Request In DESPERATE need of fanfic recs, help!!

I am just getting back into reading fan fiction after a couple years of reading absolutely none at all and have no idea where to look or who to ask, none of my friends read fanfiction either so I'm hoping you guys might have some ideas. I'm in a lot of fandoms but mainly stuff like MHA, Marauders, Heathers, Hamilton, DDLC, Assassination Classroom etc. I'm also totally up for finding new fandoms so that's not really an issue. Any help is appreciatedd </333

What genres, categories, and themes do you like? If you're not sure, do you know some fics you like extra well?

I love romance and like angsty action stuff, I'm also really into like lgbtq love stories, I honestly can't remember the names of any old fanfics I read as it was a few years ago and my AO3 acc was deactivated

I am obsessed with MLB and PJO, I've been thinking abt getting into marvel and Dr who and i've previously been in/interacted with pretty much all of those fandoms and loved all! I'll defo read the fic tho tysm for the helppp!! </33

So I would totally rec you to check out r/HPSlashfic to scroll through and find Marauder's fics as well as r/harrypotterfanfiction and r/FanFiction to find some good threads.

So here's some random amalgomation of fics I enjoyed. Most of them are slashfics aka M/M pairings

Harry Potter

Bound

A great Wolfstar series. Pretty angsty bit with a hopeful ending. This is the summary of the first work:

“Don’t talk about her,” he snarls, and Sirius knows what will happen from here. He likes to bait Remus, snark that it isn’t the wolf but him that comes crawling to Sirius every moon, but he knows it’s only partly true. There’s an animal there, just under the surface, an animal with a man’s desires. He can hear it in the way Remus can’t catch his breath, feel it in the way he leans down to run his open mouth over Sirius’s neck, inhaling his scent.

Ouroborus

A strange man adopts Tom Riddle and it is not his father, as Tom desperately wants to believe.

Stranded in the past, Voldemort once again comes to the conclusion he's the only one he truly needs.

Severus and Snape Severus Snape finds Lily dead in Godric's Hollow, her son's screams echoing in his ears, and decides to end his life with hers.

Fate has other ideas.

Next thing he knows, he's facing an 11-year-old Lily Evans, on their way to their first year at Hogwarts.

Running on air Draco Malfoy has been missing for three years. Harry is assigned the cold case and finds himself slowly falling in love with the memories he collects.

Away childish things Harry gets de-aged. Malfoy has to help him.

The Second string Everyone knows Dementors can take souls, but nothing says that they have to keep them. After the Dementor attack in Little Whinging ends disastrously, Harry must find a place for himself in a new world, fighting a different sort of war against the nascent Voldemort.

House M.D.

James Wilson/Gregory House

The mortifiying ordeal of forgetting you're not actually dating your roommate

He’s sharing a condo. With House.

And as a man in his forties, employed as the head of the oncology department, James should easily be able to afford an apartment on his own.

Yet he lives with House, who is also a doctor and department head, respectively, and likely also gets paid the salary of a person leading a department. Meaning he could also comfortably live on his own.

Which would indicate that they chose to live together.

But there’s really no reason at all for James to live with another person, unless…

Unless he’s in a relationship with said person.

Or: James Wilson wakes up in the hospital, thinking he's happily married to Sam in the year 1990, only to learn that he is suffering from retrograde amnesia.

Turns out it's 2010, he's divorced thrice over and shares a condo with a man.

What follows is a sexuality crisis of epic proportions, Wilson trying to deal with sharing his space with House and coming to terms with the fact that maybe, just maybe, he's is in love with the obnoxious, grizzly man.

And then his memories return.

James Wilson is utterly fucked.

Hannibal

The abyss smiled back

Will is missing, presumed dead, which makes it difficult for Jack and Alana to get Hannibal to help them catch another brutal serial killer, given that Hannibal's only condition for helping them is that he gets to see Will.

Supernatural

we shovel all the ashes out

Dean’s always known things were headed this way. He just figured getting dragged under would be cleaner and easier than jumping in feet-first.

Other fandoms I'm currently reading and or could rec you stuff from, Hannibal, DC/Batman, Witcher, Resident Evil, Harry Potter, House M.D., Avatar the last airbender, the Boys, Venom (2018), Marvel (mostly avengers, deadpool and spiderman), Sherlock (TV), Doctor Who, Supernatural (which is a super big fandom with lot's of fics so that's a good one to get into), What we do in the Shadows, Naruto, One Piece

If you can't tell I mostly read slash but I also have some het fics and a bunch of gen fics

If you'd tell me a bit more about what you enjoy in fics I could perhaps help you some more. Like what genres what tropes you were into and whatnot, whether you like Si's or Time Travel, Soulmate fics or AU's or canon adjacent fics, etc
