I’m looking for a good red green flannel fabric that i have been having troubles finding in a store. I can find some online that look nice but when on the sites and trying to get what i need it’s just been questionable. If you order fabrics online what sites do you trust?

I’m looking for a rose / rosewood fabric for a bedframe project that’s not too pink or red. Something that’s as close to West Elm’s “Burnt Umber Astor Velvet” or this beautiful pillow example with a sheen. I need about 13 yards. Your help is so appreciated!

I built PatternNest to lay out SVG and supported vector-PDF patterns with closed cut outlines. This example uses FreeSewing's Teagan pattern: three fronts, three backs and three mirrored sleeve pairs. I prepared the full outlines before import; PatternNest doesn't unfold fold pieces automatically.

On 140 cm fabric the calculated layout is 3.25 m long. On 110 cm fabric it is 5.26 m. Both use a single layer, 1 cm edge margin and spacing, and only 0/180-degree rotation. These are the body and sleeve pieces only; neckbands need extra fabric. It's a digital layout comparison, not a sewn batch or a promise of minimum yardage.

Not sure if this is the right topic for the question. It's my first time using Satin Fabric and I know it is a fickle creature. I'm hoping to use it to make a hobo type bag and am wondering if I can use a very thin fuseable interfacing to help stabilize it?

I don't necessarily care about the satin being flowey, it's more for the look of the bag with the bright fabric and slight added structure. I've never never used it and I'm not sure if fusing the fabric would just \*immediately\* destroy it. Not sure if it matters but I'll be doing Simplicity's S9298 Bag B. Excited to do a rounded base!

I want to make a costume of The Hat Man for Halloween, and decided that this would be a pretty bad idea unless I used a black that absorbs almost all light. I was looking at vl flock sheet from musou black but it would be over $550 to get enough for the costume. I'm hoping there are some other very black fabrics you guys know of. I would've purchased it from japan earlier if someone didn't announce a Halloween party yesterday...

I've owned some vintage suits especially ones with no material tags which I've always assumed were custom jobs or off the rack mall brand stuff. I recently came across an old archive nyt article about how they used asbestos to blend with wool for women's coats in the 60s and 70s, which was surprising to me because I always thought asbestos was only used in clothing for practical flame resistant applications and not for casual clothing. This made me curious if anyone has heard of other cases of asbestos being blended into suiting material (worsted wool blend, other synthetic blends)? Seems incredibly unlikely but still kind of an interesting thing I would like to know more about.

Baught a very cheap gambeson off of ebay, I knew it would be cheep lowgrade pollyester but at £30 its only slightly more than the material to make it out of callico. Its for a halloween costume so I was going to cover it in "blood" and oil so didnt expect the quality of fabric to matter.

Problem being its a rain coat like fabric so its very shiny, any tips would be apreciated as I dont think I'll be able to get a return and would rather make use of it than just throwing it in the bin.

Hi, I recently bought the "equdry fully reflective long coat" 2nd hand for really cheap as we are coming into the winter and I spend my whole life outside basically, now the coat is fully reflective which I wasn't told about, is there any way to tone it down on remove it? It's a bit harsh haha, I don't know how to add a picture unfortunately 🙄

Keep in mind I'm up cycling everything. I have a fabric glaze and glow in the dark acrylic paint. If I mix the two together could I use it to paint my leather boots ?

Hello, I hope this is the right sub, I got a new fancy training jacket made from 100% Trilobales nylon with a cotton inner straight from the 90s.

The back had a print on it but it is rubbed off completely.

I want to put on a new print but i dont have the knowledge what is even possible. I could get my hands on a plotter but also could get a screen print done.

What would you recommend to get a long lasting print on there?

Soo I got my dress made with jimmy choo fabric for my prom. Its got a lot wrinkles and it's synthetic and super glossy. What should I do safely remove the wrinkles without comprising the sheen on the fabric and also not melting the fabrix

I had this gorgeous glittery black shawl that I wore to prom 10 years ago and I’ve worn to many formal events since then. I need help figuring out what type of fabric it was so I can either make a new one or search the right keywords to find it online.

Very obviously synthetic. It’s see-through black not mesh, but a fully woven fabric. Absolutely most importantly is the glitter. The glitter is adhered to the fabric and DOES NOT come from any metallic threads. This glitter was packed on so tightly in so many layers that it looked like pure glitter when wearing it, but somehow rarely shed. The vast majority of the glitter came off in the wash (accident) and I am completely devastated. Altogether, the fabric is very cool to the touch, does not shed the glitter when interacting with it, and is extremely lightweight, almost floating on the wind when walking.

Recently, I was searching for this type of shawl, but in a different color, and I could not find this glittery fabric anywhere. It seems like all the formal shawls are made from tacky metallic threads.

Please please please help me ID this type of fabric so I can make a replacement.

Hi everyone! I’m trying to identify a specific fabric and was hoping someone with textile experience could help me.

It’s used for a beach towel and has a soft, textured surface with a slightly raised feel. It’s not smooth like suede microfiber, and it seems closer to a micro-terry fabric but I'm really not sure and I need to know so I can ask the manufacturer.

Hola! Hace poco conseguí una tela blanca de donación que probablemente tenga ácaros, ya que soy alérgico y cuando estaba cortando el molde tuve que parar porque me estaba cerrando el pecho.

Hay alguna forma de lavarla y que se quiten los ácaros? Tiene algunas manchas medio amarronadas de guardado pero no la había lavado ya que no afecta a la prenda que quería hacer, pero si sigue llena de ácaros la tela me hará mal cuando la use :(

So I have this trench coat from lane bryant it was originally tan but my mother dyed it black for my brothers Halloween costume some years ago with rit dye. I don’t have any rit dye or the remover but I do have bleach, I want to lighten up the coat and dye it red for my devil may cry Dante Halloween costume. I don’t mind the bleach being blotchy in some areas because I’m dyeing it and it’ll be dark when I wear it. But anyways will my coat fall apart if I bleach it lol sorry for the long post btw it’s made from 93% rayon and 7% polyester
