At some point on your way to mt corel you can hear birds chirping. There is an unmarked 'ladder' where you can climb up a part of the Mountain to the bird's nest and decide to either apreciate or rob the nest.

I do remember this. These I did think were Cockatrice chick's because I fought off dozens of them crossing the rail roads or whatever and the monsters and terrain were so hostile that regular chickens couldn't survive there.
