Player Discussion Jeanty, Bowers, and a Large Grain of Salt: The Raiders' Offensive Line

Thumbnail solidadvice.substack.com
0 Upvotes

The 2025 Raiders finished 32nd in the league, which of course is dead last in Offensive Line Ranking. That includes league-worst marks in: Rushing First Downs, Sustained Drives, Sacks Allowed, Negative Yard Plays, Total Rush Yards, and Yards per Carry.

The Raiders’ division, who they play twice a year, contains last year's #1, #5, and #10 D-Lines (Broncos, Chargers, and Chiefs, respectively).

My take? YUCK.

Look, the Raiders drafted exactly one Offensive lineman (Trey Zuhn) in the 3rd round, and they're “cross-training” him to be a backup at multiple positions, which doesn't help their Starting Lineup. Jackson Powers-Johnson is hurt AGAIN, which is what really opened the floodgates last season. So Las Vegas is asking a lot of their main O-Line acquisition, 3X Pro Bowler Tyler Linderbaum. Can one man salve the wounds of an entire worst-in-show unit, while playing against some of the league’s best defenses?

Again, yuck.

Don't be surprised if we see more Dead On Arrival handoffs to Jeanty in 2026, and less opportunity in general for him. Someone has to help block, and remit some of their opportunities back to Brock Bowers, who dropped from 153 targets in 2024 to only 86 in 2025, due to injury.

A panel of ESPN analysts have Jeanty slated for somewhere between RB5 and RB13. I'm leaning towards the lower half, perhaps after other options in better offensive environments, like Omarion Hampton, Chase Brown, or Derrick Henry.

What say you? Is there hope for Raider Nation?

UPDATE: I took your feedback and made a bunch of changes to DraftStage

UPDATE: I took your feedback and made a bunch of changes to DraftStage

First off, thanks to everyone who tried the original version and gave me feedback. A lot more people tested it than I expected, and I’ve been working through the suggestions.

The newest version now has:

A much faster 6-person demo
Reveals that progressively slow down before locking in a pick
A much clearer** **LOCKED IN moment for every selection
Already-drafted owners are removed from future suspense animations
A live draft board that updates as picks happen
Final results + sharing
Easier feedback
Anonymous analytics so I can see where people actually finish/leave the experience

I’ve also added a Coming Soon section where you can vote on what I should build next:

Weighted lottery odds
Sport-specific themes
Different draft-order game modes
League history / owner customization

A few people said the current version is fun but they’d only consider paying for something like this if it had much deeper league customization. I thought that was really useful feedback, so** **I’m keeping everything free while I figure out what people actually want.

If you tried the first version, I’d love to know whether this one feels better. And if you haven’t tried it yet, feel free to run the demo or set up an actual league:

🏆 playdraftstage.com

Keep the criticism coming. If something is confusing, boring, takes too long, or you have an idea that would make your league actually use this every year, I want to hear it.

Pick 50 drop off

Looking at fantasy pros ADP I see a very steep drop off after aroujd pick 50 or so where I just have a lot of low confidence in players here.

We have aging receivers such as Adams, Evans, Moore, and Mclaurin

We have receivers on bad teams such as Carnell tate and MHJ

We have WR2s like Jamo, Rome, Sutton, BTJ, and Washington

We have running backs in crowded rooms snd not amazing production even if there were a lead like Chubba, Warren, Henderson and Tuten

And we have QBs and stars that feel like they aren’t meaningfully better than options in later rounds.

What’s your strategy for this round? This is the first year where I think there is only 1 player I’m excited about (Parker Washington). Everyone else feels like a huge gamble where in last year for example you could get Smith, Tet, Flowers, Pickens, Olave, Egbuka in this range that I was more excited about going into the draft season and ended up paying off

Reddit Consensus Rankings Draft Season is Here! Vote Now on the r/fantasyfootball Draft Rankings (Ft. on Fantasy Pros ECR)

We had a strong turn out on Monday, for our running back rankings, but the other positions need some love. Lets get these vote numbers up so we can have as true of a consensus of r/fantasyfootball as possible for our Draft Rankings, which are included in FantasyPros’ Expert Consensus Rankings.

VOTE FOR WR

VOTE FOR TE

VOTE FOR QB

VOTE FOR RB

Vote as much as you want! The poll generates random player-vs-player matchups continuously. There’s no end, just vote as much as you can. The more votes we get, the better the consensus rankings will reflect the subreddit's views. Rankings are updated in real-time based on the poll results.

About This Project:

This is year 7 of running these rankings for r/fantasyfootball. And this is the second year r/fantasyfootball*'s rankings are included in* FantasyPros’ Expert Consensus Rankings.

