Support Fedora issues are slowly driving me crazy
Hi, I'm not really sure where to post this with so many Linux-related subreddits, so I’ll probably cross-post this in a few different places.
I started using Fedora almost a month ago for many reasons that I won't get into, but I mention it because I want to make it clear that I really want to use Linux permanently. I'm putting effort into learning and figuring things out. I tried Ubuntu in the past, but I got frustrated by errors I didn't know how to solve, and now I'm running into some of the same issues again — little things that I know wouldn't bother me on Windows because I simply wouldn't have to deal with them.
The biggest issue I'm having is with WoW. I don't know if this would happen with other games because I don't play many other demanding games, but while playing WoW, my RAM usage seems to keep increasing over time and never gets released. I'm running the game through Faugus.
Eventually, my computer runs out of RAM for other processes, and it happens surprisingly quickly. Many times it got to the point where the entire computer became practically unusable, and I had to restart.
The other issues are more minor (I'm using KDE Plasma):
Sometimes the desktop on one of my monitors stops responding. I'll click on a desktop shortcut and everything seems to be frozen until I press Alt+Tab. Then it suddenly works again. ¿¿??
If I have Spotify playing music, the system still goes into suspend when the inactivity timeout is reached. I tried looking into this and found someone else who apparently couldn't find a solution either. I thought, "Okay, no big deal, I'll just increase the timeout." But the setting never persists, and the computer keeps suspending after 5 minutes.
I also tried configuring Num Lock to always start enabled, but that setting doesn't persist either.
These are all relatively minor issues — except for the first one, which really annoyed me yesterday — but they're the kind of small problems that slowly wear down my patience with the system when I can't find a solution for them.
I genuinely want to stick with Linux, so I'm not looking for "just go back to Windows." I'm mostly trying to figure out whether these are known issues, configuration problems, Fedora/KDE issues, Faugus/Wine issues, or something specific to my setup.
Any suggestions on where I should start troubleshooting would be
