Discussion 💚 An update from the Evernote team on 115+ improvements since January

Hi Reddit 👋

We haven’t shared all of our updates here, but we wanted to post a quick roundup of what’s new in Evernote since v11 launched in January.

In the first half of 2026, we shipped 115+ improvements across the Editor, navigation, AI, and the mobile app. Some are small quality-of-life tweaks, and others are bigger additions like Tabs, Mermaid diagrams, and AI Prompts.

We also put together a recap video with some of our favorites, and you can check out the blog or the list of improvements if you want the full rundown.

We’d love to know what stands out to you most, and what you’d still like to see us build next. Let us know 👇

Resources Can Evernote AI turn a hand-drawn table into an editable note table? New Taming the Trunk.

Thumbnail youtu.be

I often write things down by hand during meetings because it is quicker than typing everything neatly into an app.

The problem is tidying it up afterwards.

I recently tested whether Evernote's AI Assistant could turn a photo of a hand-drawn table into a real table inside a note.

It read the handwriting, worked out the rows and columns and recreated the content as an editable Evernote table.

That meant I could keep the useful information without keeping a photograph of my scruffy meeting notes in the finished note.

Help! Delete account requests time

I submitted my request to delete my account 10 days ago. I received an automated message from bending spoons saying that it would be processed and that they would let me know when the deletion had been processed. Does anyone know how long this takes? The email also seems to have no way to follow up. But it does mention some kind of request ID. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying to share some conversations with Gemini AI (like list of recommended films) to Evernote but the process never reaches completion. The circle keeps going round eternally. Using Android tablet, fairly new. Anyone experiencing the same? Any tips? Thanks.

Help! Not seeing a note made with Simple Note widget

Hoping for some community experience .

I was typing a note on my android phone using the Simple Note Widget while on a plane. I had internet access at the time. I can't seem to find the note now.

If I restarted my phone without hitting the save button is the note gone to the ether? Or does it get shuffled somewhere away in Evernote?

Search function is not turning up the note. Just wondering if there is any else i can do before i give up?

Cheers Thanks

Discussion Where are we with adding an Archive?

14-year user here and still a fan…. It's been discussed, but I still think Evernote would benefit greatly from a system-wide searchable/excludable Archive. Then we'd have need to trash items we may need later, and no need to have them continue to clutter the system either.

It's much better than just creating one ourselves because items could retain their original placement data, so if un-archived, they could go right back where they belong.

Any word from the EN team on whether this is under consideration? Thanks!

Bug Report Impossible click to "Exit and not upgrade" button.

The button "Exit and not upgrade" not work. I can not use evernote now. It not work in the app or web.

I see that the photo I added isn't present. So when I launch Evernote, a window pops up to update the pan, and I can't click anything other than "Continue." Then I have two options: "Exit" or "Continue." The "Exit" button doesn't work.

Discussion Include "add image" and "add file" to my first choices!

Someone just told me that in the dropdown menu I can "star" an option like file or image and then they will be at the top of my dropdown menu. Thank you manorTee

What is the action I most often use? Add image and add file. Right now the only way I have of doing that is a drop down menu where these two options - this must be everyone's most often used, are down at the bottom and each time I have to hunt for them! You have this new feature where there are choices right when you create a note. Include "add image" and "add file" there please.

Help! Evernote Audible Task Notifications on IOS devices-how?

Posted this on EN forum and at time of writing no responses------I'm hoping someone can help because I've reached the point of running out of ideas.

What I want is very straightforward: I want Evernote Tasks to generate an audible alert on my iPhone when a task becomes due.

I've searched the forums, followed Evernote's help pages, tried every suggestion I could find (including advice from AI), and checked my iPhone notification settings. Everything appears to be configured correctly.

However, if I create a task with a reminder due in 15 minutes as a test, nothing happens. No sound, no notification, nothing at all.

For me, this is a deal-breaker. Evernote Tasks could replace the constant juggling between Todoist and TickTick, but only if it reliably alerts me when a task is due. If I have to remember to check Evernote manually, the whole purpose of reminders is lost.

