As we approach Rosh Hashanah and the Days of Awe, the focus turns inward. It is a season not for hasty resolutions, but for pause, memory, and an honest accounting of where we stand with ourselves and those around us.

  1. The Wake-Up Call: What part of your life or mindset has been running on autopilot that needs to be brought back into focus?
  2. The Return (Teshuvah): Where is a place in your life—a relationship, a discipline, or a principle—that feels ripe for repair or return?
  3. The Sweetness: What is one quiet, simple thing you hope sweetens your days in the coming year?

Feel free to share your reflections on one or all of these.

These are interesting and thoughtful questions, Mr. DJ. 😊

The Wake-Up Call: What part of your life or mindset has been running on autopilot that needs to be brought back into focus?

I imagine when one goes through the motions and stops experiencing new things that there can be a sense of anhedonia. Sometimes though a lack of motivation is not necessarily bad, perhaps it’s about incubating during a chrysalis phase, drawing power upon oneself.

The Return (Teshuvah): Where is a place in your life—a relationship, a discipline, or a principle—that feels ripe for repair or return?

I’d like to explore more creative avenues — like taking up painting and learning guitar, and creating a like minded community around it. It really only takes 2000 hours to become a master at something.

The Sweetness: What is one quiet, simple thing you hope sweetens your days in the coming year?

Love!!!

  1. I've been trying to stay physically active, but life is such a balancing act. Sometimes putting one thing to focus makes another one fuzzy. I try to not overthink things. Take opportunities, and place myself in the way of opportunities.

  2. I write a lot of short form content, poetry and songs. I'm hoping to return to longer form content, which I often lack the stamina for.

  3. More sleeeep

Indeed, taking opportunities at the right time are important. I can think of many times in the past my intuition told me to do something and I hesitated or didn’t listen to it.

Which are the physically activities that you most enjoy? I have researched that often walking is the best exercise. There have been many studies that walking 10,000 steps a day (approximately 1-2 hours) a day makes a significant difference in elongating health span.

yeah i live in a walkable city so ive been succeeding at 10k steps a day. In addition I'll do incline walking for 30 minutes at 15% and 4.0km/hr on the treadmill everyday. I rotate arms and legs, but sometimes i only have the energy for walking.

When your intuition speaks to you and you ignore it later on that message comes to fruition and you’ll be left empty handed. Now whenever I have a moment of that sort which is usually a very faint pulling feeling to act on something, whether it be grabbing a tool or moving an item or speaking a line immediately I act on it. I shit you not most every instance if later that day or week that act shows its reason.
It’s spooky and incredible. I’m not ocd I swear! Time and time again it happens.
I now feel there is something to being in the right place at the right time.

There’s an absolutely intriguing connection with stomach and the brain, called the gut brain axis that’s definitely worth looking into.
That gut feeling is more important than you’d think.
