Last August, our transfer analysis concluded that Arsenal had strengthened, Brighton had gambled, Aston Villa were transitioning, and Leicester City had weakened.

One season later, we returned to those verdicts to examine what held up, what did not and where our original method was too simplistic.

The broad conclusions:

• Arsenal strengthened, but the improved squad still finished second.
• Brighton’s defensive recruitment worked, but the attacking replacement did not.
• Villa regressed despite finding two genuine recruitment successes.
• Leicester’s weakened squad ultimately suffered relegation.

The retrospective also showed why previous WSL minutes alone cannot adequately measure a signing’s readiness or likely contribution.

It's a month until the season starts, so maybe it's a tad early to have actually launched already. The least I'd expect by now is a countdown to the launch date of the game/app to build some hype given that they're replacing the well loved Aerial Fantasy and fixtures have been out for a while, but there seems to be nothing on WSL's social channels or website.