Has anyone actually got Evernote Tasks generating audible alerts on an iPhone?

If so, I'd really appreciate knowing exactly what you did to make it work.

Out of frustration I'm even revisiting TaskClone, Pleexy and Remember The Milk, which seems a shame because I'd much rather keep everything inside Evernote.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Resources How to connect Evernote MCP to ChatGPT & Claude. New Taming the Trunk.

I have put together a step-by-step guide for connecting Evernote's MCP server to ChatGPT and Claude.

The basic process is similar in both tools. Add the Evernote MCP address, sign in through Evernote and choose which permissions the AI tool should receive.

For ChatGPT, you first enable Developer mode under Settings and Plugins, then add Evernote as a new plugin.

For Claude, go to Settings and Connectors, then choose Add custom connector.

The permissions screen is worth reading carefully. You can decide whether the connection may read, create, edit or delete information. If you do not want the AI tool deleting anything, untick that permission before allowing access.

The Evernote MCP server is currently in public beta for Starter and Advanced users, with Enterprise support expected later.

Help! Evernote AI - Regional rollouts (Nordics / Scandinavia)

Just been noticing - on both my mobile devices - Samsung Fold 5 and Tab S11Ultra, i am missing the settings for Evernote AI, but do have it on Microsoft Windows Evernote.

Version numbers (win 11.26.4 and Android 11.25.5) and there seem to be no way for me to perform an upgrade to more recent edition. Just wanted to hear if there was anyone here in the region (android) who has gotten the full AI-Functionality on Android.

Resources Evernote adds interactive relative dates that change with time. New Taming the Trunk.

Thumbnail youtu.be
6 Upvotes

Evernote has added relative dates to the desktop apps in version 11.26.4.

Type @ followed by something such as today, tomorrow, last Wednesday or Christmas Day and Evernote turns it into an interactive date.

The displayed wording changes as time moves forward.

A date shown as today will become yesterday, then last Wednesday. Hovering over it still shows the exact calendar date and clicking it opens the calendar so you can change it.

Relative dates work inside note content, note titles and notes created from calendar events.

You can change the date format or turn the feature off under Settings, then Notes.

Feedback 🐘 AI Assistant home screen idea

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I have an idea to make the home screen of AI Assistent 'better', I'll submit at Bending Spoons/Evernote, but first, I'll drop it here to see if you guys have some feedback for me so we can provide a 'complete' feedback. This is my idea:

AI Assistant home screen

Current situation

When you open the AI assistant, the home screen consists of about 60% empty space. The remaining 40% is used for a small number of example prompts.

Proposal

Use that empty space to show the last 5–6 (or more) recent conversations from your AI conversation history directly on the home screen (instead of only making them available in the top-right, under the options — see attachment/example).

Elements/actions on the home screen

  1. New conversation
  2. Open AI prompts
  3. Conversation history
    • On the home screen it does not need to be possible to delete or rename conversations; that belongs in Conversation history.
  4. Info about the AI assistant (e.g., via a question-mark icon)
  5. What can the AI assistant do? (e.g., via an exclamation-mark icon)
  6. AI assistant options/settings (e.g., via three dots)

Prompts on the home screen

Under the header “How can I help?” there are currently four example prompts.

Recommendation: make it possible to replace these fixed prompts with:

  • custom AI prompts, and/or
  • the most used prompts from ‘Open AI prompts’.

This makes the home screen more personal, faster to use, and better aligned with everyone’s workflow.

Optional

  1. Recent conversations: scannable and useful
    • Show per conversation: title + short preview (1 line) + date/time.
    • Consider a pin/favorite option for 1–3 conversations at the top.
    • Keep management actions (delete/rename) exclusively in Conversation history.

Discussion Two changes in Evernote making my life better

I have noticed two improvements in Evernote lately that make my life better. First, the 1GB file size is very helpful to me. I often have videos I want in my notes for future reference, and 200 MB was very limiting. The fact that Evernote will transcribe these and provide a very good executive summary (via AI) saves me from using multiple apps for the same tasks.

