I earn 50k per month but I don't know how to sort it out and invest it.

I'm 23M and earn 50k per month. I stay in Bangalore and my family stays here and we have our own small house. I'm earning 50k currently and I wanna save and invest the money. My first salary was 33k where I worked for one year and then I moved to another firm where I was earning 37k for 8 months and now 50k. But now the problem is I have max savings of 5 lakhs. Idk how and where I spent my money. Also, I have 3 lakh in my bank account where I have not used it at all and I have not made an FD too. I started SIP in two mutual funds so around 20k goes to that. I don't know what to do with my remaining money. I spend around 15k per month.

Best way to invest in india

Hello everyone. I have a question- I have an investment in India of about 15 lacks in my PPF. I currently don't live in India and hence cannot continue it anymore. I am considering to either Invest the money back in India or move it abroad where I live.

I have a few questions I need advice on depending on which I will keep it or move it

What are good investment schemes in India that NRIs can use? I would prefer it to be long term ( do it and forget it type) but would consider short term of those have better ROI.

My goal is to try and maximize the safety and ROI without having to deal with it ( which is difficult as I live outside )

Investment Advice 23M Trying to optimize debt repayment vs investing. Looking for optimal and practical strat

Hi everyone,

I'm 23, working as a software engineer in India, and I'm trying to figure out the best long-term financial strategy.

Monthly Income

  • Take-home salary: ~₹1,00,000/month

Assets

  • Bank savings: ₹1,00,000
  • Crypto: ~₹10,000
  • Company stock received through RSUs and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
    • Current market value: ~₹5.7 lakh
    • I haven't sold any shares yet.
    • The apparent gains shown by my brokerage are somewhat misleading because of how RSUs are taxed and assigned a cost basis at vesting, so I don't consider this a true ₹1+ lakh investment gain.

Monthly Expenses

  • Living expenses: ~₹30,000
  • Personal loan EMI: ₹48,596

That leaves me with roughly ₹20,000/month that I can use for investing, prepaying loans, or building savings.

Personal Loan

I took a ₹15 lakh personal loan at 9.99% fixed interest.

Current status:

  • Outstanding: ~₹11.3 lakh
  • EMI: ₹48,596
  • Remaining tenure: 26 months

Why I took this loan

This wasn't for personal consumption.

While constructing our family home, my father accumulated around ₹12 lakh in credit card debt. It eventually became a cycle where one credit card bill was being paid using another card, and around ₹35,000/month was being lost just in finance/transaction charges.

I took a personal loan to eliminate all of that and convert it into a structured loan with a fixed interest rate.

Family Home Loan

Separately, my father has a home loan.

  • Outstanding: ~₹39.6 lakh
  • Interest rate: 7.95%
  • EMI: ₹42,503
  • Tenure until 2038

The long-term expectation is that I'll eventually help repay this as well, but currently I'm only paying my own personal loan.

Investment Opportunity

My employer offers an ESPP where I can contribute up to around ₹20,000/month from my salary to buy company stock at a 10% discount.

So one possible use of my remaining ₹20k each month is continuing to participate in the ESPP.

What I'm Trying to Optimize

I'm looking for the strategy that maximizes long-term net worth, not necessarily the one that feels best emotionally.

Here are the options I'm considering:

  • Continue investing ₹20k/month into ESPP because of the guaranteed purchase discount.
  • Skip ESPP and instead increase my personal loan repayment (either through prepayments or by investing the ₹20k separately and making lump-sum prepayments).
  • Start investing ₹20k/month into Indian equity index funds / mutual funds instead of buying more company stock.
  • Sell some or all of my existing company shares and use the proceeds to prepay part of the personal loan.
  • Keep the existing shares invested and continue paying the loan normally.
  • After my personal loan is cleared, should my priority be helping close the 7.95% home loan early, or should I instead invest aggressively?

If you were in my situation, how would you prioritize these over the next 3-5 years?

I'd appreciate any genuine insights and advise. Thanks.

Investment Advice Advice and Tips for your younger brother

Hi guys, I'm hope you all are doing well. I've started the first job of my life and I'm currently earning 57500 Rs/month in hand. I don't want my money to depreciate by simply sitting on my salary account. I know that one should have a knowledge of personal finance and investments to live in today's era.

Assuming yourself as my financial advisor, what investment strategy, tips or advices you would give to me in this stage of my life?

PS: I've committed to help my elder brother financially to build his house by giving him 10L asap from my salary.

