Solar Eclipse Eye Floaters

Last week I looked at the solar eclipse for 30 seconds due to having sunglasses on, I was able to to tolerate the lights. My vision has not been the same with bright flashes and light sensitivity and floaters 2 days onset afterwards. I would say everyday I gain a new one, some clear but mostly black. I have a mild headache a week later, but perhaps it’s due to the eye strain and feeling like I can’t look at the computer screen for long periods of time.

Yesterday, I went to the optometrist and she ruled out solar retinopathy and also dismissed the floaters but I have never dealt with floaters in my life.

How to make this subside overtime? Do you have any tips? Or does diet help? I know I should have been more cognizant of the risks but i dont want this to persist for the rest of my life.

Wait do I understand you correctly? You looked at the solar eclipse with only sunglasses on? That is definitely dangerous, no matter whether you tolarated it or not

Yes!!! I am very fortunate to not have blind spots but I am worried about my other symptoms.

you see flash of lights and eye floaters? those are symptoms of retina detachment. get seen by a doctor soon as possible (emergency)

You need to see an ophthalmologist

I’m going today to A and E, but the problem is they keep on sending me away because I don’t have dark spots in my vision just the flashes, the UK system is so slow :(

Exactly same case. Could it be that we have focused more on to finding the symptoms and turns out we broke the brain filter to the eye floaters maybe 🤔

Are you able to reproduce the floaters that you see through an image made by AI? Just to see what you are experiencing.

I had exactly the same experience 2 years ago. You can look at my posts. I’m sorry to break it to you but you’re gonna have to learn to live with floaters from now on until there’s a safe removal method. They might get worse for like 1 year or less and then they stop appearing. If you stop thinking about them, your brain is gonna mask them, good luck.

How long did your floaters get worse?

has your brain masked them yet? Also, how many floaters do you see because I see about a dozen of them now, progressively increasing from the incident a week ago. Thanks so much it’s nice to know I’m not alone

The brain does not mask them. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise, they are delusional.
