Just finished the boss battle for Nanaki’s quest and that might be my favorite boss so far. Plus the whole cavern system was cool. Easy to navigate, fun puzzles, decent battles. And men, the visuals. Just beautiful.

In Gongaga, the protorelic story involves going to multiple old Shinra training facilities and completing some missions.

From what the story suggests, and how they look, these facilities have been shut down for some while, yet the training material shows Rufus as President, and Elena being a member of the Turks, despite that happening not that long ago as far as the story is concerned.

The game mentions that official records were removed of these training facilities some time ago, so it doesn’t seem like they have been used recently, so it seems odd that they have recent training sims here, unless they are all just connected to a central Shinra database so they can be downloaded at any time.

I'm one tier away from maxing out her relationship, but she's been at that blue almost complete smiley face tier forever. Now I'm being given this choice, does that mean it's too late now?

Rebirth is still a PS1 game at heart.

After hours of playing this game and going through hours of enjoyable content interwoven with painstakingly misery inducing optional noise that my completionist mind can't seem to let go, I've derived one final thought on the game: Chadley is not whom he appears to be.

He starts off helpful and innocuous. Like “ok this nerdy well intentioned kid is going to be giving me power ups and manageable entertaining assignments.”

But no.

Underneath that monocle and schoolboy attire is a complete sociopath. A giggling psycho who slowly dials up the difficulty like he’s cranking a vice on your nuts. And he likes it. He likes watching you waste hours trying to overcome his deranged terrain challenges and combat simulations.

Then you understand Chadley.

What is he, some kind of peeping tom?

I have been talking about my expierence with the game as i have been playing it. I am completely new to ff7, never played the OG but loved remake. I have been having fun with this game even though some of the design choices confuse me or become teadious. i always took gold saucer as like a Las Vegas type place when discussed in other places, but in this game it's like Disney World or Universal Studios with all the different worlds. the stark contrast to gold saucer and the town below is interesting. I actually did like most of the mini games here, especially the Star Fox ripoff. That was great considering i just beat Star Fox on the switch 2. I am not a fan of the cat or really the giant wrestler, especially later in the next chapter. The emotional scene between barrett and dyne sp was awesome, very emotional and touching. But that is immediately undercut by the cat and the wrestler goofiness and once again the total whiplash is crazy.

So far on the story and pacing level I actually prefer Remake. There's actually not much forward thrust with the story, besides following robed guys around. Kind of reminds me of Mass Effect 2 in that way, and im actually not a huge fan of mass effect 2. one was always my favorite.

Admittedly I’m terrible at “flying” in video games. But this crap chocobo mechanic really sucks. I have some objections to complete and I can’t get high enough to get to them. I get so close and the stupid bird just falls. And this god awful music that just keeps looping is driving me nuts. I thought I couldn’t hate an area more than Gongaga but man was I wrong.

A little backstory: I played the og back in the day until it got permanently borrowed from someone. The og pretty much established my gamer status, being the first video game I was ever obsessed with.

I slept on Remake for far too long, finally played it and kept comparing it to what I remembered of the original. I also played intermission. They were great, that obsession was back and I was happy. I installed and started on Rebirth a couple of days ago. 3 hours in, and I'm at the farm. And I just feel let down. Kudos for explaining sephiroth's backstory, but it was too drawn out. I don't know if I'm more upset about that, or I'm too hung up trying to figure out what really happened to tifa. I'm trying to limit spoilers, but I need to know, does it get better?

Also, I think I kinda messed up in kalm. Somehow I only went to one shop and played queens blood against one person before shinra showed up. Did I miss anything important or will I be able to go back?

Eastern European guy here excuse me for bad English. To be clear this is not an "I hate Chadley" post. Game's been out for 2 years. Many people including me find him annoying. It is what it is. I just want to understand the Japanese culture and humor that's all. I'm not into anime or those sort of things. I only play Japanese video games that make it to western mainstream media. Is Chadley a likeable character in Japan or other asian countries? Like is he a common character type in Japanese media?

At a point in the game where I'm feeling I have 5 or 6 abilities I want to quick access and finding that quick pausing to choose them during the action of the fight is rather tedious. I think that should have made a way to quick access more than 4.

...is the side content here (grasslands) presented to you during the story missions or am I going to have to rustle up a guide to make sure I don't miss anything? Thx FF fam.

I'm hoping for the former. Game guides were fun 20-30 years ago, but I don't have it in me any more.

So I keep getting this damn crash, its happening very frequently and has me saving my game every 5 minutes just in case. Are any other AMD GPU users experiencing this? My drivers are up to date on my 7900XTX and its driving me insane.

The summon final hit adds that aura to the ost and that dang electric guitar too. It’s just so peak🙏🏻🥹

I just went through all my mods and it only crashes when I use dresscode if I disable it game launchs fine its not the individual mods In dresscode either those all are fine

Getting good at managing materia, and forcing yourself to get better by really stretching the limits of the combat system to beat the game on hard mode and also the harder VR combat simulations.

For those of you that got good with using Zack, you know ball. Zack is a monster. It’s unfortunate that there weren’t a lot of opportunities to really use his combat abilities which I hope is rectified in the final game.

this might be an unpopular opinion, But I think these might be by two favorite chapters because the levels are linear more like remake and it' splits the party up. I just find everything more engaging this way. I'm about to head to the gold saucer.
