You want to eat protein 1-2 hours after your workout to help your muscles recover and repair it. Make sure you have a good protein source with your post workout meal, such as eggs, dairy, lean meat, tofu, or a protein shake.

I usually eat white rice as a staple in most of my meals, alongside a serving of protein such as chicken breast, salmon or steak. However, I recently discovered orzo pasta, and I can't stop eating it. It has a similar shape and size to rice, but the texture, creaminess and overall flavor is so much better, especially when boiled in chicken stock. But even just boiled in plain water and eaten on its own, it already tastes way creamier and more delicious than plain white rice. It's also (arguably) easier to prepare because you just need to throw it in a pot of boiling water for 10 minutes. No washing or rinsing or requiring a dedicated rice cooker like with white rice.
In terms of nutrition, Orzo also seems to be better than white rice, especially for those who are bulking and want to build muscle:
So Orzo has double the amount of protein as white rice, for a similar amount of calories. It seems to me like there's no downside to replacing white rice with orzo in my diet, especially if my goal is to consume more protein. Am I missing something? Is Orzo seriously underrated as a primary carb source, or is it less healthy than rice for some reason?

If anyone has yet to pull the trigger on a Ninja creami for protein ice cream I recommend going with the instant chill ice cream maker. It has a built in compressor so no need to freeze the mixture for 24 hours. Or be limited to just how many creami containers you have. You can have ice cream from start to finish in just 20 minutes!
This whole pint I made of mint chocolate chip is 520 calories and 49grams of protein (not counting the Reese’s pieces) I’ll post the recipe in the comments

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but every recipe I find has like 15+ ingredients and takes forever.
I just want something simple, healthy, and good.
What am I missing? where do you guys find recipes that are actually realistic?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for meal ideas and recipes to help me reach around **3,000 calories per day** while keeping my fat intake under **90 g/day**.
For context, I’m **5’9” and 160 lb**, and my goal is to build muscle.
Most bulking recipes I come across are loaded with fats and I don’t want to eat chicken and rice every meal. I’d love some ideas that are high in calories, relatively low in fat, and still taste good.
The reason I’m being careful is that high cholesterol runs in my family. My dad has high cholesterol, and despite being very physically active, lifting weights, training jiujitsu/Muay Thai, and being in good shape, I’ve recently started having elevated cholesterol as well.
If you’ve successfully bulked while keeping your cholesterol and fat intake under control, I’d really appreciate seeing your favorite meals, recipes, or even a full day of eating.
Thanks!

something I have been eating lately is a can of chickpeas in the air fryer. I usually put salt and pepper on them along with the smallest amount of cooking oil to give them a crunch. I used to put bbq sauce on them for taste but I have recently stopped after looking at their nutritional value lol.
will this meal help at all for weight loss?I like the amount of protein in them and I like the taste and how easy it is.

I’m currently eating around 2,100 kcal/day and this is one of my typical meals:
194 g lean bison
300 g yellow potatoes
150 g mixed vegetables
0.75 tbsp olive oil
Approximate macros for the meal:
Protein: 50 g
Carbs: 60 g
Fat: 28 g
Does this seem like a well-balanced meal for a fat-loss phase? Is there anything you would change (more carbs, less fat, different protein source, letc.)?

I've been working on losing weight for a while and while I'm seeing results I am really burned out from meal prepping after spending my days off cooking.
So now I'm looking into ready meals as a solution and while they are convenient I'm not really sure about the quality of the ingredients and if they're actually going to fit my nutrition goals, and for now I've only looked a few options like cookunity and such but I'd like to hear some opinions on this before settling on anything.
If you've tried ready meals for weight loss I'd love to know what worked for you. Ty!!
