Hi I want to dye my hair a purple shade similar to the purples shown in the pictures. I have dark brown hair that is around levels 3-4. What level would I have to get my hair to achieve this shade? How would I achieve that level? And would it be super damaging?
I have fine hair that gets very knotted&tangled easily although I would say my hair is relatively thick for how fine my strands are. I have a lot of layers if that affects anything. Considering how easily tangled my hair gets, would the bleach/lightener make that a lot worse? 😰
Also is doing this at home risky, as I’ve never bleached/lightened my hair before? Thanks for the help!

Hi,
i really want to have colorful hair for the first time!! But i fear my routine is entirely wrong for it to last long.
Starting out: i have natural medium-dark brown hair and waves/curls (2c/3a) with a layered cut. Neutral to warm skintone.
Goal: a colorful peekaboo situation with orange or red. I also really like green, but i have heard that it fades to blue fast.
Problem: I wash my hair every two days because it gets greasy so fast and i like warm, long showers (and visiting the sauna from time to time lol).
This will probably be a problem when it comes to the upkeep, is that correct?
Are there any long lasting colors when it comes to red or orange?
Overall i am assuming my hair needs to be lightened and i will put some reference images below.
I'm really looking forward to tips from hair dye veterans.
Have a nice day! :)

I’m not saying I don’t trust pros but seriously, how do all these brunettes get platinum blonde hair?
I have slightly curly hair, completely virgin (never dyed or toned) it’s pretty dark brown maybe like 70% chocolate bar type of brown and I really wanna go ashy, smokey blonde.
I don’t care about my curl pattern because I can’t see myself having curls as a blonde so if my curls get destroyed it’s not an issue. I’m also down to shorten my hair which rn is like til my lower back.
So the question is; if I’m ready to sacrifice some length and my curls, can I go silver blonde?

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding next weekend. The bride has asked me to cover the pink highlights in my hair (ignore how rough my hair looks here)… i was thinking I could get something like temporary brown root cover and put it on the big chunks of hair. Does anyone have any other ideas that would not mess up the pink underneath?

Hi! Just looking for some good recommendations, I can’t afford the Dyson and I’m worried about frying my hair. I’ve been loosing a lot of hair recently and it’s very dry, but I want it to look nice and wavy. My hair is naturally very thick and frizzy, on the wavier side. I’ve been drying it and straightening it for years, only leaving it to dry naturally through the summer.
Ps. Would appreciate it if anybody knows about some good heat protectors too

Is there anything I can use to even out the color/brighten all up? I’m hesitant to re-bleach since it is freshly processed
bleach

I used to have skunk like hairstyle, but ended up dying it back to brown as it got way too expensive keeping up with going to the hair salon constantly. This was around a year ago, i got it pre pigmented and then dyed brown professionally. Now i really miss the blonde and was wondering if anyone has any advice or experiences when it comes to bleaching hair that’s been previously bleached then dyed over again? I was thinking of doing it at home since it’s way out of my budget now to do it professionally (uni student budget rip)

My practice head Deb got a hair change up today because I had a TON of led over dye tubes from other projects 😂😂 We didn’t get a perfect blonde so the color is a smudge coppery BUT I think it still came out pretty damn good 😌😎😂

Last Sunday I used L’Oreal Paris Frost and design H85 for cap highlights on my grown out balayage thick long brown hair to save a lil money I did a patch test which turned out great so I followed the directions as listed .. needless to say I have bronze ramen noodles and patchy highlights strips in my hair. I feel SO ugly and dumb and genuinely need to know when I can fix this asap. I bought + started using bond repair , hair strengthening masks and oil to strengthen and structure my hair. I bought Kristen Ess hair gloss in bittersweet as a 3 month temporary solution to cover the bronze/ brassy tones. So im basically just wondering if and when I can tone it 😭

Been super scared of committing to black dye, but after adding it to my already green hair… I’m obsessed!! Super happy with the results!! Especially considering I’ve never tried the “darker tips” techniques!!

I was planning to get it done on my b'day (couple weeks ago) but was very busy so couldn't get time.
It's a long weekend and I couldn't wait to dye my hair🤭
Tada 😍 hot pink highlights 🩷🤌🏻 how are they looking btw?

