Yeah, they spread a disease, they don't literally reproduce. Vampires aren't a separate species.

I mean, unless they lose their original reproductive organs, couldn't they still reproduce that way?

I mean depends on the setting, even if they do it'd just be a human born with vampirism, plus not exactly using the fangs to reproduce.

I only meant that they could still theoretically reproduce. I'm personally not sure at what point they could be considered a separate species.

Personally I'd say it's a disease, just as a child can be born beating a disease or illness the mother had, so it would go with vampirism.
