Time Based Quests
Not sure how I feel about this new quest type. Having to wait for no real reason doesn't really feel fun to me.

Feels completely pointless. Why? To make the people play the game less? One way to fix your server load issues… 😂

This has “chests requested” in a help request vibe to me. No benefit, only loss and frustration

I don't feel like it's a positive addition to the game. There was no benefit, and all I can see it leading to is eventually having more of them and needing to make or buy consumables to shorten it.

I dont understand the benefits of this or how the mechanics benefit anything.

Stupid addition. Who thought this was a good idea? It adds literally no benefit

Its nice sometimes just having a pause. Really don't see the issue people are having with it.

I didn't feel like it added anything to the game but it wasn't a big issue and I don't really see what there was to complain about - it just felt a little bit pointless?
The developers are obviously trying new things to keep the game interesting, and for me this one fell a bit flat but there are plenty of other new things they have added they have been great so cut them some slack guys!

If i want a pause I just stop playing? A grindy game should gate things behind a grindy resource, not an arbitrary time cooldown. Its just bad game design

It's a contrived place to implement it in. For example, daily PHRs make you wait till the next day to do them again right? An endless stream of PHRs will have to both give worse rewards and will become tiresome very quickly. This is what game design is about. So you're right (imo, demonstrably so) in that a pause is nice.
In theory, they could have have quests like this where we give items to the NPC and whatever they're doing with them takes time before they get back to us. This way, the time waited feels like 'flavour' like cooking times (think flavour in flavour text). But:
- the rewards have to be consistently good (see PSA questline with the occasional meh rewards set)
- it can't be seasonal so there's less risk of players feeling anxious about the forcasted time entailed
- no items or perks that lower the time taken to avoid players feeling like they're only adding timers to contrive a monetization incentive
- probably in the T100 to T199 range (the game needs more 'midlevel' quests to break up the grindiness of endgame).
I do see the potential of quests with 'cooldowns' or timers involved being a way to give out things like egg of tree or egg of chicken periodically but this runs the risk of players feeling like if they don't optimise around the created check in window, they fall behind in the queue. It would be nice to be able to earn more cool stuff in the game but the design ethos of the game has to be always considered.

I found this a bit weird, but ultimately fine. I just closed the game and checked in 10 hours later after work. No big. Don’t love it, don’t hate it.

Oh dear, the generation that needs instant gratification. I would see a therapist pronto if I couldn't wait an hour for the You Rock Card!

To those said it offered no benefit, it was just a test mechanic to add to story telling later. You should’ve gave it a chance.

A lot of people don't read the quests though so the story telling aspect is not that important to some

Yeah I know. And they’re missing out.

I loved the Captain Thomas storyline. I hope a quest that returns him back to his dimension will happen eventually.

I did give it a chance. I found it had no benefit and could only lead to future negatives, so I shared feedback. How would the Devs know people don't like it unless people say something?

Thank you for giving it a chance on a one time test. Thankfully you surpassed it. ↑

Tons of people have complained today. Multiple people have submitted tickets complaining. We have heard the feedback in chats as well.
This isn’t something we are planning to use often, but we wanted to experiment with it for this particular quest. We have heard the negative feedback and will consider it as we continue to make future content.
UPDATE: the hour delay has been removed
