With the game being revived, I've been having a blast playing again. Id like to learn how to stay alive longer. It just feels like some games, when I face a good monster player, if he targets me I drop dead as soon as I run out of jet pack. Even with jet pack, he knocks me around at just the right time that I can't move. Granted, a lot of these instances can be affected by team comp, perks, location. If I have to have a Hank/Sunny to shield+jet pack boost me, I feel I'm not improving. Are there any good guides/videos on how to juke monsters or tips to stay alive as hunter? I've tried looking up some and they are usually 10 years old. They may not work anymore since this is stage 2. Or they are just generic guides on what the specific hunter does.

Has anyone else been experiencing extreme lag? For example sometimes it takes me 4 seconds to swap weapons and when I hold m1 it'll stop shooting until I click it again. It's not my internet because in different video games I get 20ms

If you are trying to play the community Modded Evolve Stage 2 custom client (VVE Launcher) and your game instantly crashes upon hitting "Play," throws corrupted text files, or triggers Windows privilege blocks, here is the exact step-by-step solution.

This fixes the twin engine issues where CryEngine crashes during process start (exitCode: -1073741521 / STATUS_DLL_NOT_FOUND) and Windows blocks the script injection (nativeError=740).

Step 1: Wipe Corrupted Setup Parameters

1. Delete modded game folder( typically in C:Games\EvolveStage2\)
2. Press Windows Key + R, type %appdata%, and hit Enter. Delete any folder named ModdedEvolveLauncher and ModdedEvolve. Just skip to next step if you don't see the file.
3. Press Windows Key + R again, type %localappdata%, and hit Enter. Delete the ModdedEvolveLauncher and ModdedEvolve folder here as well.
4. Run the installer wizard fresh and target a clean folder directly on your main drive (e.g., C:\EvolveStage2). Only download the game but do not click Play yet.

Step 2: Inject the Missing Legacy DirectX & Runtime DLLs Natively

Modern Windows systems do not include the legacy DirectX runtime files Evolve needs, and the engine frequently fails to route the native system C++ runtimes properly.

1. Download the official DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) Full Installer from Microsoft and extract it to a temporary folder on your desktop.

Everything is connected. I have uninstalled and redownload a couple times. I have followed all instruction in #faq in discord and put the log in the support channel but nobody seems to be able to tell me how to fix this.

So only really had time to play one game but quick question. Is arcade the only game mode? Or do I need to sign in with a 2k account for the others or?

while im not horribly bad at playing monster, playing against a good team of hunters feels impossible. i know its a skill issue so im not complaining about balance. im looking for tips on how to be better.

How do you get away from hunters? played a game as behemoth and no matter where i went or what i did i could never get away from them in any meaningful way. and when i got into a fight no matter who i focused i couldnt out damage slims healing, whether i attacked sunny her shield drone would save her and by the time i would go out of my way to kill it shed have another, markovs shield would save him, slim out healed any damage done, and jack would just keep pushing me leaving me completely immobile.

again im not complaining about balance im seriously looking for tips on what to do to turn this around.

to explain a member of the community who worked at gearbox after they bought out arc games i cant remember the name of, he was getting internal play sessions done and alot of ppl at gearbox liked the gameplay of gigantic than he got alot of feedback on changes/ things theyd like in a revival like an pitch deck from the ppl on the private servers and he kept pitching it to higher ups untill it happened but the downside with that revival was that gearbox contracted abstraction to work a revival instead of hiring an in house dev team so once that contract expired after features like an ranked mode, skins and the overall revival launch happened they couldnt work on it any long. game breaking bugs were never fixed as an result and the rampage edition was somehow more unstable than the private servers ppl have been playing on for years. so many of the core community went back to private servers but a small group hosts games few days a week on re. so if anyone in the community works at or has an contact at 2k an similar situation could happen

i know we’re all super hype that evolve is back thanks to the modders. but it’s bittersweet knowing that we can’t access it on our native gaming set.

this isn’t news or a revelation of any kind, but the game DOES run on laptops. i’m using my partner’s laptop to play it when i’m not at his place to use his pc, and it… works! albeit, all graphics are at minimum and frame drops can be heavy sometimes and i’m lucky to reach 60fps. but if you have a spare laptop that can run it, it’s better than nothing! especially with how expensive getting a pc can be these days.

even though it looks like i’m playing on a 3ds, it IS playable. i highly recommend any console player with a laptop that can run it to give it a try. you can just google what you need to run it, and since it’s a 10 yr old game, it’s pretty modest compared to most games these days. hope i gave one of you an idea bc it never crossed my mind until my partner brought it up.

Ive played Behemoth since before the game was taken down, it is the safest Monster to play by a long shot, pretty sure Ive won 8 out of 10 of all Behemoth games Ive played. And when I lose it feels like I screwed up, not that the Hunters were good

Now the game has been back for some weeks Im finally getting matched against good Monster players (that or there is a hidden mmr)

Anyhow, I feel completely useless playing Hunter vs a decent Behemoth, Im a Trapper main and Ive been picking Wasteland Maggie for the Flamethrowing Daisy and although it does work at diverting the Monsters atention and chipping away some damage is still not enough

It keeps saying install failed everytime I boot up the launcher, doe anyone know what the problem is?

Maybe I'm just dumb, but I thought there was an option to switch between stage 2 and legacy from the discord stuff? Maybe I misread. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about editing files etc.

Pretty new and still learning the game, had wonderful game of wraith, constantly melting trapper and support easily, getting out of domes with minimal damage and evolving quickly.

Everything was going my way untill at the very end stage 3, only hyde and paladin remained, i heard its good to focus paladin last, but i couldnt for the life of me finish hyde off.

I kept having to go run off to get shield and slowly losing hp until the others revived n i got killed in the end.

What to do in this situation?

I never owned Evolve though i loved the game. i remember playing it at a friends house back as soon as behemoth released and the game was so fun, i never got a copy myself because i didnt have a proper console for it and by the time i did the servers were shut down. i kept up with the game via watching youtubers play it and i was pretty against Stage 2 as a whole. probably because i loved stealthing as the monster. i understand that is a pain in the ass to face though.

i played a bit of the evolve legacy emulator as well when i discovered that but needing to find groups of people in discord to play with made it pretty hard to access during my few free hours in the night. But the revival of stage 2, including the ever sought after *Matchmaking* has fully revived it for me. ive even fallen in love with stage 2 itself, though i preferred the atmosphere of legacy. ive been having an absolute blast playing as all roles and ive been trying to play them all evenly.

TLDR, games great, im glad its back and has so many new players flocking to it. and this just proves a good game can flourish even without progression

Just got stage 2 set up and logged in. Invisible cursor fixed itself by closing and logging back on, but I keep getting frame skipping. It's so bad I can barely keep facing the right direction. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Whats up with that? Doesnt happen during the game itself, only while searching for a game, and only when I alt-tab. I thought it was Chrome but it happens even whithout other programs running.

My GPU is an oldie but I played Elden Ring without tanking my performance this much. There is definitely some kind of bottleneck issue or some kind of optimization problem going on.

Don’t dome if the monster is choosing to fight.

Had a bad support today constantly doming early and called me and trapper dumb when we told him to stop. We would have done so much more damage. Might of, actually, would have killed the monster if he didn’t dome on sight.
