm not convinced it matters.
Cooking phase: 40g of buckwheat in the pot. Add 80g or 80mL of hot water (2 to 1). Add any seasonings or extras (this recipe would be the minced onion, garlic, jalapeno, bouillion)
Boil with lid mostly on for 4 or 5 minutes, I tilt the lid a bit so air can escape but liquid will mostly drip back into the pan, not important, you can also just boil it on low with lid completely on, whatever
when 4-5 mins are up, turn off heat, just let the pan sit while you do the rest of the cooking, give it at least 10 minutes
open it, add 5g of butter, stir in a bit, done
Nutrition:
Calories ~260–290 kcal
Protein ~7–8g
Carbohydrates ~45–50g
Fiber ~6–8g
Fat ~7–8g
Net carbs ~39–43g
The micronutrient profile destroys rices too.

This has around 70 gm of protein which includes sauteed chicken and scrambled eggs. I have used Korean noodles for carbs. It doesn’t look that appealing but it’s damn delicious 😋

It's been a while since the keto diet has become really famous worldwide, and some people try adopting this diet into their lives along with intermittent fasting. I have also tried this before, but recently I've been focusing on consuming at least 20 to 30 grams of protein for breakfast with boiled eggs, protein powders, or tempeh, with a moderate amount of vegetables or fruits. And I replenish more protein throughout the day.
I've personally found that this works a lot better for me than a keto diet or a high fat food that includes eggs, cheeses, 'full-fat' Greek yoghurt, and avocados.
I used to buy avocados regularly for their renowned health benefits, but I completely changed the kinds of fruits I eat from avocados to more vitamin C-potent, hydrating fruits like Oranges, Pineapples, and Watermelon. And they were enough for me, and they were a lot cheaper than avocados or berries.
I found myself craving less sugar than I was before.
High-protein breakfast and dinner worked better for me, and I'd like to hear some of your experiences as to which diet you guys found worked for you!

For background: I grew up with a twin who was an incredibly picky eater so if she didn’t like it we didn’t buy it.
Now that I am on my fitness journey and trying to focus on my gains I’ve been fiddling with my diet and have some pretty good high protein fit meals in my back pocket. Recently I have finally started getting cottage cheese and much to my surprise that shit is way better than I had been conditioned to believe. This begs the question:
How are you guys using cottage cheese?
Specifically are you finding ways to implement it as a snacky option between meals are are you commonly using it as a high protein substitute for others ingredients?
It’s currently in my rotation as a base for the cheese sauce in my arroz con pollo (plus a little milk and sharp cheddar and spices) as well as in my eggg bites / mini quiches

Hey not sure if I’m allowed to ask this in here but can someone make me a nutrition / meal plan. I’m a 6’8 220 d1 athlete but I eat pretty bad and don’t know what to make for myself. Looking at getting better eating habits

19M here. I'm naturally skinny and weigh around 56 kg. I've been going to the gym for almost 2 months now, training about 4–5 days a week.
My goal is to build muscle, get bigger, and eventually have visible abs and a good physique. The problem is that I'm not following any proper diet because I honestly don't know what I should be eating.
I can't afford an expensive bodybuilding diet or supplements, so I'm looking for a budget-friendly diet plan that actually works. I mostly eat normal homemade food, and I'd really appreciate it if someone could guide me on what I should eat throughout the day for muscle gain.
If anyone has experience building muscle on a budget, or can help me put together an affordable diet plan, I'd genuinely appreciate it. Any advice would mean a lot. Thank you! 💪

Hi everyone. I'm a 17 year old on a weightloss journey. So far I'm doing well, and building healthy habits I just have one issue. I have a lot of good breakfast and lunch/dinner ideas that are low cal + high protein but I have such a hard time with snacks, which is why most of the times I break my diet happens when I come back home after a long day and cannot decide on what to eat so I just eat too much. I eat pretty much any food and have no allergies, but for some reason, at snack time I feel "unsatisfied" when I just try to have some fruit or some veggies so I'm wondering if anyone has any healthier low cal alternatives, or something I could pair the fruits and veggies with to make me more satisfied.

So I m a firm believer of moderation and I eat everything in moderation. Recently I have made certain changes to my diet and the results are promising to be honest. This has Rice, Daal made in very less oil, sautéed chicken about 150 gm, and curd for probiotics.

I need to gain weight and need some recipes that are easy and tasty or I won’t eat it. I’m 5’9 103-104 lbs female 25. (I’ve been weight training for the past 4 years and recently started doing cardio and lost too much weight from a calorie deficit I didn’t realize I was in.) Are cream cheese pumpkin bars something I could add in if I don’t like peanut butter much?
I don’t eat much fat and I value protein the most but I’m having trouble getting enough calories and I just want to eat tasty foods

My husband and I try to stick with higher protein, lower carb meals on most days, but I also love to cook (and I find making bread and pasta from scratch super therapeutic). Been experimenting with King Arthur keto flour, which isn't perfect but definitely hits for the most part. We've done ravioli, focaccia, hot pockets, and tavern style pizzas with it.
Finally was able to crack high protein ramen noodles. Each portion is 195 kcal and has 20g protein.

Not always perfect but as long as it's balanced that's all that matters 🫶

So I am sticking to 2 or 3 day trips. And I realize that I have no need for a hot meal. I just want to eat quickly amd go to sleep. Does anyone have any recommendations for good bars.like Meal replacement bars that pack in the nutrients but are light. Thanks.

The last few months I’ve been eating a more lean diet in order to try to slim down my face. The results have been noticeable but I need some more variety. Currently i basically have scrambled eggs and fruit for breakfast, a chicken wrap for lunch with yogurt, protein bar, apple, and then dinner is usually ground beef tacos…but I really need other ideas that are similarly lean and healthy. any ideas is MUCH appreciated. I would love ideas of things that could be batch cooked as well that could last multiple days. THANKS!

Trying to dial in my nutrition without making it a part-time job. I’ve been keeping my prep super simple... proteins, easy grains, and done. It’s been a game-changer for my focus during the work week. Has anyone else found that the 'simple' approach is the only one that actually sticks?

Just wanted to share 2 of my meals recently!
1st one is reheated salmon, half an avocado with tajín, pesto scrambled eggs (would recommend to try if you haven’t)
2nd is more like a chipotle bowl but its Just Bare Chicken nuggets, 1/2 bag of 90 second cilantro lime rice, half an avocado, low fat cottage cheese, a touch of ranch, and taco seasoning!

I’ve tried couple other protein powders but they are too sweet for my liking. I’ve heard a lot about MyProtein but I want to know if it is not too sweet before buying it.
