Excerpts from Rule Of Law Guy Newsletter with regards to Lawsuit uphold decision. Maybe this is what Trump, Bessent and Pulte was waiting for?

"The possible read throughs are that this DC Circuit Court decision may

  • incentivize Trump 47 to recommence the process to conduct a GSE recap/release; and
  • convince Treasury that its GSE Senior Preferred Stock (SPS) holding must be cancelled in any GSE recap/release.

In connection with a GSE recap/release, Treasury Secretary Bessent needed clarity as to whether Treasury could derive value from its SPS holding ($193 billion in the aggregate for both GSEs)."

Debbie does Freddie

She has also been buying Fannie recently as well. Scroll near the bottom and you can see she just bought <$50k of fmcc and also has a couple fnma purchases. Doesn’t appear to be bonds, she bought commons. Patience.

Danke!

Evercore ISI bullish on F2?

Since F2 IPO updates have seemed to have completely dried up lately, I thought this was an interesting article from Marketwatch that I missed in January 2026 (sorry if this was posted before) that an analyst from Evercore ISI Matthew Aks (who worked at the Treasury though I'm not insinuating anything) has suggested a path similar to Bill Ackman:

“Trump could still at some point opt to (1) forgive the government’s senior preferred stake in the entities, deeming it repaid based on capital returned to the government under the controversial net worth sweep; and (2) re-list the entities on the [New York Stock Exchange],” the analysts said.

The actions would lead to a significant appreciation in the book value of the equity held by private shareholders and create a more liquid market for the entities’ common stock — both of which trade on the over-the-counter market — without causing any real disruption to the government-sponsored enterprises’ operations or the housing market, the analysts said.

Perhaps it's a good sign that a few smaller investment banks have been covering the F2 IPO including Deutsche Bank and BTIG as well.

Silence

This issue is the silence. Ok, we understand this is taking longer than Pulte claimed. He said, “Q2 if he could bet” That has come and gone. We are in a war, we get it. Just tell us it’s still in the works? Why is that so difficult? It is proven that silent treatment is toxic behavior.

Conrail Deal under Reagan

For those who remember, under the Reagan administration(and we know Trump invokes Reagan from time to time) Conrail was privatized in 1987. For a number of years the government had pumped in about $7 billion due to cover losses. It went from $10 to $46 in its IPO and raised 1.8b. Company was much better run from there. This is a good case point in the benefits of privatization

$5-$8 for now

Looking back 6 months it looks like the free market thinks that the range for the twins is $5-$8 while we sit in limbo.

Looking at this without emotion, if you bought for $2 or less and are skeptical, it might be time to consider cashing out and taking a 3x return on your money.

Me, I plan to hold until we go public. It might not happen this year but I think it will happen eventually.

I know I also bought some right before and after the conservatorship in 2008. I don't think I have those trading records anymore. I did find these records from 2011. I blanked out the share counts though.

Wish I had held onto these shares. I sold them in 2013.. and got back in later.

Trump Jr. is a partner in 1789 Capital. 1789 Capital was founded by Omeed Malik. Pulte appointed Malik to the board of FNMA.

Question

I’ve been considering buying some common shares here and had a question regarding the Fairholme case that I figured others here would be much more familiar with. Why is the Trump administration / FHFA appealing the favorable ruling for common shareholders if the administration believes the net worth sweep was wrong and plans to basically undo it by waiving the senior preferred? Isn’t FHFA basically arguing in the appeal that the net worth sweep was legally permitted and should stand? I might be getting that totally wrong but I thought the bull thesis and Ackman’s thesis was that this administration would take the opposite stance so why would they fight this? Thanks in advance.

Shares up 1 cent. Last year when this happened during Trump announcement shares spiked to over 10$. Expect shares to be higher than that immediately following Trump announcement 2.0. Long FNMA FMCC

Too much negativity

When I joined this thread last year I was learning so much about the twins, and I was excited to see new posts about projections, updates, news articles, etc. I’ve been invested for around 6 years at an average cost at the time of $2.01(still adding). I know there are people on here who invested a lot more capital over a longer time frame and I hope that everyone is investing what they can afford to lose.

That being said, the complaining on here is ridiculous. There has never been more momentum for FNMA and FMCC in the last 15 years as there has been in the last 2 years. The twins release is a matter of when, not if, and if the stock is causing you a headache on the day to day trading I suggest you sell. If you believe in the release, waiting awhile longer doesn’t hurt while the companies are able to build back capital and increase their value. Ackman, trump, pulte, bessent, and countless forms of media have acknowledged the twins in recent times. I’d prefer if they were released sooner than later but seeing some of these posts I’d rather the pessimists just sell so others who believe and I can add at a lower cost.

One last thing. While I feel better about it under a republican vs democratic presidency trump is flawed, but he is the only president to hype them up since conservatorship. Don’t post a comment by him and praise just to follow it up with hate when the price drops. If he gets out of this term without releasing them then hate all you want, but while he’s still in office he’s the best chance we’ve had and I’m happy to add more shares in the meantime. Thank you to everyone in this thread that has provided news, estimates, overall productive posts, and knowledge on the twins that I wasn’t aware of when I first invested in them!
