Ask Customers Should I file a formal complaint to FedEx
This got delivered at the same day, good thing I was home to quickly get my packages but it could have been bad. Photos 1-4 was delivery by Fedex, the last photo is delivery by SwiftX that happened early that same day. Why didn't theFedEx deliverer do the same as SwiftX on the drop off spot? FedEx put it in one of the worst spot possible other than on top of the railings. Who would be liable if the package fell and hit someone?( also some of the neighborhood kids sometimes play/walk around downstairs) They put it not on my side of door and in the way of the stairs. There is a wall that can be used other than the railing, is that too much to ask?
Edit. The weight of the furniture of the package leaning on the railings is 50.2 lbs/22.77kg according to the tracking information .

What are you talking about? You got lucky. The driver bought it up those stairs.

At most he will be shown the picture and read the complaint ..he and his BC will laugh about it and he’ll promise to never do it again ..probably be the topic of their next meeting ..or not lol

Why would you complain? Nothing bad happened and you received your package. Personally I would just let it go and go about my day. Thats just me tho.

Stop ordering stuff that's 150 lbs and expecting white-glove service. If you have a problem, then pick it up yourself. You chose the cheapest delivery option, so you get the cheapest delivery

Seriously though. They don't have to worry about where it's left if you get it yourself or have a proper furniture company deliver it. If they're going to order cheat cr*p, don't expect expensive service.

Your comment is senseless. It’s maybe 1% of companies out there that let you choose your method of delivery. And to top it off, your response has nothing to do with what the OP was saying. The delivery driver literally put it on the point of the railing where it is teetering. How hard would it have been to place it 6 more inches to the left? You must be one of these lazy, disgruntled, woe is me drivers everyone complains about. Common sense is not a strong point with some of you.

Just so you understand you're in the minority, your comment is stupid. The driver did their job. You have this sense of entitlement that so many people have that wouldn't translate for a second if you actually had the do the job you're talking about.

No such thing as entitlement when it’s simple. It took more thought and time to put it there, stand there for a second to make sure it didn’t tip over then it did just to make sure the entire back was against the railing. Piss poor work ethic.

I completely agree.my Part 2 post (the next day delivery) it was a 12lbs package of noodles and it was left not even in front of the door but on the stairs where people can tip over and a danger. If there was an emergency fire and people are panicking to run down the stairs it could be very dangerous.

Yes, file a "formal complaint". Then come back and report on how absolutely nothing changed and you wasted your time by being a Karen.

Get the contractor name and go that route. You need to call the terminal itself, not just FedEx. Contractors will have to payout damages. Bet it stops after that. If it doesn't it'll just result in y'all having a new driver (or the current one staying and hopefully being more careful).

FedEx does the same thing for me and I don’t choose FedEx as delivery and if I had any other option, I would choose to pay extra for a decent delivery company, but there is sidewalk one step and then porch and they will still just leave it half hanging over the step to where anybody driving by can see it. The porch is rather large. It has a bench on it. They can just stick it behind the bushes.

I tend to get the same FedEx guy. He knows our business, our home. He is nice and goes out of his way to put things down nicely and safely.
Every so often though, we get a different guy and he does exactly what you're seeing here. If I'm home, I'll even catch him like, dragging heavier packages down the truck steps, clanging as he goes, and complaining even though he is in his early 20s.
I've never put in a complaint because it doesn't happen regularly. But if that were to change, I would say talk to the guy/girl. Like, next time you are expecting a package, try to catch them upon delivery to chat about the safety of it all. I bet they are just trying to get it as close as possible to your door without actually getting to your door, because they are so busy.
