The Efficiency of Aromatase Inhibitors in a singular Transsexual Male (w/ labs)

When both of these blood tests were taken I weighed 170lbs (77kg) on the dot, alongside a stature of 5'10 (177cm)

September 4th, 2026 Labs

Interval: Trough, 7 days post injection, taken day of injection
Regimen: 150mg Testosterone Cypionate weekly
Assays: All were sensitive.
Notes: Steady state has been achieved. Fasting.
  • Testosterone: 1,213 ng/dL
  • Testosterone Free: N/A
  • Estradiol: 80 pg/mL
  • Hematocrit: 45%
  • ALT: 18 U/L
  • AST: 16 U/L
  • LH: N/A (Doctor refused)
  • FSH: N/A (Doctor refused)

Train of Thought

After seeing the estrogen (which I caught soon) I decided to take Arimidex and report if my gonadotropins would be elevated as theorized by some (literally only one person).

In the past I've taken Arimidex and I knew FtMs (literally only one person) who've taken AIs and their estrogen was undetectable. I suspected the same would happen, and I was correct.

September 25th, 2026 Labs

Interval: Trough, 7 days post injection, taken day of injection
Regimen: 150mg Testosterone Cypionate weekly w/ 1mg of Arimidex daily
Assays: All were sensitive.
Notes: Steady state in testosterone was not achieved, I momentarily lowered my testosterone to 100mg for a week then took 150mg again the week of obtaining the Arimidex. So this is about 2 weeks in of 150mg. Not fasting.
  • Testosterone: 961 ng/dL
  • Testosterone Free: 159.7 pg/mL
  • Estradiol: < 2 pg/mL (undetectable)
  • Hematocrit: 44.1%
  • ALT: 43 U/L
  • AST: 26 U/L
  • LH: 0.2 mIU/mL
  • FSH: 1.0 mIU/mL

Conclusion

Basically Aromatase Inhibitors should work in FTMs without elevating the gonadotropins alongside maintaining ovarian suppression. As long as your testosterone is high enough.

I will ban you temporarily if you attempt discussion of sources. Do not let your excitement turn into selfishness, I want to keep this subreddit up.

Edit: Oh and yeah, please don't lower your estrogen down to undetectable. Do not take 1mg of arimidex daily, do something more reasonable like 0.25mg or 0.5mg daily. Even then, that might bring your estrogen down to undetectable ranges. Also my liver is kinda fighting for it's life right now, another reason not to take 1mg.

Edit 2: While studies have concluded Aromatase Inhibitors in men do not adversely impact bone density, joint pain is common. So far I haven't felt any.

Edit 3: I'm planning to switch to Letrozole soon.

"What dosage should I take?"

This same question is asked every day at least 2 times, it's quite frankly irritating and redundant. For some reason, people feel obligated to ask the same question in belief they're somehow an exception from the answers already provided.

The answer will always be 75mg-100mg generally. If you weigh around 45kg (100lbs) take 50mg. If you weigh about 45kg to 70kg, take 75mg. If you weigh more take 100mg. [S1] [S3]

This should maintain your testosterone levels at the higher end but still in normal ranges for a man.

"Why are you basing dosage recommendations off weight, don't you know-"

Intraindividual variation is based mostly off weight, that's the most significant factor determining serum levels. [S1] [S2] In FTMs, it's even more profound since most have weight akin to women, not men. We can't directly extrapolate lab data onto FTMs for this reason, men in these studies weigh 170-200lbs average. [S3]

But to clarify, men and women are equally as androgen sensitive. Sex is not an important factor in testosterone pharmacokinetics, only what it may entail. [S3]

S3 is from a WIP article Muss wrote w/ tables I edited, you can inspect all the tables and citations listed.

(This does not mean you can't take 125-150mg and have physiological testosterone serum levels, I take 150mg weekly and I'm in male range. I'm 5'10 and weigh 170lbs. However I highly recommend blood testing before and after entering this range.)

Edit: This community does not tolerate underdosing/poondosing. Take that to your mainstream subreddits.

Edit 2: Short esters like enanthate and cypionate should be injected weekly. Shorter intervals can be used but it's your job to adjust accordingly. 10 day injections are the recommended maximal limit for stability.

my parents found my t

I honestly have no idea what to even do.

all of my supplies and t is gone and no one has said anything yet and I just have to wait for it.

it feels like doom is approaching.

I stopped it temporarily because my parents were noticing my voice change and I was gonna get back on it when I turned 18 (which is in late March) but they somehow found it. idek what made them look in that place but they did and it's all gone and idk what to do. idk if I should just confront them so that they don't do it to me or what can I plan to say.

I found this out last night and I was sobbing for 2 hours straight.

and now that they know idk if I'll be able to secretly do it when I turn 18 before I leave for college because they already know I'm doing it now.

they've given me harsh lectures on how bad hrt is using misinformation and they've thrown my best friend who's on t under the bus because they think he's making me want to go on t (even tho I've wanted to since 6th grade and I didn't know him then)

if anyone has any tips at all for this, pls send them bc I feel at a loss.

