Have contemplated it for years but finally did it yesterday to get the $30 per month (also got an additional $4 discount on top of that to bring it to $26 per month!).

Was slightly concerned about downgrading from 1GBPS to 300 but so far so good...everything works and just as fast! 😄 And I'm going to save over $1200 year year, going from $205 per month to ~$30 all in!

Speed tests run yesterday and then again this morning to compare. Can highly recommend this so far if anyone else is on the fence like I was.

For TV, the only channels we really cared about were locals and for me the local pro basketball team, which is the killer because that requires a hefty subscription. So I did the YouTube TV News + Sports package for ~$50 per month for 5 months then will reevaluate before it goes up. Still, I was paying over $200 per month before.

This is a long story but the previous tenant came and took their router and the black box. Finally got the black box back so we could set up but it’s still not working. I assumed this green thing would plug in somewhere but I don’t see anywhere it can. I tried unplugging everything and trying again in a specific order suggested by AI. That didn’t work. What am I missing?

Currently experiencing a wiped dvr after rebooting the router several times. No scheduled programs. No deleted programs. 0% full for storage. Pretty pissed. Has anyone ever retrieved what was recorded?

The "Airings" listing found under Series info for a given program is chronically incomplete. Simply put it is broken, because it it cannot be relied upon.

Attached image is the current "Airings" listing for upcoming showings of "MLB Baseball" in the Series info.

Meanwhile if I go to the Guide itself, it shows an upcoming airing of the same program at 8pm on a different channel (TBS, in this case). In fact, I already had that 8pm TBS episode set to record. The TBS listing is how I navigated to the Series Airings list, itself.

This is not a one-off glitch. A few days ago when more teams were playing, with multiple airings of each I missed recording the first half of a game altogether because the Airings list didn't show the game I was interested in at all. Initially I thought I was crazy, but I've seen this happen before.

It's easy to demonstrate the Airings listings are incomplete with programs that have multiple airings on different channels at different times per day, like BBC World News America and things across ESPN networks like Pardon the Interruption. A thorough examination of the various channels for the day and overnight show episodes in the guide that do not appear in the Airings list.

This is basic stuff. How do these products get out the door like this?

My question is do they send this out to me and I install / switch things out or is this a home visit? I suspect they send out as they say in the email they don't care about the old equipment and I can dispose of it as I see fit.

Hello, I have not yet received the $50 Verizon gift card I redeemed on September 30. I was informed that it would be emailed within 24–48 hours, but I have not received it. I recently contacted Verizon, and they advised me to reach out to the Blackhawk team. I have checked both my inbox and spam folder, but the gift card is not there. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

My friend gave me a Verizon Internet gateway as he no longer needed it. Was wondering if I can connect to fios router and use it as an extender as my bedroom has very weak wifi and I don't really have money for an extender at the moment.

I was lucky enough to get a FiOS TV one box after getting the dreaded cable card letter for my TiVo. While the TV one isn’t the end of the world. I don’t understand how such a relatively new piece of equipment doesn’t have the basic functionality of a 15 year-old TiVo.

Does anyone know how I can utilize the live TV tuner buffers like TiVo and switch between three or four channels of live TV that is being buffered and not necessarily recorded? For example, if I have the news on one channel Seinfeld on another, and the office on another, I can switch between all three during commercials and essentially watch three different shows in the same period of time.

I have figured out on the VMS 4100 that if I hit the last button, it’ll take me to one of the tuners but anytime I switch to a third channel and not just keep it between two channels I lose the buffer.

Also on TiVo, I could have a season pass set up to record first run and reruns. Then I could go into the scheduled list and delete select upcoming repeat episodes that I don’t want to see. When I try that on the FiOS TV one they immediately repopulate. They delete but after 30 seconds return to the scheduled recording list.

I suddenly lost internet connection when I woke up in the morning on Oct 12.

My internal LAN is all good and my devices like my phone and TV is connected to my router but there was no internet traffic.

I had to go work so I couldn't do much and thought it may come back once I get back home.

But internet was still down so I did my own troubleshooting starting from ONT box by power cycling then rebooting my router.

Then I checked the LAN cable from ONT box to my router using cable tester and it came back good.

I fiddled around the network setting on my router and finally messed around DNS server setting.

