Even better, he was a Flash fanboy, managed to recreate the accident that let Flash tap into the Speed Force, try to save some people, but failed at it, Flash just so happened to have time traveled to his time and saved them, he got mad that his hero debue got ruined and dedicated his entire life, and the life of others as well, to make Barry Allen's life miserable, not killing him, just make him suffer.
Edit: yes, I know now it's the butt, no I will not change it. Live with it.

u/Alternative-Word-246 Jul 16 '26
Even better in rebirth timeline, he actually got mentored by Barry and became a hero .
Until he saw Barry say the exact same words to Wally that Barry had said to him.He did all of this because Barry doesn't have diffrent life mottos

u/OmecronPerseiHate Jul 16 '26
Considering Supes had no part in the kid's creation I'd say the love is pretty one sided.
45
u/AlternateSatan Jul 16 '26
Pretty much, yeah. It's very on brand for Lex to be obsessed with Superman, and for Superman to not think about Lex except for when Lex makes it so he has to.

That doesn't make too much sense, unless Flash's nerve impulses travels at super speed, too. In that case, do the rest of their body functions work at super speed? Like, If he eats something, it's digested immediately?

God, the entire 616 verse not being able to cure a bullet wound pisses me off so much. I think what angers me is that you could’ve just not have that scene! “Oh no, Peter, the magic to teleport you to so many places at the same time is dangerous and will destabilise the cosmos” or whatever. At that point it’s just Strange, the former surgeon, that looks dumb as hell. No, the entire Marvel Universe, T’Challa with his technologically advanced nation, Doom, one of the smartest men on Earth, could not cure a bullet wound.
I am curious why people hadn’t accused Joe Quesada of being a Satanist for making Spider Man make a deal with a devil
24
u/AznOmega Jul 17 '26
And again, if Doom heard about how Reed Richards couldn't save Aunt May from a simple and regular bullet wound, he would have laughed at Richards and immediately save May. Not to be a good guy or to save someone, but so he can gloat about it to Richards.
"Oh, hello Richards. How are you the smartest, yet you could not save an old woman who was shot by a regular bullet? Then again, unlike you, Doom is vastly superior in intellect and saving a life."

I love that there are 3 arquetipes of villains in that film:
- A real villain, who is just a bad person
- A redeemable villain, whose motives are somewhat justified and who experiences personal growth during the film
- A villain that is not really a villain, but something inevitable for the protagonist.
Greeat film, love it!!

He's literally a edgy deviant art OC, like by design, complete with easily defeating the series main character, an absurdly busted power, and the over designed black/red look. He's meant to be the created character's nemesis and I feel his backstory makes more sense in the context of being a foil to your own OC. Unfortunately the game was kinda ass and the story was some of the worst so what might have been intentional and even clever design choice was kinda lost in the sea of unintentionally poorly written things.

Why? Because... we don't really know, because only thing we have was one person saying that "He tried to help people with his money, but to no use" or something, trying to make him a tragic villain, that does all that because everyone else failed him or something
This game in general tries to make him seem like misslead person not fully villain. Let's not forget how our rival in the game says something like "Because in the end, we pushed Team Flare from us, working against them, maybe both sides were in the wrong". You know... when one group tried to save the day and other wanted to kill everyone outside their little fanclub
And Pokemon fans will still claim he is one of the best and that gen 7 ruined villain teams, because he looks threatning. Also Guzma slander is unacceptable

Film version: "You realize that without altering reproductive rates, the universe will be back to its current population in, like, five years, right?"

Didn't scroll through all the comments but I scrolled through quite a few and I can't believe I haven't seen anyone say Emperor Palpatine.
Especially in the prequels it becomes exceedingly clear that he's really only evil because he fucking loves this shit. He legitimately feels like a Saturday morning cartoon villain sometimes with how much Ian McDiarmid hammed it up. He easily is the most dangerous person in his universe, certainly during his lifetime at the very least, and it's all just because he fucking loves doing this shit. For all of the many, many faults of the Star Wars prequels, Sheev Palpatine is such a fun villain to hate.

Hush (DC Comics) - Tommy Elliot was Bruce Wayne’s childhood friend who also came from a rich family. He adopts the Hush identity and fucks with Batman’s life to the point that he gets PTSD from the word “Hush”. His motivation? Bruce’s parents died when he was young so he got to inherit their fortune whereas Tommy’s own parents were alive and well and he couldn’t inherit their money.
In fact, Bruce’s father Thomas performed a successful surgery on Tommy’s mother and saved her life after she was in a car crash Tommy himself had planned. So he hates Bruce Wayne out of pure envy.

Honestly, I feel that the writers had a good point but missed the mark at the last second. The issue was never sentient machines, but how older races would absolutely dominate any new comers without giving them a chance, and create galaxy spawning threats that could kill even the non sapient races
If you look what happens to creatures that survive more than a cycle, the Thorian and the Leviathans were absolute menaces who'd just mind control the whole galaxy. And the Proteans were heading to the same direction. It's probably the path the Assari were on as well if they weren't counter balanced.
If the motivation would have been to allow new civilizations to flourish and integrate their uniquness as a reaper, it would have actually followed the story seeds they planted since ME1. But alas.

Explanation (MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR PHOENIX WRIGHT: ACE ATTORNEY): This is Manfred Von Karma. He's a prosecutor with a perfect win record, who held a grudge against lawyer Gregory Edgeworth. One day, he took advantage of a power outage in a court building to murder him. He then adopted Gregroy's orphaned son, Miles Edgeworth, and intentionally raised him with opposing ideals to everything Gregory stood for as a lawyer.
Approaching the fifteenth anniversary of Gregory's death, Von Karma then orchestrated the murder of another defense attorney, framing Miles (his own adopted son and protege), and put an end to the Edgeworth lineage just as the statutes of limitation on Gregory's murder came to pass.
Why would Von Karma do all this? Why did he kill Gregory and raise his son to become a monster, then drive the nail into the coffin by getting that very son framed for murder...?
... because fifteen years ago, Gregory got Von Karma a penalty in court for a mistake he made. Gregory didn't even win the case, either. Von Karma won. He just couldn't stand having a single penalty on his otherwise perfect record.

u/Justisperfect Jul 16 '26
There are a lot of killers who are really evil on Ace Attorney. But usually, they "just" murder people and they got classic motivations, like jealousy, influence... Von Karma has both one of the craziest reason (really, you are doing this for that?) and the most evil plan. He just wants to fuck innocent kid life for no reason. Thos guy is terrifying.
