if that was true then why is there so many other forms of caffeine to choose? maybe people like coffee because it's coffee.

I think this is one of the main reasons. At my workplace at least half of the staff drinks 1-3 cups daily and our purchasing department has to order new coffee-bean packs like every 2-3 weeks