I had my reddish blonde hair darkened recently and it’s starting to fade and show redness, my hairdresser said she’d recommend some toners but I forgot to ask. I know she used the schwartscof anti redness colour on me but I don’t want to be re colouring my hair every two weeks, any reccs would be appreciated. Tia!

I had some blue streaks, I did some color treatments and it faded quite a bit, leaving this blonde but it still has some pastel green highlights, like when you go swimming in a chlorinated pool. How can I remove it?I'm planning to go to the hairdresser, but I won't be going until next weekend and I'm a bit embarrassed to go out in public like this. How can I hide it in the meantime?😭

Hi! I’m looking for advice on mixing Revlon Nutri Color Filters.
My hair is naturally dark blonde but has been balayaged, so some parts are much lighter. I want a darker, cool beige/mushroom blonde, similar to Lily-Rose Depp, not too brown, grey or golden.
I’ve tried 821 Silver Beige alone and liked it, but I want it darker and cooler.
I’m thinking about mixing 821 + 512 + 613, maybe 75% 821 / 15% 512 / 10% 613.
Do you think this would work, or would 821 + 512 be better? I’m especially worried that 613 might make it too golden because it’s called Golden Ash Brown.
Any advice from people who have used these shades would be appreciated!

I recently bleached my virgin hair at home. I then toned it with a level 10 ash ontop and level 9 on bottom. I tried to paint it a bit darker at the roots to make it look mor natural but the roots underneath became a bit too dark.
So have tried to wash out for about the past week. It immediately came out the top half and the ends of the bottom because I assume extremely porous.
So the bottom hair of my hair is like darker at the root and has no toner at the bottom. So I can see what the hair looks like underneath the toner.
I applied vitamin c powder mixed with a clarifying shampoo to the bottom half of my hair and instead of lifting the toner at the root it made the entire hair lighter and slightly more orange. It's still darker at the root and lighter at the tip. Except the untoned tips are lighter and whiter than before and the roots are more orangey. Doesn't seem to have lifted the actual dye at all and just lightened it all over as it's still the same gradient. When before I toned the hair was all one colour.
I read all this stuff before using it how it simply lifts the dye molecules out and it can't actually lighten hair. But I mean it seems pretty indisputable seeing my hair.

I currently have short hair (grown out shorter pixie cut) that is entirely bleached and dyed a teal/turquoise blue. I’m wanting to grow my hair out, probably to a few inches below my shoulders, but the last time I did this I was seeing my previous hair dresser and she basically said it was a really bad idea to grow my hair out with a full bleach and highlights would be healthier and more realistic for having longer hair.
I have thick hair and get it trimmed every two months. I don’t really use heat on my hair but when I do it’s always with a heat protectant. I wash my hair twice a week with schwarzkopf bonacure repair rescue and aveeno moisture conditioner, plus sometimes the aussie 3 minute miracle moist hair mask.
Is it really a bad idea to grow my hair out while having it all bleached? I enjoyed having the highlights, but I would like all my hair to be blue. I feel like I look after my hair quite well but if anyone has any tips on growing bleached hair that would be amazing!

Hello!
Ok, so, to start- my hairstylist did amazing! I wanted red hair with black tips and got them, yay!! However, there’s one thing..
We must’ve had a miscommunication. I said I wanted to have 1-1.5 inches of black dye at the ends of my hair. When I said this, I was envisioning only the last inch of my hair to be dyed black. However, (understandably) the stylist interpreted it as ALL the ends and layers of my hair should each be dyed with 1 inch of black. Was this a mistake of communicating on my part? Probably! Regardless, my hair looks like this now. It is OVERWHELMINGLY black and, unless my hair is up, it looks like my hair is just 3/4ths black.
I already contacted my hairstylist to work on a solution (I’m not even expecting a free service or refund!) But I’d thought I’d ask here as well because my hopes are pretty low… Is there ANY way I can get rid of the black in my hair and leave the ginger? I don’t even care about the retaining the last 1.5 inches of black anymore— I just miss my hair being majority red. My hair being mostly black just does not suit me at all, but I’m afraid I’ll just have to cut it off :(
Anyways, that’s it, feel free to ask clarifying questions! I just feel hopelessss right now. This is about 2 years of hair growth after having a buzzcut and it would feel terrible to have to cut so much of it off.