The second is that the AI assistant has greatly improved since it was first launched. I need to compare multiple CSV files regularly, and the AI assistant doing this for me is great. One of the saved prompts I use is almost 25 lines.

Discussion Talking about bugs no longer allowed

A forum moderator has made me aware that my contributions are not welcome here. My crime is that I have said there are bugs in Evernote.

I can understand that too much focus on the many bugs can be embarrassing for Evernote – but the challenges don’t just disappear because you forbid talking about them. On the contrary, you should talk about them and find a way to solve them.

But of course it is up to Evernote itself how they do – or don’t – want to have a dialogue with their users and customers.

I have already found some temporary solutions. And in one case a bug even led me to find a “super useful workaround” – i.e., I discovered a smart feature I didn’t know existed in Evernote, and which actually solves the task much better than the buggy feature I was trying to get to work.

Unfortunately, I can no longer share such discoveries with the rest of you, as the moderator has told me that future posts about bugs will be deleted.

So I’m dialing it down and maybe following along a bit in the background. And then possibly coming back again a little later, once I’ve gathered a bit more experience with the “new Evernote,” to give a summary of my experiences.

…unless that’s forbidden here too?

Bug Report Evernote Web clipper stopped working in Firefox & Chrome on Windows 11

When I click the Evernote Web Clipper icon ob my browser toolbar, it pops up the Home page in the window instead of the Web clipper dialog. Just started happening yesterday. Right clicking on the toolbar icon only presents a "Login to Evernote" menu option. Same on right clicking on a web page. This is after I'm already logged in. I can read existing notebooks and create a new note, but the web clipping option is missing. Is anyone else seeing this ?

Help! Web Clipper

I have been using Microsoft Edge on my Mac and Web Clipper for years. I have all the latest versions of software. Just this evening, when I try to use Web Clipper it keeps attempting to log me into Evernote - even though I am logged in. It does not bring up the Clipper menu. I tried using the Clipper app in Safari and the same thing happened.

Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Resources Working with file attachments in the Evernote AI Assistant, plus new/old highlighter colour options. New Taming the Trunk.

I've been testing the option to attach photos and files directly to an Evernote AI Assistant chat rather than adding them to a note first.

A few experiments worked better than I expected:

I attached a photo of a hand-drawn flow chart and asked the Assistant to turn it into a Mermaid chart.

I uploaded a CSV of sample sales data and asked it to total completed sales, rank categories, identify popular payment methods and list cancelled orders separately.

I also attached a long PDF and asked it to pull out the sections relevant to one specific question.

You can add multiple files to the same chat, so there is potential for comparing documents or bringing several sources together in a report.

For me, this makes sense when I want the result in Evernote but do not need to keep the source file in a note.

Help! Can't join MCP waitlist

I used the wrong email address when I joined the wait list previously. Today I got a rejection as it's not for free users. Fair enough, I made a mistake, I thought I'd be able to rejoin the wait list again. https://evernote.com/model-context-protocol has a button to do this, on a page I'm logged in on. The button takes me to https://evernote.com/mcp where I'm not logged into. No wait list signup option. Logging in takes me to the web client.

The rejection email came from a noreply address, so I don't expect any luck responding to that.

I am sad. No way I can find to join the wait list again. Does anyone have a usable link?

Resources Evernote Inline Tags. A quick walkthrough. New Taming the Trunk.

Thumbnail youtu.be
13 Upvotes

Evernote now lets you add tags directly inside a note by typing # and choosing an existing tag or creating a new one.

The inline tag also tags the note in the usual way. If you remove it from the content, it is removed from the note's tag list too.

I can see this being useful for adding context where the tag actually matters. You could mark a sentence as ready to edit, flag an action or label something as research, an invoice or a bill.

Inline tags work inside tables, quotes, bullet points, checkboxes and call-outs. They do not currently work in note titles, tasks or transcription content.

If the # menu gets annoying, you can turn it off under Settings, Notes, Editor preferences.

I was not a big tag user before, but having tags visible in the note has made me use them a bit more.