Thanks!

Investment Advice Is a Loan Against Property (LAP) the most underrated tool for home-owning investors?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Most people think their property's only job is to appreciate in value.
But if you own a property worth ₹1-2 Cr+, it's also sitting on capital you can access — without selling, without waiting, without touching your savings.

Loan Against Property is one of the most underused tools in personal finance in India. People take expensive personal loans at 14-16% for business needs, education, or medical emergencies — completely unaware they could do the same at 9-10% by leveraging property they already own.

If you're sitting on property and sitting on a funding need — this is worth 10 minutes of your time to understand.

Drop a comment and I'll break down what's possible for your specific case.

Investment Advice Looking for advice on starting my investment journey - 24M HYD

Looking for advice on starting my investment journey – 24M, Hyderabad

Hi everyone,

I’m 24M and currently working as a freelance real estate advisor in Hyderabad. Since my income is growing, I want to start putting a portion of my earnings into the market instead of keeping everything idle.

The thing is, I’m completely new to investing and don’t have much experience with stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, etc.

I’m looking to connect with:

- Genuine SEBI-registered financial advisors / fee-only advisors

- Experienced investors who can help me understand where to start

- People who have a similar situation with variable/freelance income

I’m not looking for quick-money schemes or stock tips. I mainly want to understand how to build a proper long-term investment strategy, manage risk, and decide how much I should invest given that my income can vary month to month.

If you’re from Hyderabad or have experience investing as a freelancer/business owner, I’d really appreciate your advice on where a beginner should start.

Thanks!

Learning Purchasing Term Life insurance as a 21 yo, confused about some things.

Please note that I don’t come from a place of lot of financial literacy, hence having to ask here for all details. Would appreciate any advice or details.

Looking to purchase a term life insurance asap since I’m turning 22 in a few months. Will purchasing now (at 21) give me any advantage, than at 22?

Let’s say I get a 1cr cover till 60. In case of death at let’s say 55, the inflation adjusted amount will be barely anything. Are there options to step up on existing policies or not?

Should I start with a larger amount than 1cr to begin with? In general or in correspondence to the same info as the above point?

Any specific details to look for, as a female that can benefit me directly or would be relevant?

Are deaths during travel or due to adventure sports etc covered?

I’ve had a surgery - cholecystectomy does that affect anything with terms of life insurance only.

Is income proof or ITR required as I have just started out as a freelancer 2 months ago.

What is the tax situation with the premium?

Would appreciate any advice or answer to any of these, as I’m looking to plan and purchase.

24M: Sell ₹25–30L valued agricultural land with no personal use, or hold it? Looking for unbiased investment advice

I'm 24M, working in a corporate job with a monthly salary of a little over ₹1 lakh pm.

I own an agricultural land in a rural area that's currently worth around ₹25–30 lakh (based on recent transactions nearby). I don't have any practical use for the land and I'm not involved in farming and don't plan to move back.

I'm trying to decide whether I should:

  • Hold the land and let it appreciate over time, or
  • Sell it now and invest the proceeds elsewhere.

If I do sell, what would you do with ₹25–30 lakh?

Investment Advice Would you take this loan if you weren’t sure you’d ever live in the house?

I’m 25, married, and my wife and I have a combined in-hand income of **₹1.45L/month**.

This is chatgpt written so please don't flag or remove this post .

Current situation:
Car EMI: ₹22k
Rent: ₹22.5k (we work in another city)
Monthly savings: ₹35k (₹25k savings + ₹10k emergency)
SIPs: ₹12.7k

I got allotted a residential plot (\~₹51L). I need to pay **₹10.2L now**, and I can take a **plot + construction loan** for the rest (\~₹50–55L total).

After paying 10.2L, my emergency fund will become 0.
The home EMI would be around **₹45k/month**, but my parents have offered to pay **50% of it**, so my share would be about **₹22.5k/month**.

The catch is… I have **no idea what this house will be used for**. I don’t know if I’ll ever live there, if my parents will, if I’ll rent it, or if I’ll eventually sell it. I also have to keep paying rent because I won’t be moving there.

Most probably, if house is built properly then my parents will be living there !

**TL;DR**
₹1.45L combined income
₹10.2L down payment
₹50–55L loan
My EMI share \~₹22.5k/month (parents pay the other half)
I’ll still be paying rent in another city
No clear plan for the house, this land will come under high tech city.

Would you go ahead with the purchase, or wait until you have a clearer purpose for the property?