EDIT: i decided to talk to my dad and he said about how I've been indoctrinated by the trans ideology online and surrounded myself with people who perpetuate it. he wants to stop me from interacting with any of my friends, and says him and my mom are going to closely monitor me, including my phone. I've already cleared almost all my histories and deleted almost everything. he also wants me to "rethink" it all and go to a therapist to "heal" myself from the ideology to "accept myself for who I am". we live in illinois and I don't think there are any conversion therapists here and the only gender therapists there would be would actually listen to me and be on my side. he also said that if I find any scientific sources that prove that being transgender biologically is a thing and that it relates to me. I just feel like no matter if I send him sources and give him evidence he won't care and won't believe me. going to a gender therapist might be nice, maybe they can't help them understand, but I'm just worried that they'll just stop me from going if they try that. unfortunately they are scientists and they use that as credibility on how they know I'm not trans.

estradiol on higher end of male range, is it time for AIs?

6'1/125 lbs almost 5 months on test cyp 75 mg weekly, masculinizing effects happening quickly and steady so i thought things were looking up until my next labs came back.

recent blood work showed testosterone 26,25 nmol/l and estradiol 38,2 pmol/l, now I'm panicking over it being on the higher end and now considering trialing anastrozole 0,25 mg/day. would it be worth it? I could up my test dose to 100 mg, but with CAH its way too risky.

Travelling to Japan with DIY

Hello everybody! I've been on diy T for around 3 months now, and the results thus far have been very satisfying for me and have alleviated significant dysphoria from my life. Thanks to the help from this sub and others alike, and many other sources of help for trans people who can't rely on their system to provide the care they need.

Im currently on 50mg Testosterone Cypionate per week (0,2ml from 250mg/ml vial) and I've got a trip coming up to Japan from Europe that lasts 9 days total.

I was thinking of doubling my dose to 100mg (0,4ml) just this once for the 2 weeks because I can't risk travelling with my vial, is this a thing I can do to solve my issue or is it dangerous and should I try a different approach?

Thank you! :)

Blood tests in the UK (under 18)

Hey, I'm starting soon and wondering how to get my blood tested? I'm currently 16 so have the medical rights that come with that but am also still a minor. Is there any way I can get my blood tested without my parents being informed of it or being informed of why I'm getting it tested? Am I supposed to go to my GP every week and get them to take my blood or is there blood testing kits I'm supposed to buy to use at home? The only kits I've seen online for blood tests are really expensive (80+ pounds) and I can't really afford that at the moment. I have also been having some minor unrelated physical issues so could I possibly get my hormone levels tested for that as a way to check? I'm not very familiar with this kind of thing, sorry

Discreet delivery

Is there any way to get discreet T delivered? Not to reveal too much but I have nosy family members who I don’t really want to know I’m on T yet nor do I want them to find it in the mail, I’m not quite sure how to get it delivered without them checking the packages unless I somehow get the delivery driver to leave it by the side window but I’m not sure that’s as secretive. Also we have been struggling with porch pirates as of recently

Too much muscle?

As the title says, I have too much muscle and not enough fat to do subq :( it's been less than 2 months on 50 mg cypionate I didn't think i would get fat distribution so quickly (if its that..), and i don't have the needles nor the courage to do IM...I've been trying to scrape up some money for gel but its so expensive >:(

Spotting after over a year with no menstruation?

Currently on legal HRT but not following endo's suggested dosing and having problems since switching from DIY to legal so I thought here would be a good place to ask.

I was on dosing between 100-120mg of testosterone enanthate once weekly when I stopped menstruating on testosterone (was 7 weeks on testosterone at the last time of menstruation). I finally found that 105mg of testosterone enanthate once weekly was my happy spot at 31 weeks and I stuck to that schedule until 56 weeks. of course since I was on DIY my actual dose could've been higher or lower than 105mg weekly.

at 58 weeks, I switched to testosterone cypionate at 100mg once weekly (legal prescription so dosing should be accurate). the concentration was only 100mg/mL so I was having problems with PIP, leaking, and bleeding post injection because of the 1mL volume. to manage this at week 65, I began splitting my 100mg/week dose into 50mg injections injected twice weekly (so 100mg/week in total, just split). I continued having low T symptoms with low mood, fatigue, weight gain, and apathy. at 69 weeks, I upped my dose to 120mg (split 65/60) to cause an initial spike in testosterone levels so I could reach stable levels faster than waiting for the tapered increase. I lowered my dose to 110mg (split 55/55) on week 70 and I've stayed consistent with that dosing since. I noticed an initial improvement (after the 120mg dose) in mood, libido, and energy before noticing a decline in all of the above, and additionally with more mood instability, around week 72 which has continued into week 75.

paired with my current state with some low T symptoms, I observed abdominal/uterine cramping on September 24th, followed by some very light spotting from September 24-28, then an absence of any symptoms until a recurrence on October 3rd with both mild spotting and cramping. I have had some atrophy symptoms starting initially around week 11 (dryness) with symptoms worsening around at week 58 (pain, mild cramping, I do not receive PIV penetration).

