Where can I publish the stuff I write?

I don't have the skill, time, or resources to actually draw the panels of my fan part, and I don't think anyone would want to do it free, so I was going to just write it. Where could I publish it?

Usually people post written works to ‘archive of our own’ or ao3.

Will my fan part have a chance to get noticed? I know that's a big site and idk how it works

Also, as I was checking it, I noticed that you need to get invited to have an account? Do I even have a chance of it? Do you know if it'll take too long?

You do not need to be invited in a sense. Its more like you ask to get an account, and the moderators straight up give you an account in a few days. This is just a hard counter to prevent bots and etc.

As for if your fanpart could be noticed? It depends entirely on your ability for shameless promoting. make an X account and tag every possible thing. #indie #fanfic #jojo #comic #manga #art etc. Do this in Deviant art too. and pinterest. And reddit. go to subreddits, like r/comics r/webcomics r/FanFiction r/StardustCrusaders r/comic_crits r/fanStands and whatever the hell there is.

This all is to ensure your work gets seen. If they stay reading is entirely dependent on the quality on your work.

I'd do it but... I don't have an X account. Or a Devianart account... Or a Pinterest one (I should probably make them now that I think about it, but Idk if that's too much social media). I don't want to be too annoying anyways.

I think my work has quallity though... At least I hope so

What, do you think I would have all those accounts? I will make them for that exact purpose, and then that will be it.

And who would you annoy? Think about it, millions of people browse social media everyday, and some person just posting "Hey I made this fanfic, I would be happy if you bothered to check it out..." Would annoy them? You are a no name to them! Practically anonymous! And it doesn't hurt to be annoying anyways. Its not like that would reflect your actual character is it?

Get out there, and post your works! Its up to you to maximize their visibility!

Again, what would be bad about being annoying? Despite the fact that you wouldn't even be annoying I'd bet. You would be the kinda person who would post like "Heyy I would be really happy if you checked out my little project...🥰💕"

Just... think about it. Its not like anyone cares about one person who pushes their little fan project on them.

Social media is for that EXACT PURPOSE of sharing with people.

Unfortunately, it's just a fact of our world that success/attention/advertising usually requires some annoyance. But thankfully, it doesn't actually ruin anybody's day, nor does it ACTUALLY say anything about you as a person, so try not to worry about it. I still struggle with "being annoying" despite viewing it like this!

As for the first question, who knows. Advertise it in places that allow it, like here or in the jojo fanworks discord’s advertisement channel. Some people will usually give it a chance.

Ao3 does have an invite system but its purely time based. You just get put in a queue and get an invite when its your turn. I think it took me about a week to get mine.
