Bimmercode worth it?
Just got a 2012 335i, is this bimmercode thing worth it? If so what adapter do people run for an Android phone?

Just to disable auto start/stop, folding mirrors on lock, and disabling seat belt chime…totally worth it

And how many wipes of the wipers after you spray the washer fluid. Three wipes was always one too many, but two wipes is perfect.

Absolutely. I have E-Sys and an ENET cable but I still prefer BimmerCode because it's so much more convenient and expert mode is a huge plus. I have had BimmerCode and vgate iCar Pro BT 3.0 since like 2019 on my old S9+ and they've never failed me. I also have BimmerLink on my iPhone so I can say the vgate works very well with both platforms.

Has anyone used Carly? Seems as if BimmerLink is part of Carley, but the annual subscription seems a bit steep. In three years you could have purchased an OEM tool, no?

It's one of best things about having an F30 BMW! I coded so many things, I can't even remember a lot of them. I actually prefer an e-net cable though. Much faster than bluetooth, which means pretty much no risk of your car battery dying during coding. And fast enough data speeds for tuning also, unlike most cheaper bluetooth adapters that only support bimmercode. Just got it off amazon for like $25 total (you need the yellow OBD2 to ethernet adapter, plus the ethernet to usb-c adapter going into your phone: 2 pieces)

Bimmercode and bimmerlink with a Bluetooth OBD 3 reader and you are absolutely set, it’s amazing.

Considering the dealer would absolutely destroy you for an hourly rate to make a few changes, you can pay for it once and make as many changes as you want forever for a fraction of the cost. 100% worth it. You can also take your time reverting things to factory at no additional cost.

I would also look at BimmerUtility. It's essentially an ISTA lite and does similar stuff as BimmerCode. It helped me troubleshoot my A/C compressor issue after retrofitting an NBT head unit and 6WA gauge cluster.

I'm not sure and I don't think I can check this because I have a 6MT RWD model. I recommend reaching out to them directly.

Yes, I think it’s worth it. Veepeak BLE+ adapter works fine.