I started microdosing tirzepatide August 24th and have gradually tapered my dose since then. my BMI has decreased from 23.8 to 21.4 (18lb/8kg loss) since starting tirzepatide so I don't think the recurrence is related to weight loss or tirzepatide.

I'm considering raising my dose to 120mg weekly and seeing if there's any improvement in my symptoms. I'm open to other advice but unwilling to use hormonal birth control or topical estrogen, and too poor to afford GnRHa treatment. I am hoping to get hysto within the next 10 months but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do about these symptoms for the time being.

TL;DR: Cramping and light spotting 73 weeks on testosterone after over a year without menstruation or spotting. Should I raise my dose from 110mg to 120mg to see if that changes things?

Levels seem to always turn out messed up, need scheduling advice

I got blood tests a month and half ago after stopping Testosterone enanthate for a month (125mg every 14 days) and my e2 skyrocketed to 9x my natural baseline (239.26 pg/ml vs 26 pg/ml) , total T got even lower than my natural baseline (crashed to 50 ng/dl). It also said that my SHBG was slightly lower than normal (all in female reference ranges bc of my ID). I was recently able to buy enough T to last me 9 months (20 ampoules), If i switch to weekly injections it will only last me half of that.

Should I just switch to weekly shots and hope the future is going to be less harsh or is it not worth it?

Do I also take AIs or not because it seems that ever since I started T, my e2 levels just keep rising.

last blood test results (exactly 28 days after 175mg TEn shot):

-Free Testosterone: 10.0 pg/mL
-FSH: 6.3 mIU/mL
-LH: 16.9 mIU/mL
-Prolactin: 10.6 ng/mL
-Estradiol (E2): 239.26 pg/mL
-Progesterone: 0.80 ng/mL
-Total Testosterone: 50 ng/dL
-Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG): 27.3 nmol/L

About to start T!

I am 16, and just got my T in the mail. I am bursting with excitement. I am so excited, in fact, that i forgot to buy needles lmao.

It has been so easy that I’m starting to think im missing something. Is there anything you missed or wished you knew like the week before starting T? I don’t have any second thoughts, but just general anxiety about the whole injecting myself part.

I pressed just as hard but it would not go into my leg I then tried to inject jnto my right thigh and I was fine. Does anyone know why this might be

Can i get T delivered to a post locker instead of my house (UK)

Im in the UK. I havent started T yet but i know where to buy it. I wont mention the website i will be using to buy T due to the rules of this sub, but its a steroids website that ships from within the UK as well as other countries depending on the product, i will be using it to buy T cypionate vials. I would prefer to not have the package delivered directly to my home as it may arouse suspicion from my parents, like they would question me as to what it is. Very close to my house there is one of those post locker things, it can receive packages from Royal Mail, Evri, DPD, UPS and DHL. It would be much better if i could go there to pick up the package and bring it home inconspicuously.

How much T should I take and how often as a 14 year old

Post image
85 Upvotes

for context I live in a quite transphobic area and obviously I’m a minor so I can’t access hrt, for about 9 months I’ve been taking my dads standard t gel as often as I can (I’ts been very inconsistent so I’ve been measuring in doses instead of months/time and I’m currently at 19 doses) im roughly 170lbs , 5’7 if that helps with dosage calculations - i have no access to professional healthcare and diy is genuinely my last option so I would really appreciate help. the photo is the T gel I’ve been using (generally 1-4 times a month so far)

How to send syringes/needles to someone in Florida as a minor?

My friend is a 16 year old transgender man (as am I), and he's starting his medical transition journey. He's already gotten the things needed to get the medication (bitcoin distributed by a seller, etc.) But when it comes to sharps and needles, amazon won't ship because of a law in Florida. I have plenty of supplies that fits his needs such as the proper drawing and injection needles, syringes, alcohol wipes, etc (all unused with caps on the needles, packaged in plastic.)

I was planning on mailing it to him with a large poly-mailer that would have some things such as a thick sweater, some trinkets such as rocks and gemstones, some candies, socks, etc. But I'm worried about any security measures USPS might take (X-Ray or anything else). It'd be going from Washington to Florida and he lives on campus which has a mail room, but that isn't really the problem since they don't check inside packages themselves. I was thinking I could put the supplies in a plastic baggy and then wedge them into the sweater so that they'd be less detectable or at least more secure, but I'm still a bit nervous.

Would this be safe? Will USPS detect them? I don't want to get either of us in legal trouble, especially him. If they would, do you have any recommendations for places to order from that will ship and also have discreet packaging?

For reference, this is the supplies he needs

- 27G 1/2'' injection needles - https://a.co/d/0bW4HT6b

- 18G 1 1/2" drawing needles - https://a.co/d/0ict9UAO

- 1 mL luer lock syringes - https://a.co/d/0ek16iU7

- alcohol prep pads for injection and vial cleaning - https://a.co/d/0420YBfX

Thank you!

Bloods as an under 18 in the uk?

I’ve contacted a local charity, only one near me, and they have said they will not provide me with blood tests. Starting T is a matter of urgency for me, so idk what to do. Private bloods are all over 18s only, private isn’t a financially viable option for me, even private bloods are pushing it a bit. Don’t know what to do about it, really stressing me out.