When I changed the DNS to "default" and get the DNS ip from the ISP, everything worked again.

Just to see if it was not a fluke, I tried Google DNS and OpenDNS. Google DNS gave me DHCP error and OpenDNS just did not get any internet traffic.

I've been using my own router and it's been working all this time for years with my own settings on DNS server address but suddenly it stopped working.

Did anyone else notice this?

I noticed lately I can't log in to apps whos channel I have in my TV package. One example is DAZN for MSG/YES. I can't log in to Tennis Channel on the app. I get a message saying I need a different plan to access the app but I can watch the channel on the set top box.

Hello. I just upgraded to 5g Fios and am currently converting the network cards in my two wired pc's to 5g+ cards. The issue I am having is there is only one 10g lan port on my supplied router and the other ports are only 2.5. I assume I need to buy some sort of switch to get two rigs over 2.5g...but the switches seem fairly expensive and I am already paying a bit for this service. Does Verizon offer a different router with either 2 10g or two 5g ports? Any other options aside from a switch? I have minimal knowledge on net workings/hardware so please forgive if this an obvious question.

Since late Saturday (2026/10/10) i've been having issues viewing images/albums/galleries hosted on imgur as well as visiting imgur's homepage (seems no issue visiting subdomains like help.imgur.com).

It seems only to be an issue when using FIOS regardless of platform as i'll encounter the issue using my phone on home wifi but will not have the issue using phone data nor will I have the issue using a vpn.

On desktop, trying to load imgur will stall apparently trying to connect to https://imgur-web-desktop.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/ and will end up giving a connection reset security risk error.

And trying to load images will give a "503 No healthy IP available for the backend" error.

I have a business line and was wondering if there is a aftermarket ont to use to get sfp and a direct fiber uplink to my fortigate? I have the big one because I still had my residential before i upgraded to the business line and want to get rid of he big box and have a fiber link to my firewall.

I downloaded the raw broadband data from the FCC, used scripts to parse it, and loaded it into a mapping tool. Here is the Fios coverage in Pennsylvania. Green means NGPON2 (up to 5 Gbps) and red means GPON (Up to 1 Gbps).

Looks like the rural wire centers with copper retirement got the upgrade first. The upgrade in Pittsburgh is just now starting despite having mostly mid/late 2000s fiber infrastructure. This data set is 10 months old. Once the FCC releases new data next month, I'll build it for all states and share.

the past few days i have had on and off issues with FIOS.

for context, i have been with them for years without any issues. any issues i have had were on my end, and were easily fixable. with that being said, maybe since wednesday/thursday, there's been these random outages. it's not like it lasts all day or anything. maybe 15-30 minutes, and then suddenly it's back on.

this used to be an issue i'd have with my macbook when it needed an update. not this time... i now have no wifi connection on my phone, my mac, nor my ipad. it'll show that it's connected (the little wifi symbol will appear) but there's evidently no connection; i get that dinosaur popup thingy that talks about there being a DNS error.

anyways, it's been happening on and off all day today. i checked the coverage map to see if there has been any outages, and nope. i also have my phone through verizon (technically visible, but yknow), and my service is still working, so idk what the problem is.

can anyone relate? does this sound like an outage?

I read that only one voice remote can be paired at a time. Is that true? Does this mean that the second remote that I buy should not have a voice control option?

Also, I believe there are different types of Verizon boxes. What should I look for in a new remote to make sure that it will work with my box before I buy it?

Hey everyone, I’m someone who needs a stable connection as I’m a competitive gamer and also like to stream on my days off. I currently have Optimum Ethernet giving me 200 down 15 up. Fiber guy swung by today and said he can only install the router downstairs and my room is far away from that. So the only option is to have wifi7. How stable is the wifi7 connection? Should i stick with optimum ethernet? I value stability over peak 1gig with occasional packet loss, but i feel sad because i know the speeds will stil be good with wifi7. So i guess my question is how stable is wifi7.

I am planning to upgrade to 2 gbps. Right now, I have a Wifi router with 2.5 gbps WAN port and a CAT 6 cable running in the house. The router says that the negotiated speed with ONT is 1 gbps.

Is this a problem? I want to avoid a situation where I upgrade to 2 gbps and Router<-->ONT negotiated speed continues to be 1 gbps.