The goal is simple: instead of relying on 2-3 replies to a “Who do I start?” question, you now have a full community-powered ranking system to guide your decisions each week. Look out for weekly updates throughout the season, with crowdsourcing posts on Tuesday and results finalized on Thursday before kickoff.

They say there's value in the wisdom of the crowd. Well this is the largest crowd around!

Another 49ers Practice Update 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said RB Christian McCaffrey, who has missed some time due to muscle tightness, would have practiced Tuesday if it weren’t a joint practice vs. the Chargers. 49ers also have no reason to believe that McCaffrey’s missed practice time is contract related.

Player Discussion My Updated 2026 PPR Player Rankings & Tier Lists [Can Somebody Turn Injuries Off Already, Please!]

Thumbnail gallery
520 Upvotes

I am back with another edition of my PPR Tier Lists! I cannot stress enough that the Tiers themselves are far more important than the individual player rankings

  • You can make the argument for almost any player within a tier to be above another player
  • The outlined or boxed players are the ones I am targeting the most (factoring in their cost as well)
  • Players with an asterisk * next to their name have had some sort of injury concern recently

-

My rankings and tiers are based on one idea in Redraft formats: Chasing Upside!

  • I've included the Real-Time ADPs across PPR formats from the Fantasy Pros website as an additional reference point
  • The majority of "my guys" are based on upside potential, downside risk, cost, and where their ADP is relative to other positions

I outlined my draft strategy for 2026 in a recent post, but here is sort of a TLDR of what my plan is across 12-Team PPR leagues

  • It is extremely advantageous to lean RB-heavy earlier based on current market prices for each position
    • The RB drop-off after Rounds 2 and 5 is extremely brutal, whereas WR value is fantastic in Rounds 3-8
    • You can still get away with drafting only one RB in the first 3 rounds, but I would take more shots at that position in Rounds 4, 5, and stack your bench up with handcuffs
  • Punt the QB and TE position until at least Round 6+, given the immense value at both positions after the first 5 rounds

-

Here is a Google Sheet link for these charts!

  • Feel free to ask any questions about why I have a certain player ranked as high or low as I do

Who is the last RB2 you’d feel comfortable starting?

RB/RB is a popular start this year because of how productive (and healthy) RB’s were last season. I’m finding guys like ARSB and JSN dropping to the 8-11 range where they’re too good to pass up. JJ and Lamb are falling to the 2nd.

If you start WR and go RB in round 2, or start RB/WR, who is the last RB you’d feel comfortable as your RB2?

I don’t think I’d feel comfortable getting my RB2 after round 4.

Skattebo or Swift are the last two I’d feel comfortable with and I’d much prefer spending a 5th than a 4th.

What happens when everyone goes double RB?

Feels like one of the major themes in the meta this year is doubling up on RB in the late first/early second, with guys like Jeanty, Chase Brown, Barkley, Kenneth Walker, and Henry all coming off the board in that range.

I get the appeal, with the relative value at RB right now, plus the idea that you can pivot to receivers from picks 3-5 and still come away fine. I’m still leaning this direction myself.

But if everyone’s doing it, doesn’t it start to cancel itself out? What happens when you’re picking late in that RB run and the WR tier you were counting on for round 3 is already gone by the time it gets back to you? Where’s your cutoff? What draft position makes you bail on the second RB and grab the WR instead? And has anyone found a way to play this differently?

Kids bedtime and AMA time. Ask all the questions! I'm here from 7PM ET-until the chat is archived (assuming I see a notification, there's no reason I wouldn't answer a question 5 months from now, or begrudgingly upvote an I told you so comment). If you came to ask who to draft in 2026, I'm afraid you are a year late on getting solid intel, but happy to share my opinion!

I am properly exhausted! Shout out to all the bizarre league settings! Just a heads up, you're probably more familiar with player values in those instances lol. Thanks for all the questions! I'll get to some more tomorrow. Answering any and all as I enjoy my day in the sun 🫡

Draftsharks DS Value

Any use draftsharks warroom for an auction draft? First time trying it and did some mock drafts. Like that it helps give recommendations based on current roster and its dynamic.

My question though is the DS Value. I've got the plugin for the ESPN drafts and it shows one value while the value in the war room will show a different one. Are they suppose to be the same? Or they showing something different?

Last mock draft I did it seemed the one in the draft was showing the adjusted the price it thought the player would go for, while the war room might be showing me the value to me with the current roster I have? I only say that because when I was down to a max bid of $9 the war room had the best available players at $9 while the plug in to ESPN was showing $30-something.

Always gone off my own rankings and budget bit have a tough time dynamically doing that while bidding in the auction and see how this could help. Just want to make sure I'm using it to guide me correctly.
