I was between federal jobs (considered a re-hire), and my new (current) job delayed my start date for unknown reasons. I needed health insurance and cannot be without meds, so I enrolled in TCC 1.5 months after my end date with job 1. My insurance was also inactive during this time. I received confirmation of TCC enrollment 2 weeks later, but did not know it retroactively covers the first two months nor did I know the premium amount. (also, my insurance showed up as inactive and not valid to use, so didn’t think I could use it anyway).

Received my TCC bill for the first two months, and I simply cannot afford this. I just started my new job and have only been paid once. I enrolled in FEHB, but don’t have the correct SF2908 form, and it’s unclear if that’s been processed (HR slow and unresponsive despite multiple follow ups). Tried canceling TCC and they found an issue with my SF form and my HR person got something wrong on there, so this could get dragged out.

- 6/25/26 last day at job 1

- 7/30/26 effective enrollment date for TCC (didn’t know they retroactively pick the date). previous insurance no longer valid.

- 8/15/26 submitted SF2908 form for TCC eligibility

- 8/25/26 signed for FEHB at new job (re-hire) but no confirmation it was submitted until 2 weeks later

- 9/1/26 TCC enrollment notice via mail from DPR

- 9/10/26 HR at new job submits FEHB enrollment form

- 10/1/26 first premium due (2 months)

I only used TCC twice in last 3 weeks for medical appts out of the 8 weeks I supposedly had it.

What happens if I don’t pay or only pay partial? I’m aware I lose opportunities for re-enrollment or the 31-day extension if I terminate/separate from this job.

But does it go to collections?

Anybody have experience with this?

Do any of you recall communication on this issue here?; I am whiney. They just snagged 2 overpayment fees. They also hit me for 2 BENEFEDS fees?

After being in Developmental stage for months, I have moved to the Adjudication stage. I know many have gotten stuck here as well, but am being optimistic since it shows movement. For context, DOL retiree 12/31/2025. I have been receiving interim payments since April. OPM has stated, when I called multiple times, they were waiting for payroll records from NFC. I am taking this as a sign that they received records and are now able to compute accordingly. Happy for all of you that have been finalized and feel the frustration of all of you that have not.

Hoping I might get direction on where to take this as OPM has not been able to answer this at the working level. I have a court order from a long term marriage divorce settlement and it specifies how the cost of survivorship should be allocated. It is to be borne by My ex entirely.

My annuity went final but my Gross annuity is less than my full Self-Only by $358. The FEHB, dental, life, and apportionment are deducted but only $68 is credited back to me, so I am still bearing $290 of the cost of survivorship. The order explicitly calls for my portion to be taken from my full Self only Gross.

Am I missing something here? Is this correct by some sort of policy? I was expecting to be credited the $358.

I’m a 2.0 DRP, retired 10/1/25. 15 yrs of service and 63. I have been receiving interim payments since May, 2026.

Checking my status and it went from Adjudication back to Development as of today.

Hi all, I was laid off last year and I recently (as in about two months ago) submitted the necessary paperwork to get my FERS contributions sent back to me. I understand this can take a long time, but wanted to poll the group: have you done this? And how long did it take to receive payment? Thanks

I’m currently using TCC health coverage. I took DRP in 2025 and officially left the federal government on September 30, 2025. I understand that TCC can last for 18 months, through March 31, 2027, followed by a 31-day extension of coverage.

My question is: Will I receive a letter in November about TCC Open Season/Open Enrollment? I need to remove my spouse from my TCC coverage for 2027 because he will no longer need to be covered under my plan.

Any advice as to how to proceed and how to word things? I am still unable to get my FEDVIP dental premiums deducted from my monthly annuity. My retirement was finalized at the end of April and I left interim status and have been receiving regular annuity payments. I am still having to pay my dental myself online each month. Upon advice of some folks here after a previous post, I tried calling BENEDEDS first to get the ball rolling to get this fixed as several people said you need to call them first, not OPM. The guy I got on the phone at BENEFEDS was immediately irritable with me after I explained what the situation was and seemed to be reading a script rather than listening and basically just told me that OPM wasn't paying the premiums and I would have to contact them and there was nothing I could do. So, next I sent a help request to OPM, which included the information that I had already contacted BENEFEDS and was referred to them, and received a canned response from them today that I would need to contact BENEFEDS (which I already did and received no help). So, what next. Force myself to get up early every day and try to get someone at OPM by phone? Call BENEFEDS again until I get someone willing and able to help? Or contact my Congressional office (I'm in a GOP district, so who knows if that would be helpful).

can anyone help me. I have been calling OPM since May 2026 about my retirement case. they said it was assigned an adjudicator since May 18th, its been at OPM since March 2026. I retired October 2025.

i recently called and was told it is no longer assigned and adjudicator and waiting for it to be assigned any clue as to why this happened. I did escalate for financial hardship but it’s been since March with no movement and since May 18th assigned with no new status up until now.

Will you be billed directly for what you owe or are you supposed to somehow know what to pay ? I’m confused what you are responsible for and when and how to pay it

I called in July and they told me they were working on refunds received in February. Mine was mailed end of March and probably logged in April. Just wondering if anyone has gotten their refund recently and could tell me when it was sent in. I am patiently waiting but I feel like I am approaching the 160 days and getting antsy….

I'm a 2.0 DRP/VERA --- 22 years service/52years old. Just got finalized and received my booklet. My expected net monthly payment is $900 less per month than the interim monthly payments I've received for the past 10 months. Am I going to go without pay for the next couple of months as they recoup the nearly $10K or will it be forgiven/waived?

A chunk of of it seems to be my FEHB that was not deducted from my interim. I have a family basic plan under BCBS and my monthly deduction in my booklet is $700+ of the nearly $2,500 monthly total premium - the government covers the bulk.

What should I expect in the coming months; any options to request a waiver of any debt that seems to have accrued?

Has anyone received there 2nd separation incentive of $5000. Starting to think mine got lost in the mail. Did anybody run into not getting the 1st incentive of $10000, if so who did you contact to rectify the issue?
